I requested this song tirelessly over on here on the Oasis reactions and on Discord as well 😅😅. But this is my favorite Oasis song of all time. That acoustic version of Jools Holland 2000 is such a great rendition, still gives me goosebumps. And it also reflected a period of time for Oasis. They just came off from the crazy production and tour of Be Here Now and both Noel and Liam gone through changes. During the production of the Standing on the Shoulder of Giants album, Bonehead and Guigsy quit the band. In came Gem Archer and then Andy Bell. Noel had given up drugs by 1998-99 and Liam was going through a divorce with Patsy Kensit. Noel would also get his separation from Meg Matthews in 2001. 6:44 and no he could not have. And Liam and Noel in 2000 were okay. But Liam's voice at that time even was starting to break down quite a lot. Plus Where Did It All Go Wrong? is a very intimate and personal song. That suited Noel to perfection and this song is a showcase of how brilliant of a singer Noel was and still is.
Yeah SOTSOG was a reaction to Be Here Now’s madness. Would personally have loved to hear Liam sing more of these types of songs, maybe not this one cos Noel does a great job but some of the Bsides would have been elevated with an LG vocal
Think this was the moment or period where Noel really started coming into his own as a singer. You could tell there was a subtle emotional change in his delivery.
Good to see you guys back! Missed your uploads and banter! Yup, definitely prefer this live version, as Dave says. The album version lacks the depth of Noel's emotional output. I watched this prior to purchasing the album and was hooked into it immediately. Back then, I was only just learning to play guitar, and this song/version opened the next level of self-taught rhythm guitar. It was, (as perhaps Dave may put it!) - Instrumental 😁 I believe Noel wrote this at the point in time when he was re-evaluating his life after the hedonistic coke-induced psychosis of the 90's, when he had a 'clear out' of the hangers-on and sycophants. It was a New chapter for Oasis (with Andy B-bop & Gem joining relatively recently prior to this performance and SOTSOG release) - and it was certainly a new chapter for Noely G. He even looks and sounds so much better for getting his shit together! Nice one Dave and Shecky! ❤
This was Oasis's first gig in the UK in 2.5 years! The Jools Holland Show on BBC. Noel sounds fkng biblical. He really started becoming a singer and lead vocalist at this point (for me). 'Mysterious' Mike Rowe on keys here. 🎹 And no, sadly, this wasn't a single, just an A side.
One of my favourite Oasis tunes. Best part of it is, you can enjoy two different demo versions of it, the album version and this sublime acoustic rendition.
@rambo-ro6lz I thought he hated that song (Where did it all go wrong?). He stated in an interview I think that he was just uninspired at this point with his songwriting LOL
Hey Shelly! Mark just dropped another new single. The End Will Show Us How. My opinion- starts out slow, but gets much better as it goes along. Marks singing is superb. About a 20 second solo- close up on those magic fingers- which is what I see when I see them in concert, always on the rail right in front of Mark. Watching those fingers fly in real life you realize he is super human… 😄 Interested in Dave’s take on this one- just released two hours ago! ❤️🤘🏼🤘🏼🎸
Gallagher Bros Hardware. Sounds like an excellent place to get some tuner screws. Good stripped back tune. Great news about your new book. Congrats! I will definitely nab a copy asap. Trying to finish off my latest sci-fi comedy screenplay. Not sure what I'll do with it when its done. Anyhow, Dream Theater's latest release, A Broken Man. is a tune for Dave to check. It's a long-un but some good passages. I'd post the link here but YT keeps deleting my posts with links for some reason.
Could I please recommend probably 2 of the best live acts in the world at the minute. Sam fender and Wunderhorse. For Sam fender I’d recommend hypersonic missiles live. And for Wunderhorse I’d recommend Teal live.
standing on the shoulder of giants 2000 had a lot of good b sides and there were good songs on the album too but the album didn't have that much of an impact back then. it didn't have those low hanging fruit hits but a lot of reflective songs
trust me when this album came out liams voice was fucked, im surprised he sang as many songs on the album as he did. Jusy watch the Wembley gig in 2000. Liams voice was fucked, didnt help that on the 2nd night that was being shown live on tv liam turned up pissed after spending the night after the first gig drinking all night with one of the spice girls i think. You should get him to react to that just fir the sheer nonsense
This album was a bit of a let down when it came out but this is one of the best songs from it. Good performance here but I much prefer the studio recording.

One of my favourites, forgotten by many. The album version is just as powerful as this live version.
after missing out on both pre sales we finally got resale tickets, will be the 21st oasis gig we've seen
Another mega tune from the boys , great to see you back btw ❤
Glad you’re back ❤️ long live oasis
Noels voice can really stand on its own.
Definitely the live version, near perfection is better than perfection when it comes to entertainment.
album version is amazing guys give it a listen on the earphones!
Totally agree 👌
Totally agree!
Congratulations on the book🎉 good on ya.
Thank you!!

I'd totally forgot about this, and how great a track it is. Mega.

I prefer the actual demo version much over the album one: th-cam.com/video/6Nk_Oek5XEg/w-d-xo.html
No the most underrated Noel sung Oasis song is Shout It Out Loud.
By far, so rarely suggested for what an amazing song it is.
I loved this one when it came out 🤘
Have you seen noels cover of to be someone by the jam dave ? Well worth a listen
This was a single in the UK, there's even a video for it!
You're thinking of Sunday Morning Call, no?
Edit: it was released in the US, not here.
2 in 1 bonus
Brilliant song
GENIUS🎸
Está canción tiene una versión en vivo en Japón 2002
I can see them hugging 🤗 😅
🫂
phenomenal, was this another one written about meg Matthews?
Noel’s a big fan of Neil Young and Pink Floyd so those influences are definitely there. Good observation.
I think this is Noel's favourite song on that album.
I believe he said Go let it out was his favourite.
@rambo-ro6lz I thought he hated that song (Where did it all go wrong?). He stated in an interview I think that he was just uninspired at this point with his songwriting LOL
Book(bought) and downloaded to read in the new year
More shed seven and Biffy clyro reactions please
Aww thanks for that, and thanks for watching 'til the end!
@samechick glad you were able to read my poor attempt at a sentence... sorted it now.. looking forward to reading the book

Thanks for the heads up Michelle! ❤️❤️❤️

YT comment section is always broken some how
Dave have a listen please on Liam's penned track "boy with the blues" and its fantastic gospel soul outo

This live ballad was so much better than the album version, glad you went with this version
standing on the shoulder of giants 2000 had a lot of good b sides and there were good songs on the album too but the album didn't have that much of an impact back then. it didn't have those low hanging fruit hits but a lot of reflective songs
Neil Young for sure in this … pity NG looks down on these songs.

The studio version isn’t where it’s at, loses all ie soul with that full band production. It should have been stripped back like in the video
This album was a bit of a let down when it came out but this is one of the best songs from it. Good performance here but I much prefer the studio recording.
