Sharks have been around for at least 450 million years - since before the dinosaurs!
A major reason why sharks have outlasted so many other animals is their anatomy (the way they are built) - they are literally ‘Built to Hunt’.
Finding food is pretty easy for sharks because of their:
Streamlined body - enabling them to glide quickly through water.
Agility - ability to change their body's position efficiently.
Sensory ability - highly adapted senses which enable them to detect, track down and locate their prey over large distances.
