My Dad took me to Sydney ~15 years ago for my 17th birthday. We spent a week there and ate in Chinatown, on the cliffs at Bondi Beach, at a seafood place on the water in Sydney Harbour, at a place downtown, we took a ferry to one of the further coastal areas and had Japanese food, etc. Never once did I think of eating at Ikea.
He compares different 7 eleven, ikeas, franchises and fast food places in the US to where he travels. He makes food content
Mikey. The food is obviously dry and has been sitting out a long time. When you have to guess if the gravy is chicken flavoured or not is a problem.
Please be more honest because you lose authenticity when it's obvious the food is bad. Not all food is good.
Something tells me Mike is very lenient in his reviews.
You're not wrong. I've tried some of the places he reviewed while I was in Singapore. He said each place was AMAZING, and I was severely underwhelmed each time. Never again
U do know that these reviews are based on his opinion of course you’re not gonna have the same opinion as him
@@jonvievemorrisisbreakingth7915 also some place could change their quality drastically in a night, so I'm not surprised if the place was good once then become bad the very next day. also not surprised if they prepared perfectly just for Mikey, since he is an influencer
Ah yes, the Australian institution IKEA
Yes. It's white and imported. 90 percent of Australian "institutions" to a T.
You walked past my front door in this vid, what are the odds of that 😂
my god, you maybe the first foreigner to do an exclusive ikea food vlog in Sydney..... as most of us would think you're wasting your daily calorie quota
Check out the seafood market in the city of Sydney
Come down to Sydney burwood China Town
Hey Mikey...you are Down Under! 😯
Are you going to visit Johnny & Dalena this trip? They know where all the good restaurants are 😁
Ikea food is the absolute worst apart from their chips.... classic Aussie food are Zinger stackers... or any form of RSL club on a Friday footy match evening.. always got the best chefs
I can definitely appreciate trying out chains in different countries just to see what they have to offer. But… As a nurse, all of this food looks like it was produced from a hospital cafeteria 😬😆
Lmao@trying food at IKEA Mikey you crack me up. You come to Sydney and you eat at IKEA. Love your work Mikey✌🏾🫶🏾
Haha I love that you did this. Ikea food is always a fun time. 🌞
Whyyyyyy ikea??
Why not?

“WHIKEA”
The chicken butt is the best part of the entire chicken. You won the chook lotto.
The Potato broccoli cakes can be purchased in the cafe. I've always got a few boxes in my freezer. They are amazing.
Needed to try a chicken parmi at a pub or club.
WoW Mike you are in my home town - you've inspired me to try cooking the Gronsakskaka from Ikea on my channel ✌️😉
Long-time viewer from Oz... this tells me how dire some US food must be.
C’mon mate, that wasn’t all good. An Aussie would be fair dinkum.
Didnt even know IKEA had food, and i live here. Still not sure I would eat there with so many other places to eat.
Yeah nah, I get ya, but if you want a cheap, reasonable eat that provides an alternative to the pub favourite then it’s actually okay.
Blue persian its called its in blacktown area in sydney west suburbs been there its so good.
Just anticipating the day we can see mikey chen & jackie chan can have lunch or dinner together 😊
Gotta have a visit to Burwood Chinatown next !
Why go to Ikea in Sydney when millions places to eat better food 😅. Aus is welknown with fresh ingredient
YOU DIDN'T GET THE SWEDISH MEATBALLS 🙃
He's trying things they don't have in the US.
Yo, Mikey.... Coming by Perth, then? When you do come, happy to show you around my home town!
Mikey please check out the Epicurean buffet at Crown Sydney!
I think to watch you eat when I have lunch
Next time you’re down here, go to a place called Al Alseel in Alexandria. Decent food, and much better than IKEA
Did you try red rooster
Why do American foodies never try pub or RSL or footy club food? You know, a unique Aussie experience. 🤔
Mike don't drink so he probably avoids pubs.
Yeah...go get a schnitty or something Mikey.
Woollies chicken review would be funny
Yanks have no idea
@@Ashened0 yeah but you don’t need to drink to experience the food. It helps but still…😀
Do Australian Costco next youll love it!
He did!
I do miss when he told horror stories while eating😂
same :)
Has ur camera changed, its moving so much when its close up on food
Mosse with a fork 😂😂😂😂
Anything sitting in a bain marie for hours is going to be dry.
Never into the parson's nose but everyone to his own.
Mikey coming back with those price labels on food!!! Love to see it!
What about the Australian meatballs?
Imma mimic that salmon recipe tomorrow :9
If you do it tell me how it goes?
STOP WITH THE GELATINOUSY ITS NOT A WORD
Bonza living the dream 😂😂❤😂😂❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I know if I ever booked tickets to Australia, my first thought would be... I can't wait to go to IKEA! LOL, that's why I love this channel.
Yum! I ate at ikea a lot while I was in college. Droolz
It is the back of the chicken, but it's where the tail feathers are. It's not the butt it's my favorite part. Please don't call it the butt my family calls it the pope's nose
The last part over the fence...
At 2:36 when he's eating the roasted chicken which looks like a little triangle attached to the thigh " look at that they included the chicken butt"
That chicken was pink! Under cooked! Yuck
Gotta love IKEA!! Seeing this, I recall an experience I had in Rome visiting one of the two gargantuan IKEA stores in the Eternal City with my Italian girlfriend. One of the first things we encountered was a bunch of Italians munching away on sill/pickled herring. What a Swede memory!
