I had a turbulent discussion with a dear one today. I had remained calm and objective in my behavior for a while, I then felt that I got unbalanced and I raged because I felt trapped. I then layed down on my bed crying because I felt so confused when the whole situation was obvious. I felt my ego so strong and many thoughts came to my mind. So I asked "now what, what is the next step in this process?" And I heard: "Acceptance of ego".
I did some "I love you-s" and went to watch this video. And to my surprise, it was about this "next" step in the process.
When Matt said that our ego just wants respect.. It felt so right. So here is my message to my ego:
I am sorry ego, I am sorry if I have disrespected you. I love you.
I am sorry if I haven't been nice to you.. I love you. You really help me, you show me what I need to work on in my life. You show me what I need to do to grow. You are a good guide. And I look forward to that day, when we both respect each other and love each other. And we will merge into one, and it will be beautiful.

When I did "I Love you" I heard a voice from my left side " I m dying " but I continue saying I Love you , for a while I heard child voice and it was calling out to me saying "mommy", I had tears in my eyes when I heard the voice , so I stopped ,and said I love you all inside and out !
Matt has been slowly winning me over over some years now but this is the first time I'm seeing the brilliance of this method. And he's an amazing facilitator and speaker.
This is changing the course of my walk, it's the understanding I've been waiting for. I cannot thank you enough.
Another great talk...so many are desperate to subdue shadow emotions, hence the epidemic of prescription drugs that stop them from feeling their feelings...but in trying to suppress it, it only grows stronger....respect it's power!...good stuff!

I have listened to this over a dozen times now and I keep hearing something new. I listen to it when I go into despair or I feel anger or depression coming on and it REALLY does help remind me to not push those emotions down and instead I acknowledge them and RESPECT them and VOILA..... they subside with a big AHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........

Matt advises us to "learn how to respect your shadow" which he defines as "divinity in its darkest hour". "I'm sorry you feel that way" answers the question "why" did this happen to me... This breaks from other spiritual teachings that try to make sense of past transgressions against us such as everything is just an experience of divinity. There seems to be mechanism at play here on different levels of consciousness at the same time. I feel myself wanting to complicate things but really it's just about respecting our experience as valid. Good stuff!

This is exactly what I needed to hear. In fact, I even told an angry abusive someone I must interact with this week that "I respect your power." I'm not sure the statement worked on him in particular, but I now laugh inwardly at his rantings and find them amusing. That's an improvement. I see that his shadow is hurting deeply. Mostly, I am working on loving my own shadow. Beautiful, helpful teaching!
Honoring the shadows of Light and Dark within ourselves and others can be inspirational, empowering and transformational. Thanks so much Matt for continuing to clarify this life of mine :+) Below are three poems; one honors the dark shadow within me, one the Light shadow within me and one honors the shadow with another.
Rain
I am just a child looking through the pane
But my eyes can’t see though all the rain
My heart is hollow. My spirit grows cold
While waiting for these feelings to unfold
I curl up and I hold myself tight
Wishing for warmth in this cold night
The pounding of the rain and the beating of my heart

Respect is the ultimate transformer of reality. Yes! I won't bother with a parenting book. All of this is perfect for my relationship with my kids. It's not easy when you're used to an authoritarian. But it's the way.

Hah! I had paused this video to help my dad.. Came back to make some tea for the second half, and the message on the end of the tea bag's string said, "appreciate yourself and honor your soul." This teaching was so benevolent. I'm sitting with this and there's the part that has complete knowing that I've never respected my shadow, extreme emotions and a myriad of things. There's this humbleness clarity of what self love is. There's a simple clarity about what it means that everything I've been seeking, love God is truly within me. Everything I desire especially love with a partner is possible and that will come into my experience effortlessly as I respect and fall in love with the shadow in me. Everything I want I must be. Now I don't discount anywhere I've been on my journey because without it would not have brought this moment to me. There's this grace and stillness. There's an excitement in me like I get to love on my shadow and all my aspects in such a way that my shadow might fall in love with me. My mind wants to tell me this is too easy, too wonderful to be my task. I'm overwhelmed, no tears just like I'm meeting myself today and my spirit is in joy and said, finally.
We are exactly where we need to be right now. Shadow and light are one I believe . Its all good and I am so grateful that I can get to understand and feel/emotions what leads me in my life. script it and experience it . i get it. thank you

this is so true, no matter how much spiritual progress and love i feel, that shadow somehow resurfaces and makes me feel I've made no progress, now i see i have to acknowledge my shadow self with respect.

Dear Matt, Im writing in from New Delhi, India. Can't thank you enough for the impact your teachings have had on my life. Just last week, while I was absorbing what you said in this talk, i felt my partner's chest heavy with a lot of betrayal and doubt and rage ... it seemed like they were poking out of his chest like sticks. it was like he was walking around impaled. I remembered you and gave those forms love and respect and thanks for about 30 minutes....but I could sense a lightening of his being almost instantly after the first I love you. He didn't know about this but also said he immediately felt lighter and better. Your insights and teachings have made every aspect of life more LIVING more ALIVE for me. I am able to begin to love myself in a much more real way. Really hope to attend a talk one day. and dream that you will come to India sometime soon. thank you so very much Matt. You don't know , or perhaps you do know, just how precious you are to each one of us.

Is the shadow one's ego? I think one's ego is worthy of respect because we need it to keep us alive in 3D. "Thank you for your input, Mr. Ego Man. I respect your power [in 3D cough]."
As always, Matt’s guidance takes you to a place you really want to be. At some point, with spiritual maturing, shadow work comes up for resolution or integration. As beautifully offered here, a genuine feeling of acknowledging ‘With Respect’, is simple yet profound in effect. Brings a certain openness rather than a closing amidst suffering and am so grateful for this approach and a transmission that offers a bedrock of solace. Thank you :)
(with life’s uncertain twists and turns it’s not always going to be a smooth ride. Too often, a beautiful teaching is lost with raw emotions and I am so grateful for my meditation practice because I notice that it can deliver a space for detached compassion and to Remember, more often than not).

Thank you darling One for saying this so clearly and with such love and Truth. The Shadow will never never lie. In my experience, it really wants us to first just hang out with it. Not move away from the discomfort. I think that's what you mean by respect. Be careful not to start the conversation too soon because there's such a tendency to want to stay in control and not squirm. So being willing to just be there allowing Shadow all the space, time and total attention it needs is really the way to love it with out interference of any kind.Let it move on its own at its own perfect time. Thank you so much for you videos. They are helping me so much. I was raised very religiously that I still to this day fear God is judging me and may condemn me to hell. I'm 73 years old. It is so comforting to realize that the Universe is here, not to judge, but to help. Love to you for your teachings.

It's actually crazy how the timing of this video is so in sync with what just happened earlier this morning. I was feeling anger and resentment and was trying to "get rid of it" and during the entire hypnosis I felt like an imaginary part of me trying to paper cut inbetween my toes and my ankles and my shins. It was happening the WHOLE time during this video too. I love Matt Khan's approach on respecting the shadow. I only heard of it very briefly in some videos but this has definatly brought me some interesting insights! Thank you all mighty reiki bolter!

You speak always to my heart in ways that hears things it never heard before. And longs to hear deeply at a soul level. You make LOVES AWARENESS in every word you speak. It is pure poetry. I feel heard just listening to you. I can't verbalize my feelings or thoughts in ways that other will understand what I would like to say. By your saying what you say I understand myself that unspoken part me that wants to be heard. I heard by what you say. I hope when I say I love you I hope you feel it as I feel what you say is so REAL.
