Ah! The memories of playing this game through the summer with my little bro. It inspired us to get a skateboard. The sad and funny bit is we failed big time trying to ride the skateboard. But with all the scratches and bumps we had, it was some of most good experience we had. I wish I still have the cartridge of this game.
I let my little cousin play this game. Because his only experience was with Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5. Fired up the PS1, and well into the gameplay, he turns and says to me "Wow! This game was actually good! What did they do to it?". At that moment, there was a bitter sweet feeling in my heart... I'm glad my childhood experience was back when Tony Hawk Pro Skater was actually good.

Watching this brings back so many memories expectially my mum always saying “get the letters” I kept telling her it spelt SKATE but she never got it. She just thought they were random letters. The other great thing about these classics is the soundtrack. You cannot beat it.

I remember being in disbelief when he pulled off the darkslide. I don't think many people had ever done it in real life at that time.

I started this series with THPS 3. These were legendary games, with hundred of hours spent mastering long combos and finding tapes and secret areas. I still love those videos of real skaters bailing. What a treasure! Hope they come up with one more game with legendary levels and gameplay like THPS3 and THUG2.
Papa Roach starting to blare at the start of Hangar is glued into my mind. Golden childhood memory. I could never figure out how the memory cards worked and I could never save my progress. Every time I launched the game, I always played Hangar over and over and over again.
I was so scared of that golf cart in the schoolyard level when I was a kid. It was so fast and would come out of nowhere! It made the level super anxiety-inducing for me as a kid. 😂
I can't believe the memories I'm having right now. I remember playing this with my neighborhood friends and we would chase that guy in golf cart at the school just so we can get hit by him, then we would go up to the bathroom just to hear the pooping sound effects 🤣🤣
