I ordered a truck load of tools and supplies after watching this. The silver wire was the first to arrive. I already have a fire extinguisher :) Once I have everything I'll try making a ring.

I really like to use chips. Wire can be used in the same way I used the chips for the most part, you just can't place them under stuff as well. Solder paste works just I find myself using too little ore too much also it goes bad over time.
That was me still learning how to make videos and trying stuff out. I found that no matter what music I used in videos some would complain about it so I just stopped adding music at all to my videos. Sadly I can't go back and take the music out of my older videos.
All these years I thought there was only 1 type of solder. No wonder I've been puzzled at guys soldering stuff with strong joints, but in metal shop class as a teenager my solder joints were always weak. I really thought solder was a weak joint

Sadly math is needed to get the right size the first time. I did try to make it as simple as I could so you just plug in 2 numbers and you should be good to go 😁👍 I'm happy to hear you liked the video for the most part. I do have some TH-cam shorts videos that are all just jewelry making with not talking or math 😁👍
You can't really do metal working without files too well. I guess you can use sand paper or sanding sticks but files are kinda key. You can get a very basic set for like $10-30 that will work for a long time
Hmmmmm, not sure why you say there is not solder for copper. I use copper phosphorus, it doesnt contain any silver so even if I have to file after soldering the is not silvery residue. Just copper.
I have used that in the past on copper but it still left a small little line the was more silver that the rest of the metal. If the silver lines are a problem in my work I will just copper play it 😁👍

I want to start off by making dainty rings like these so my question is, and I dont know if you already have a video on this, but what wire hardness should I get to make dainty rings like these? The hardness will not matter when you're buying silver to be honest. As soon as you heat it up when soldering it it will become softer. I would just buy dead soft silver wire so I don't have to anneal it to bend it into shape. I want your rings are soldered you can hammer them to add a hammer texture and that will harden the metal You can even throw them into a tumbler with steel shot to help work harden them as well and keep the nice clean smooth finish on the outside.
I just heard you say something about the pickling and the different metals now I’ve recently bought some sheets of brass I have not worked with brass yet. But I have worked with sterling silver, fine 999 silver, Argentum silver 935, I heard you say make sure that I do not leave the brass in there too long or it will become brittle. Again how long should I leave the brass in my pickling solution and I use the same people in solution that you use. Or it was a pickling solution that was in one of your videos that you suggested I don’t know if you’ve changed to something different. But there’s been times when it’s late and I just finished at soldering some sterling silver pieces and what I’ve done in the past instead of waiting for them to come clean because sometimes it takes longer I’ll just go ahead and turn off my pickling .and I end up leaving it in the solution overnight because usually I’ll work until it’s late at night and then I just get super tired and I’ll remove it the next morning and clean it up. Am I damaging my sterling silver or my fine silver??? And my sterling silver sometimes is 935 Argentum.
Also I don’t use a charcoal block, I have a white brick I can’t think of what it is and I also have a thinner white block that’s larger and I do believe it comes in either soft or hard sink minus soft....and I forgot the name. I’ve seen you using the honeycomb blocks. I also have a tower with the metal grates. Also what is binding wire? It’s suggested to put around the charcoal block and maybe that white block that I use to keep them from cracking... and someone else uses some type of a wire where they made their own little homemade lift on the block instead of getting a tower with the metal grate. Anyway what is the material for binding wire to use while you’re soldering??? I’ll to go back to Amazon to see the name blocks but okay white magnesia block and soderite board soft. I also bought a rotating annealing pan with pumice Little Rock’s with a third hand. Do I need a charcoal box? And again they said to bind it with some type of binding wire. I just saw your likes thank you so you’re actually reading my long messages.
Do you think we should put some paste flux on them while annealing them? I bought some pickling flux to help with the fire scale. And I found that it does actually work. And then sometimes it doesn’t and I think that’s because of whatever type gauge thickness you’re using you still going to end up with some type of fire scale...
Oh you will see a small silver line in the copper and brass but I really don't think that matters too much to most people. Also this is just some options so people can learn the skills to make rings 😊👍
I seriously don't see the point to making a "D", it seems an unnecessary intermediate step. Just make it round, its just an easy to put the ends together and make them fit flush.
Are you speaking from experience or is this just an idea? I ask because you can do it all round if you have the right sizing and saw throw it and it all up. The problem with this you can make it too small or too big. If you don't have a ring stretcher/resizer this will be a problem and most people starting out don't. 😁👍 I was just trying to make this simple haha

When I said "it really doesn't do anything" was meant to mean that scrubbing will not cut the metal. I do know that you can mess up a file by scrubbing 😅👍
