Thank You SO MUCH!!!! I have the generic Chinese speed feed 450 and I used a lock nut and a 3/4" bolt along with the fender and flat washers. It works perfectly!!! Thank you so much for this, you're a blessing!!!

Brother! Thank you. That will definitely solve the main problem, especially when you have idiot workers who DON'T LISTEN and slam it down on concrete.

This is a good idea. Going to wait til I have a hole in mine than do it to it.

Does the 500 load a different direction?

Always preferred the 400 over the 450. I liked that the 500 was a little taller than the 450. Same height as 400?

throw some locktite on it too

Ok but I still don’t understand what it’s for why put the bolt threw the head is there some sorta advantage to it what’s bullet proof about it. I like the speed feed 400 for the weight I run my string trimmer all day I like to trim I let my employees ride the machines I don’t like sitting down all day.

Basically, the bolt will make the cap last almost indefinitely. When you tap it on the concrete, it hits the bolt instead of the plastic. I’ve never had to replace a cap since I’ve put bolts in all mine the wait is negligible it’s a few grams.

@@GwinnettLawns ah ok I get it what about the eyelets wearing out though usually my eyelets wear out before my cap does.

A carriage bolt works better. Every thing else stays the same....
