This video shows off how we set up and stage our work environment at a major tradeshow like Computex. It's the true behind-the-scenes! Despite the hard work, we also have time these days to relax more at the events too. During the first few days, it's total chaos and all work. But unlike the old days, we can now afford to pay for extra days of travel (and a much nicer hotel) for the team to have time to explore and have fun in new and interesting locations. That's why I love it out in Taipei so much -- we do our work, then we all get to explore and hangout and have fun in a unique location. It's great to be in a position these days to enable the team to get to really experience new environments for fun while we also get to see tons of cool stuff for work.
Backstage is good to see. But you could also do some longhair Gamer shocks locals by speaking mandarin. By feeding with trending videos the Algorithm you may earn more credits to buy O2, water and free time to live outside the Matrix server and youtuber farms in y'all live.
We love it! The whole team is competitive and the focus is crazy to witness at these shows. Feels good to have a short period of super high focus to remind all of us why we love PC hardware!
Hell yeah, Behind-the-Scenes stuff like this is something I love a lot, and so I appreciate you posting this! The content from Computex slapped hard, and I loved hearing you speaking Mandarin!
Thank you! It's been fun to finally get semi fluent, so useful in day-to-day life even at home. It's also nice just to communicate with company reps in their own language when I can. The human connection is so much better that way.
@@gnextras Wholeheartedly agree! The human element when communicating through language is something that's super important, especially when across different cultures! It's speaking directly to the heart and mind, instead of through an interpreter, and makes solid memories for everyone. I've loved watching your progress with Mandarin constantly improve, especially hearing that you practice at home as well! I'm passionate about languages myself, so watching you make progress with it is just wonderful. There's a YT Channel I watch for learning more about Mandarin + Grammar tips called "Grace Mandarin Chinese", where she explains everything and makes it all simple to grasp, speaking slowly at times and has skits to accompany her while she does it. I think you'll love her channel!
I find you had the most enjoyable and interesting coverage of Computex of all the channels I follow. It's incredible you manage to make this with a 3-men crew and without any big corpo with high ressources behind you. Keep up the fantastic work, and please enjoy Taipei and take a good break!
I like how Steve shows the reality of what it's like to shoot content away and also how it's done so we get to see how the magic is being made. Behind the scenes stuff is very valuable and should be more appreciated. I understand that not everybody cares about this and that's why it goes on Extras, but it still has a place and worth the effort to make. (whether low quality, or not).
Tip for rough throats, dissolve the lozenges in hot water to make a quick tea 🙂 Ricola make a fairly good tasting sweetened herbal tea but about any lozenge works.
@@gnextras I only figured it out recently myself. I can't guarantee that strong menthol drops won't taste like eating a pack of Newports but I can guarantee that Ricola originals are pretty good that way.
Two weeks sure is a long time to share a hotel room with people you work with. Even if the majority of the time you're only coming back to sleep. That'll stress a work environment real quick if anyone isn't feeling it anymore.
Fortunately, we don't run into any problems with this crew and everyone is pretty socially aware of when someone else might need a break or space. We were able to still have days off each week, so everyone tends to go separate ways for those to explore and decompress! I'm grateful to have a crew that understands how to interpret and respect cues like that.
I historically never watched trade show coverage. I had little interest in the prototype products and even less in trying to keep up with the rapid fire content releases. But you guys this year made it so interesting that I just kept coming back for it. I WANTED to see the next bit of coverage. My interest in the products themselves is still mostly limited (though I admit I'm a sucker for a LOT of the cases teased this year), but your presentation was very engaging. I LOVED the Scythe coverage and the InWin suite! Good job!
I loved watching your coverage. You're so right. Stories behind or along with that subject matter at hand are far more interesting than just product bullet points and statistics. I mean, the latter has its place too but it's more purely informative. Your coverage is something I can sit back to and enjoy and there's something new to learn from stories too. In the end, it's an aspect that sets GN apart.
Steve, I have to admit I was super impressed and shocked how many videos your team was putting up each day. Even some larger teams weren't pulling that off. Y'all are amazing.
