Hard disagree with the initial statement, me and everyone I know who played remake loved the game and have never played the original, I get it probably adds to the experience but is in no way needed to enjoy it.
A few years back I had never touched a FF game before. Then I decided to download and play Remake on a whim and I'm glad I did. I love this game and it made me wanna play through the original game and everything relating to FF7, and I loved all of it. This game was my entry to my now favorite video game franchise.
I don't think newcomers should play the OG. That just spoils the entire plot, even with the changes Square Enix made. It also seems the overwhelming majority of people who dislike Remake are the ones who've already played the 1997 original.
I can’t wait for you to Experience rebirth because the 4 main gripes you had with remake are completely fixed and it feels so different in such a positive way it has truly becoming my favourite game of all time
I literally just finished replaying it last night lol I love this game!! The combat is a little bit difficult to go back to after the gloriousness that is Rebirth. But I still love it.
I was actually the opposite of you. I started with remake. Fell in love with it and it made me want to play and finish original as well as crisis core. It was amazingly written and I never felt so attached to a group of characters. Even before I got to play original, they made me care for these characters so much.
@ heyy it’s all goodd. We all got our tastes! You are right though, had I played original ff7 especially if I did as a kid. Nostalgia wouldve hit me super hard as well as just how good the game actually is and wouldve made my first playthrough even better. Just glad you played OG and it made you like remake. Another fan of this awesome game is a win in my books no matter which game they liked first!
Great video. Possibly very useful for people who bounced off of it for similar reasons as yourself, or never tried it before because they got a similar vibe just from looking at it.
Loved the combat (esp tifa) but since the game is in midgar only I always felt like I had no real unique player experience. I hope this changes once I get to play rebirth on pc. Combat is really fun and appreciate the systems in place and likely will start liking the remake series more once I get a bit more room to do stuff other than follow the storyline and the combat system has its chance to shine. Love your ff vids!
I loved remake and rebirth more than the original, although I love that game too, and got a platinum in both games and I still feel like replaying them. Best games ever made to me.
To play all FF7 content, the new game included… what should I get. The twin pack? That comes with the original game and the DLC + this new game that came out this year? Someone please clarify 🙏
If only there were a remake of FF7 that you could play before FF7 Remake. Jokes aside, they really should have released this alongside a cleaned up version of the original.
You absoulutely do not need to have played the original to enjoy remake. It might help you pick up on some of the meta stuff that it does, but it's still an absolute banger for new players too. Me, a few of my friends, and several let's players that I've watched, all played remake first and fell in love with it without ever having touched the original. In fact, I liked it so much that it inspired me to go back and actually play the original game afterward, something I don't think I would have done (on account of how old and janky looking it is) without the remake getting me attached to this setting and these characters beforehand.
My personal experience with this game was. The music is nice. I had alreadh seen it all as a movie cause I could only plah it on PC so I already knew the plot from the originsl and the remake. Bjt I wanted to try it on hand. And it's a really good movie but an okay game pushed down by how easy it can get. I felt battles could have lasted a little longer so I could enjoy combat a bit.more. maybe if I unlock hard mode I can get more enjoyment out of it and also it's best not to do every small thing this game has to offer or it becomes a chore. I ended up dropping it and playing the oroginsl and had more fun with it. Mknd you I have no nostalgia for the original, i played it in 2018 for the first time ever. And I was aware of the story for years. Just that not having all of the story at once made me not enjoy the game as much. It feels like a complete package as a game but it's not a complete story. Obviously. I guess once all 3 games are out on PC, I could sit and play all 3 games together and enjoy it all as it's mesnt to be. In the meantime, watching both parts available right now, s a very long movie and also watching my favorite streamer play it, suffices. But that's just me.
@@thechance-lore4711 And reminds me of the old game over screen from FFVII. It's a ripped movie tape, cause the original was intended to be a more cinematic game in early 3D. It's come full circle
Final Fantasy will still be worth playing when the 3rd part comes out... Also I haven't played the remakes or rebirth, I'll just keep watching streamers until the entire trilogy is finished so I can experience it myself... Also you should play FF6... I don't know, maybe that's the one getting remarked next after FF7
I do enjoy the game. Ff7 is the best game ever made for me. I dont enjoy the deviations from the original story. However, unlike rebirth, the changes from the original story are less egregious. However, the materia and depth in general for the battle system is far downgraded from the original and the action battle system doesnt hold up to a real action combat game like stellar blade or even souls games. This game is only for fans but it divided the fanbase. The combat was probably gonna be as good as it gets...i just dont think SE devs are very talented...but they needed to stick to the original story and keep it one part.
Hmm.. i noticed that new or young players dont understand games. Impatient. They just want to hack and slash and beautiful graphics. The purpose of side quests or games is to entertain u, give u a break, and then level up.
I had to force myself to complete remake the original the entire things felt so much beter and idk felt smoother to playthrough. Did't agree with the summons i barely ever used them cool to see once and then forget.
Absolutely not. It's a drag of a game, meanders far too long, this game shouted been half as long. The music was poorly handled minus one or two songs in this one as well, rebirth fixed everything. Overall, pretty dull game.
They made a nice 30 hour game and bloated it to a 60 hour game with those never ending "dungeons". They overstayed their welcome and made the experience tedious.
