    Everyone! Please read this! If you're here, then you're one of the many people who still prefer long form content like this full flight. I'm talking about regular, horizontally filmed content. I am one of those people too! Please don't forget to leave a like, and comment on my full flights and other long form videos. It really helps show TH-cam this is something you and others enjoy and want to see. That's the easiest way you can help support the channel. I say all of this because TH-cam Shorts have become a large deal on TH-cam, and although they may have their place, they are not paying for what you see on here every day. I pay for everything you see on here and I make pennies on the dollar for views on Shorts vs. long form content like this full flight. In the last couple of months, TH-cam shorts have begun accounting for nearly 50% of my channel views every month, and currently 9 of my 10 best performing videos in the last 28 days are Shorts. We, as people who love long form content, which is what TH-cam is built on, need to help show TH-cam that we still want this type of content. So please, if you love these types of videos like I do, be sure to leave a like and a comment! Level of engagement with a video is the #1 way TH-cam judges whether something should be recommended to others. Thanks everyone! As always, I appreciate everyone who continues to love and support the channel!

      You can count on my support. Unfortunately the reason that Shorts are so popular is partly due to the effect of social media over the past decade or so contributing to the increase in ADHD and short attention spans. People want to consume information like fast food.

    Always love watching the wing reconfigure for takeoff and landing. It is neat how you can hear the cabin noise change as the slats retract in this video. The Thrust Reverser and Spoiler lift dump after touchdown is also awesome.

    Usually I would start-up a flight on Microsoft Flight Simulator to relax to in the background while I study/do tasks. However, when it's more of a time crunch (or I'm just being lazy), I love coming to your full length flight videos to fulfil the same role as the sim. The routes also give me some ideas to recreate in the sim!

      From his reply for anyone asking this to save his time typing it: "Just over a year ago, I was working as an aircraft rescue firefighter during the week and I flew for the channel on the weekends. I decided I wanted a change and I sold a car I’d had for many years that I loved to finance me attempting to run this channel full time as my only job. Since then I’ve lost money more months than I’ve made a profit, but I’m still chugging along. I pay for the flights either the ad revenues generated from you and everyone else who watch. So your support means a great deal of me. I’m trying to produce the highest quality aviation videos on TH-cam and I couldn’t do it without everyone continuing to watch. And it’s always just been me my friend. I do everything myself. I plan the trips, film everything, edit it, upload, reply to comments, etc. It’s all just me my friend."

      $558 is still more than 1/3rd my monthly travel budget and I need at least 13 flights per month to break even with my upload schedule. So, I can't afford to spend even $558 on one flight haha.

    Was that a really long downwind?

    • @achmedbincouscous2846
      @achmedbincouscous2846 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He generally doesn't post what SIDs and STARs his flight was on, but typically coming into LAS from SAN they would have been on the RNDRZ2, so even if LAS had been landing on 26L, there would have been a longish downwind. But this particular day they were on the 19's. (Must have been REALLY windy out of the South or there was construction because the vast majority of the time they'd have been on 26L) The RNDRZ has closer in fixes for the 1's and 8's, but if they're on 26's or 19's the last fix is basically set up for a left downwind for 26L, even if the 19's are the only option due to winds or construction. Then add in the fixes for either the RNAV Visual or the RNAVZ, which start at the very Western tip of the lake, and it's a long ride from the last fix on the STAR (which has a published speed restriction of 210) to the runway.

    35:37 Will I ever get over my fear of flying? Probably not. I look at the footage here and all I can think about is YOU'RE 30,000 FEET ABOVE GROUND! WHAT IF AN ENGINE BREAKS OR THE LANDING GEAR DOESN'T WORK OR SOMETHING ELSE GOES WRONG! YOURE DEAD!

    • @frankgrimesification
      @frankgrimesification ปีที่แล้ว

      A. Planes are designed to fly on one engine, so you shouldn't worry about that. If one engine goes out, they can fly on one engine to a diversion airport, the airport you departed from, or the final destination, depending on what exactly happens and at what point in the flight it happens at. B. It's pretty unlikely the landing gear won't function properly, but there have been instances where planes successfully landed with a malfunctioning landing gear and it didn't end in catastrophe. Pilots are professionals and are trained to deal with these situations, however rare they may be. I wouldn't worry--you're safer in a plane than you are in your car. Millions of people fly daily without having any major malfunctions.

    southwest needs to join the planes with tvs club and american and spirit and frontier

    • @sla31
      @sla31  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well the ultra low cost airlines like Spirit and Frontier will never do that. It’s too expensive to install, and then too expensive to operate. It also adds a ton of weight to each aircraft. So that’ll never happen. American has said they’re not doing it; so they’re out. They used to but after the US Airways merger that all ended. And I doubt Southwest ever will either. It took them until 2023 to get power outlets 😂. Plus, everyone has their own personal screen in their pockets now anyway. So personally I’m fine with them not having screens as long as they let you connect to the wifi and watch stuff for free.

      Well, it’s kind of long story 🤣. It’s not like I just have enough money to do this randomly haha. I worked my way through college and graduated with two aviation degrees and zero debt. Then for a few years after college I worked for Envoy Air. This was before the channel. I left envoy around the time I started the channel and spent the next 6 years working as an aircraft rescue firefighter and airport operations specialist. Over those 6 years I used my disposable income to fund all of my flights. Everything on here I pay for myself, with my own income because I worked hard through college and didn’t have tons of student loan debt. Now, the channel has gotten big enough that I can usually at least break even every month with the ad revenues and Patreons/channel memberships the channel has.
