Great that a hardtail is OK for learning because I've been learning on one for about 30 years now (actually it was rigid for 20 of those)! Ready for a full suss now, as I'm getting old!
Recently sold my full suss to build up a second hardtail. Went for a steel frame this time and absolutely love it. Just fun to ride, extremely capable and less to maintain. Alongside my gravel bike it’s all I need.
I used to have a full susser and a hard tail back in the day, when everyone rode 26s. I liked both, and in honesty I was better suited on a hard tail. The full susser was great but I didn’t have the confidence or the ability to really put it to good use. The other thing I loved about my hard tail was that it could be an ‘everything bike’. Great video, and loved the little squeals as you went over jumps/bumps. Also, more tipsy Dave please.
Dave you are the greatest at comic relief. Walking up that hill saying I could ride this if I wanted to. Good moves trying those jumps on a hard tail. No shock absorption all the rebound in your hips knees and back.
I actually think it's hard not to have fun on a bike. Like any bike. They all have there pluses and minuses but it's hard not to have fun on a bike. Even cheap heavy bikes can put a smile on your face and the feeling of leaving one unlock and walking away for hours never worrying about it is liberating.
Nothing wrong with a Hardtail, I'm 53 (in 2 weeks) and my only bike is a 2017 GT Avalanche with 27.5" tyres (profile pic) and it's a beast. I use it for everything trails, bikepacking and I even hook a trailer to it for runs to the market. 🐮😎
nice one dave - hardtails for life mate...more smiles per mile than anything else :) look forward to more MTB content - go send those trails then drink beer!
That bike is awesome...I only know how full suspension feels. I began riding 2 years ago, after retiring. I bought 3 bikes, road, gravel and a full. Around here, the gravel is the one I ride the most . The roads are congested and the woods get too hot and buggy to enjoy in the summer . Thanks for getting tipsy, enjoy yourself mate!
Fair Play Dave. King of fun woop woop 👐👍👍 Hardtail are just FUN I totally LOVE mine just gone on to maxxis tyres and yeah they are great how did you find them lol lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 BOSTIN 👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎😎
So want a mtb, hired a couple (vitus. 1x10 deore) in swinley forest and loved it. Starting looking for me and my wife. Covid.. everything is sold out. Especially if you want not to spend a fortune and you need one sized for 5'1 and one for 6'3.....
Hiya, yes they do. But I think it depends on the shape of your ears…I have friends that definitely wouldn’t agree with me. Sorry that’s not very helpful.

Hardtail for life ❤ never ridden a full suss, vert happy with my budget Hardtail and budget gravel bikes 👍
Same👍🏼
Have both, Hardtails are fun and makes you pick the right lines, full sus can get away with if you not spot on and on a long day bit less fatigued.👍

Practice practice and more practice got to love ❤️ it!
So true!
Just built up a spesh chisel with axs, 2.4 tires, and a 120mm fox fork. Super fun time.
Impressed with your mtn bike skills!
Thank you
I missed the pork pies.....but thought you summed it up nicely; looks like a nice fun somewhat inexpensive quality ride.
Looks tasty! More mtb please 🙌 oh and the frame bag? Is that to mess with the tail centre riders 😄
Yes and yes 😂

Dropping in💯🇺🇸💪
Where/how do you attach Camera to bike to film and get your handlebars in too?
I use a GoPro chesty mount .
Fair Play Dave. King of fun woop woop 👐👍👍

BOSTIN 👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎😎
They were ok..
Thanks 👍
Not quite Sam Pilgrim!! But a good effort seeing you've not ridden MTB for a while. Good to mix it up to keep things fresh 👍
Totally not close to Sam 🤣 thank you 🙏🏼
Wow, great mtb video! Cool to watch your improvements! Just subscribed to you 😄
*SO SPARKLY* - Oh yes. Already want one before I saw the video...

Feeling hungry for pork pies now. With a pickled onion. And as many beers as you had at the end of that ride.
Oh that’s a good combo. Would you believe I only had one 🤣
yo mate off topic. but the soundbuds do they stay in with hard shredding ? just ordert the marin el roy :D
Hiya, yes they do. But I think it depends on the shape of your ears…I have friends that definitely wouldn’t agree with me. Sorry that’s not very helpful.
Abused my Cube 29" as a trail bike for 2 years now😂, ordered a San Quentin 2 can't wait for it to arrive
Don’t think my vintage Raleigh MTB would cope with trying to replicate that 😂
Full squish seems like it would have to absorb more energy as compared to a hardtail.
exactly how i expected a fellow roadie to react to mtbing i remember myself doing it, just downing myself and putting out all the excuses 😂🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣 still loved it though!
@@DaveNoakes i know right 🤣
Learn on a hard tail... yes! They are great and when you go to full you will have a better skill set. Even better... learn of a full rigid... :)
Seriously you make me howel 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank you 🙏🏼
@dave Noakes, if your sponsored by quad lock, how come your video never show them 🤔
I don't need to show them in every video. I'm sponsored by a few companies but it doesn't mean every vlog contains an ad or product placement.
Am sorry Dave but my money on juliet on mountain biking race with you.. great mtb ride though… 👍🏻
🤣I think if I spent a day practising I’d beat her 👍🏼
Doesnt he know how to prononce "full suspension"?
I mispronounce all the words 🤣🤣🤣
Quite good for never riding a mtb
Thank you.
Would love to say love ut but...if i was buying a new MTB would i go steel HT, defo not.