Interesting eating at IKEA.
Mike, i really enjoy your stuff, but why ikea food??? You went to whole a different continent and you wasted time on that? Please show local food!
I agree. Mike is the quintessential host with Jet set reach and the Everyman quality. Let’s see the local eats that visitors to that nation probably don’t know about but will find a way to visit and enjoy upon inspiration from your travel episodes.
Do you really not know? More people will watch him eat Australian McDonalds than any local place. People relate more when it’s something they’ve seen or eaten at.
@@CrispLettuce yeah sorry my magic crystal ball is at the dry cleaners this week, how else would I know that otherwise???
What kind of local stuff can one get in Australia that you can't get anywhere else? Is there any Aboriginal restaurants?
@@tommystix87 anything with kangaroo in it must be a local dish
always enjoy Mikey!
The veggie medallions are the best!!
We have IKEAs that serve food over here? Never seen one before!
I want to travel 10000 miles to eat at Ikea! 😋😋
The burgers are better at........IKEA? And yes, nice to see broccoli being useful for a change!
nahhhhh australia has some of the best quality food and u choose ikea ....
IKEA is always an adventure
Fair dinkum unbelivable 😂😂❤😂😂❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Oh you tried my food😉
Dude, it was a passionfruit cheesecake
Come back to new zealand and go to the flying fist in rewa
As I've never been to IKEA, aren't they a furniture store? Why are they serving food?
They sell tons of other stuff other than furniture. The store is huge and you get hungry after shopping for so long.
There’s a lot of walking in IKEA unless you know the shortcuts. After a lot of walking and you need a something to eat and drink, plus it’s not that expensive to eat there.
When will you travel to scandinavian countries!?
You forgot to mention that you're sponsored by IKEA.
We have thst broccoli potsto medallion in Canadian Ikea and its mt FAVOURITE. a true unsung hero
first time seeing mike telling bad
why is that on the U.S. menu?
Oh no….. really! If you want to try IKEA at all….. do it in Sweden….. not at this place. You are nuts! 😂The meat balls are always good, though……which you didn’t eat! 😅
Thanks for sharing the prices 😊
Dude idk where you put all the food at lol. I gain 20 pounds just looking at all the food you eat
Ask a random Aussie and say where is the best place to eat
Hey Mike. Ikea out did themselves with the mousse. Safe travels. Enjoy!! 😊🐞
"i dont eat sushi, raw fish or brocolli!" .... famous last words!!!🤣😆🤣😆
Haha Mikey is at Rhodes ! I live here!
That Ikea is far away from your hotel. I know it. There is also an famous yam-cha place there on the same flour.
IKEA was always good considering the prices.
That yellow sponge cake is made from cream cheese
😊 Happy eating, Mike!
that passion fruit dessert is greatt
Tried ikea food in Perth.....verdict : expensive junk
Surely the guy is just trolling us at this stage...
LOVE IKEA food! Thanks For this ❤❤❤❤
Us Aussies dont even eat at IKEA
I love that your in Australia ❤❤
Scp-3005
I love IKEA Food😋👍
Our Sydney Spanian is opening kebab truck today as decided he wanted Frankfurt style kebab in Australia 🇦🇺
Spanian? Mr. Hood Oos himself that Spanian?
We have the salmon dish in UK Ikea. On a friday everything is half price so the salmon is about £3 which is a bargain. It's never dry and they take the skin off
There are so many good places to eat in sydney and u went to ikea? Why?!
Yummy 😋
Chicken was fresh out of the oven, just that you was too slow, in picking it up,
Love the content! i just started my cooking channel. i hope mine grows like your channel has! keep up the great content!
Dude travels to Australia to eat at Ikea smh...
Other channels show different foods as well, I've noticed lately.
IKEA food is great. Especially on Fridays half price main meals. Don't knock it till you tried it.
Yeah, but he eats ALL of IKEA in one sitting…
There’s a epic Aussie poem in that:
“The day the IKEA ran out of food”
Seriously? IKEA? Out of thousands of good restaurants in Sydney?
Beautiful
You can’t hide it… you’ve been eating more broccoli, don’t deny your joy of it being used right.
Hmmm, sorry Mikey I just don’t believe you that these dishes are good!
Go there and try it for yourself all he has done is shared his experience
@speedygaming00 I did. OP is right. Unless they come out piping hot the salmon and chicken parm are trash, even then the flavors are underwhelming. Meatballs are what they are, classic but nothing to go out of your way for. I don't do dessert so I'll take his word for it.
@@speedygaming00 well that is kinda the point…I’ve been following Mikey for years & if I did get to travel to any of the places he has been & enjoyed the food, then I would seek out those places. Isn’t that kind of the point?
@@sweetchildmine08 but you said you didn't believe him like he has a reason to say otherwise
Looked pretty bad
I love shopping at Ikea. I went the ones at Australia and Indonesia. So different than the ones in the US
I do not like this new youtube layout. it makes it harder to see the comments.
Weird that a guy would go to IKEA to eat, it's almost like he's a youtuber and does this in every country he visits or something 🤷♂️
Im surprised at the amount of people in the comments surprised that he's eating Ikea food. In North America, it's so common to go to Ikea for lunch because it's reallt affordable for the quality of food you get.
Where i live, going to Ikea is a full outing!
