so what is the point of a scrambler if its competition is street/naked z400? Does this mean scrambler is basically the same as street/naked? What is the point of separate category then?
Honestly, I'd rather have the ralley I think. After dusting off the newb on a bike that is designed to take a fall or two it would be a nice one to keep around to use on a trail or two after getting something else for the street.
If they give it spoke wheels, make it tubeless, and give it 6.5 inches of clearance, i think they will have a winner. But they won't unfortunately. There is still a huge gap in the affordable 400cc, 400lbs, motorcycle scramble/ ADV market. I love my Himalayan but, I know it's limitations and it's not for everyone. Still waiting for a versys 400x, a T3, or a rally 500. If the CLs came with a skid plate, even a cheap one, spoked wheels, and decent clearance it would be awesome. Take the best parts of the rebel, and cb500x, and make a true scrambler, total winner.
I would like to know why Honda runs the exhaust system right down to the ground and insist on telling us that it's a scrambler? Why Honda? Remember the scrambler of old days when the exhaust system was kept up high by your inside thigh? That's where it should be!
Not sure how well this bike would do against the RE Scram 411. I think many hipsters will go for the currently very hip Royal Enfield brand instead of the friendly but bland Honda.
The scrambler scene is marketing to the young, hipster crowd. If you really want to ride dirt and street, there's a dual sport out there for you. (Just an opinion.)
I never caught on to the Rebel styling, but I like the CL styling much better
It looks better than Rebels. 😀
I agree. It has nicer lines.
Had a CL250 scrambler back in the day- great bike👍
Classic ride. I wish they still made bikes like that today.
The original CL looks way better, wish they kept a little more of the retro styling.
I would consider it as my in town ride. Aging out of 650/1000s weight wise. Did my hard core off road riding when young!😎
I think for very light off routing it will be awsome!
I would like a 305 scrambler. An old honda but a good one.

I like the CL300...

Yep, and the Rally weighs 40lbs less and can do surprisingly difficult trails.
If it were to hit my local market on time, I would consider it, but I think it would be too expensive as a first bike
I'd sooner have the 300 Rally, but they're not easy to find.
Same here. We ordered ours as soon as it came out and waited three months for it to arrive.

Welcome aboard! Thanks and much appreciated.

Spokes and tubeless don't go together. 🤔
@@positivelynegative9149 People have done it and seem to like it. If I am wishing for a unicorn I might as well wish for everything.
Or just take the CFR300L and put on some scrambler bodywork. Boom, you've got the best off road scrambler in the world.
Royal Enfield are offering the Scram 411 that’s offering decent performance at a reasonable price point.
Yeah, if they are the same price it would be a tough choice. I like the Enfield better as a bike but that Honda reliability...
What category of bike will the CL Scrambler fall under on the Honda Canada website: Cruiser, Standard, Adventure or Dirt?
Definitely standard. Only a couple of scramblers actually live up to their off-road image and this is definitely not one of them.
You were right. It’s a standard!
Hey, Honda make a Screbbel.
Compared to Ducati and Triumph, Honda phoned it in.
It would be cool if they made a scram based on the CRF300L.
I would be in interested in seeing one ps merry Christmas 🎄🎄☃️
Thanks, likewise. Just trying to ride out the winter storm of the century here in Ontario.
Just need that CL750 now, but a stripped Transalp instead of Rebel.
Yes, that would be cool. I'd like to see a Yamaha Scrambler based on the T7.
Duel sport all the way.
Same here.

I wonder if they’ll do a 1100 DCT Scrambler too 🤔
They already have one. They call it the Africa Twin :)
It’s the bike no one wanted.

I have a feeling that the Honda CL300 would perform a tad better on the road, but the RE would smoke it in the dirt.

Totally agree. I'd get a KLX300 every day of the week over this scrambler.
I would never buy one of those models that's way too much weight! I'd just get a crf300 or the Rally like your wifes
Yeah, that would be my choice as well.
Baby scam? Honda, how far you've fallen. Babies! Really!
