I guestimate you left LGB somewhere in the 2:30 to 3:00pm PT Which should have put you into DAL somewhere between 7:30 and 8:00pm CT. I take into account that March 09 would have been before the Time change so Arizona would have been 1hour ahead of California at that time! Fascinating! Feel like I've flown somewhere! Keep em coming!

WOWOWOWOWOW!!!! Wonderful views taking off!! Very good views of the Los Angeles River!! Good views of both San Gogognio and San Jacinto. Oops, my kitty kat keeps walking on my keyboard!! For your next trip, you should fly in and out of Paine Field (PAE) and show footage of that airport. They finally opened it up to commercial traffic about 5 years ago and I know Alaska Airlines serves it. The best part about PAE: it's sooooooo much closer to where I live! I can take the Green Swift Bus to get there. Also, you should do the Harbour Air floatplane flights between Vancouver and Victoria. You'll LOVE the views!! They go right over the Lions Gate Bridge and they fly over the Gulf Islands.
Yes, I should do both of those things. They've actually been on my list. I've just never done it. I actually had a floatplane trip booked once and something came up that I had to cancel it. I can't remember what it was, but it had to be important for me to cancel that type of trip haha.

Nice new Max 8.. how did you wind up right behind the guy marshalling in the flight in Long Beach? Rainy landing, nice approach over downtown, seems like your pilot opted for a hard touchtown with all the rain. Thanks as always!
The hard stand they parked at just happened to be right in front of a ramp access door. And the marshaller stood right in front of it to bring the plane in. So I had already been standing there to get the planes arrival, it was just kind of luck that the marshaller stood right in front of me. Made for a really cool shot.

I mean, as a passenger seeking comfort, I generally find Airbus aircraft to be more comfortable. And that's pretty much across the board. As an aviation enthusiast, I'll fly on anything haha.
There was a point when the USPS operated their own aircraft. There are some pictures of 727's in the USPS livery out there somewhere. Now days, most mail that requires flying (those that are expedited and non-hazardous) are transported on regular commercial flights. When you fly on a flight, there's a decent chance there's bags of mail in the cargo hold.
I saw an Iceland Air 737 Max 8 on Monday here in Ber coming from Reijkavik. It's definately a very quiet plane but i still have a negative feeling inside me when i see that type. Very negative to be honest.....
And that's justified in many ways. But as we've discussed before, Boeing is hardly the first manufacturer to produce a plane that had some type of mechanical or computer problem that then led to a crash or crashes. Of course, the way Boeing handled the whole situation wasn't even close to ideal, but still. It was a bad situation, but there's going to be a time when it's hard to avoid them.
