    Hugely agree on the pacing and dialogue. This is a solid game that could have been among the best in the series. So many of the early side quests could have been cut, and the side quests before the final mission moved to an earlier spot in the narrative. I think my biggest gripe is that they delivered less content than we got in 20 year old Final Fantasies. No endgame dungeons, no superbosses (Hunts were way too easy to qualify), etc.

      Totally agree!! Would have loved to seen better structured and paced Sidequests and a stronger endgame

    Great reviews it’s refreshing to see just cause a great game has a couple issues and imperfections you don’t label it trash like so many others. I’ve found that I enjoy ng plus even more now that I can kinda skip so much diologue I didn’t really need to hear on my first play through.

    • @thechance-lore4711
      @thechance-lore4711  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much!! And yeah I totally agree and I think a NG+ playthrough where you skip most of the dialogue would be a ton of fun so I'm glad you're enjoying it!

    I just beat the game yesterday and I'm still in awe of how good it was. it's become one of my all-time favourite games although I agree it does have its flaws especially when it comes to RPG elements but it does so much right I can forgive those flaws (personally). Also just wanted to add that I think your videos are really well put together and an absolute joy to watch keep up the great content man I'm looking forward to seeing your future videos.

    I dont think I can agree in terms of characters about Jill reminding me of Serah, but instead really poured out a blend of Aerith/Tifa/Lunafreya to me. I feel like they took the way Aerith is flirtatious and playful with Zack, the way Tifa cares for, worries, and looks after Cloud, and the way Lunafreya expresses her love for Noctis and the lengths at to what she would do for him, and encapsulated it into one amazing package which was Jill. Meanwhile Benedikta is an amazing foil for Cid

    I love the mashup between attack on titan, fire punch and game of thrones that is Final Fantasy 16

    The Eikon fights are the big highlight of this game, and overall the battle system is fun and engaging. The story and characters were also really good. Aside from the glaring side quests issue, I enjoyed most of my 1st playthrough. Then I played FF7 Rebirth and I just realized it is a much, much better game. Suddenly I realized all of 16's issues. The lack of enemy variety. How it would have been so much fun if I could have played as Jill, Cid, or the other people in your party. The 1st town in FF7R was more full of life than all the towns in 16 combined. The fact that I can only remember 1or 2 songs from the soundtrack too. I didn't mind the drastic departure from the usual Final Fantasy, but even as an Action RPG it doesn't stand out. The difficulty was low overall even on the New Game+ Hard mode, but shoots up way too high on the Ultimaniac mode. Maybe it's an unfair comparison.

    Looooved the big icon missions, but while doing the sidequests moments i was just wachting youtube videos... the dialogue was just so dragged out.

    I totally agree how the dialog and cut scenes are too often dragged out. Whenever those dialogs and cut scenes happened outside of combat, I would watch and lidten a little bit, and if it was just fluff, I would go use the bathroom, go to the kitchen to eat, etc. I do not enjoy RPG combat style and try and avoid those types of games, so I really enjoyed the combat style of FF16.

    I'm patiently waiting for the PC port as I don't have a PS5, I have been watching the build up for this game. I've paid close attention to the past Final Fantasy and RPG games the Square Enix has been releasing and feel as though FF16 is a culmination of all the work Square has been putting in to make something like 16. I literally can't wait.

    I really love this game and I do wanna return to the game eventually to continue my 2nd playthrough (that I'm playing with the JP Voices), but If I'm being honest, I can't say I like this game better than Final Fantasy 14 and Final Fantasy 15.
    But FF16 overall is still a wonderful game and I'm excited for the future DLCs for this game, and I'm also excited for Final Fantasy 17 (I'm curious to see what this next mainline numbered title will improve from 16), and the Future of Final Fantasy in general :)
    Great review!

    Hello! I love your videos they are very informative and enjoyable to watch. i was wondering if you could give some advice? i’m not sure whether to play Final Fantasy Crisis Core, the one that recently came out. i have already played the FF7 remake, and was wondering if it is worth the buy. And if it is worth it, should i buy it on my PS5 or my switch? if you are not sure that is completely fine, just thought i would ask. Thank you!

    • @thechance-lore4711
      @thechance-lore4711  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! Thank you so much! And to be honest with you I haven't played the Crisis Core remake but I played it on the PSP when it originally came out. And it was great when it first came out! And I heard the remake makes it a lot smoother and better experience. So, I'd say if you liked the FF7 Remake then you will probably enjoy the Crisis Core Remake too!

    I don't understand why big releases need so many features. If you want to make an action game then... make an action game. Don't pretend it's an RPG. Think about how much development time could be saved by not including a leveling system, crafting system and dramatically lowering the amount of side quests and open world content. Focus primarily on battles and the story. Not only would it cost less but I'm sure it would make for a more enjoyable game. Sure long time fans of the series would complain but if it makes for a great game while also being less expensive to produce I don't see why it couldn't be a success.

    This was the first Final Fantasy game I ever beat. I was so invested in the story that i couldn't stop playing. This game gets so much hate for not being an RPG and it being too violent ect. I loved it and it got my interested in other Final Fantasy games.

  • @waffle893

    I sorta see FFXVI like I saw final fantasy XV or tales of arise. Lots of big steps forward which really helps with reaching a wider audience, but a lot of steps back that make fans a little upset. FFXV made huge leaps forward in character design and visuals, but it has a shallow combat system, a messy story, and a boring level system, while tales Tales of Arise took a step in the right direction with improved visuals and a streamlined combat system, but at the cost of the engaging bosses that you got to try your combos on that the series was known for.
    FFXVI definitely doesn’t really sucker punch fans in the gut like those games did as it’s story, visuals, and combat are outstanding and heavily outweigh the flaws in my opinion, but the shallow rpg aspects really hits hard. Great game and maybe future updates or modders when the pc release comes will alleviate some of these problems.

    I’m post-Titan, and this game’s world is so small. You have plains and a desert, that’s it. The ugly mist/fog ruins an entire area post-time-skip too

    I don't have a PS5 so I haven't played this game, but I'm glad you mentioned how annoying the extensive dialogue and slow pacing is because I have no patience for that kind of stuff. I honestly don't even like watching cutscenes unless they're quick. I really like FromSoft's style of action RPG games because they just throw you into the game and if you want to figure out the story, then you can dig into item descriptions and cryptic dialogue with NPCs to try and connect some dots (and it's fun because it feels like a genuine mystery.) This new FF game looked really cool to me, but I was really curious about the pacing because I hate sitting through cutscenes and dialogue that I'm too impatient to read. With some of these JRPG type story driven games, I just end up brute forcing my way through them so I can enjoy the battles and I totally miss a lot of the story because I'm simply just too impatient lol.
