  • Matt Kahn is a spiritual teacher and highly attuned empathic healer who has become a TH-cam sensation with his healing and often humorous videos. More than 20 million TH-cam channel viewers are finding comfort, inspiration, and relief from the challenges of daily life through his intuitive updates and helpful, uplifting, heart-centered messages. Matt is the author of the books Whatever Arises, Love That: A Love Revolution That Begins with You, Everything Is Here to Help You: Finding the Gift in Life’s Greatest Challenges, The Universe Always Has a Plan: The 10 Golden Rules of Letting Go, and most recently, All for Love: The Transformative Power of Holding Space.
In this podcast, Sounds True’s founder, Tami Simon, speaks with Matt Kahn about his new book and how it emerged as part of his own journey of healing and integration. Tami and Matt discuss heart-centered consciousness and “how truth moves,” the healing work of processing our past, how we are at once human and divine beings, gratitude for all of our experiences, speaking from a place of wholeness, the power of mercy, validating our own feelings, dialoguing with our fear, the practice of dynamic listening, a challenge for “advice-givers,” the difference between holding space and spacing out, and more.

Wow! When you were speaking of holding space for your fear, it really resonated within me. So, I stopped the video and held space for my pain. It was AMAZING! My "wounded inner child" came forth and we had the most wonderful conversation. And now she truly sees that she is not a selfish monster, but that her truest desire was to be helpful, to contribute. Thank you so, so much Matt! Thank you Tami for hosting this wonderful interview!

Very helpful. Nothing I say or do can heal another. People will go into defense. My presence of just listening. They are able to open up. Solve their own thought process.

I am revisting this interview almost 2 weeks since it was posted..and it is like day and night. I really HEARD and felt the content as I am becoming more and more Loving, Aware, and Present with all the core "difficult" emotions...timing, timing, timing! Thank you Tami for being so authentic and sensitive in asking such clear and potent questions, and Matt for BEing the Love you are. Blessings and Love to you both, and ALL.

Thankyou Matt for your honesty. I like to write poems, this is to say Thankyou to you.
    There was no feathered nest,
    No safe place to rest,
A child's dream squashed right down,
    A child's voice forced quiet,
    Silent screaming.
    Looking back,detached participant observer,
    Scorched wings, barefoot through fire,
    I survived your imaginative imposition,
Ramifications to my life are endless.
Reality a nightmare and nightmares a reality,
Dark and light all switched about,
Seven lives, seven souls, seven crimes against them,
Entered into one sacred book and stricken from another.
Seven winds, seven directions, seven seasons,
North, south, east, west, above and below and all around,
Called unto thee by command united,
Scorched wings, silent screaming and fire,
    I found me.

So many so very inspiring ideas and metaphors! I am grateful for this conversation, thank you! I have such a deep belief in compassion and the need for compassion in our world, so the image of each and everyone of us being in a hospital bed resonated a lot with me. The notions of space, and how we are space, and the art form of holding space itself - it seemed to me that these all tie so well together with the idea of how we want to come from a place of wholeness instead of a place of wounding. Also, something else we forget by default is that indubitable ineffable interconnectedness (big words, I know) that we have as human beings. If we could bring these beautiful felt thoughts together and keep them in our awareness, how different our relationships and life would be…

Thank you for inviting us to come along with you Matt and for providing the platform Tami! This is the "alternative" to suffering writ large.
Virtuous circling. This is how I found my way back to my moral center and living here, out from under the dark cloud of shame and self loathing, restores my humanity thereby restoring my capacity for compassion and service. Thank you for lighting the way! ☯️💟☮️

I'm really enjoying this interview. I like honesty.
Whenever I look at getting involved in someone who would have access to my mind and heart, I always look at how they personally act in their day-to-day world. My first place to look is close relationships.
When I see no personal biography on the website, I start to feel uncomfortable.
When I see a quick marriage, a quick divorce and no public processing from a public personality, I feel more uncomfortable.
When I see a loyal partner who seems to be discarded when someone more beautiful or outwardly perfect comes along, and then brought back when the relationship with the beautiful someone fails, yet still is not honoured with a formal commitment after many, many years, I wonder some more.

    - You are always manifesting
    - Stop putting the law of attraction on a pedestal
    - Make what you want normal in your mind to have.

What of people who are mean? Like holding space and suddenly "self" harm happens. But it's not really our self
Is the unprovable one we were holding space for ? What then? I have the book btw just finding it kind of scary. I'm just beginning to love and be kind to myself. Kinda scared to open my heart to be hurt again. Don't know if I am communicating this right but it's the best I can.

Loving the mean too. Loving the scared too. Unconditional love is a process, yet such a rewarding one. Perhaps the mean one wants to be loved and be understood as to why she needs to be mean...

    as I watch this video,
    I think of him,
    and I write these words,
that I know he'll never read...
(unless by some insane one-in-a-trillion chance,
    he happens across this comment...
and even then, will he know they're for him?)
my dear, darling, sweet angel-devil boy...
HOW THE FUCK COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?
you have left me alone and abandoned,
    suffocating and breathless.
    you raped me.
    brutally.
you ripped my heart to shreds.
    stomped on it.
    spat on it.
    how could you?
how. could. you. do. this. to. me?
    to us?
    to our friendship?
    you raped my soul
    you shattered my heart,
    and who are you, anyway?
who the fuck are you to me?
    for 17-months,
you were my hero, my angel.
good God, how I loved you!
my soul, it knows your soul,
    from millions of lifetimes ago...
I'm sure of it. I feel it. I know it.
    even writing these words,
makes my heart skip a beat.
my soul, yearns, and dances, just a little bit.
    but then,
    you FUCKING left me!!!
    you just fucking abandoned me.
    it was vicious!
    and cruel!
    and brutal
    and violent
    and DRAMATIC!
    I can't process it.
none of it. not any of it.
    it's simply too much.
it hurts too deep inside of me.
    I hyperventilate with sheer panic.
    the grief: unbearable.
    the panic: suffocating.
and I miss you: so deeply.

As long as staying in the 3D reality there’s fear judgment conditional limitation misconceptions etc all the actions based on the byproduct of the human body mind. It’s time to move on to the 5D reality that dimension consciousness or call Christ consciousness that all about unconditional love and non judgment. Most important is realise and understand who you really are then everything become simple and see the ‘problems’ in the 3D reality.
    Gratitude with unconditional love
