Hi, excelent video! I bought this laptop about a week ago, and I'm looking to upgrade the RAM and SSD. Based on your experience, how does the default RAM perform? I was thinking of buying two 8GB DDR5 sticks to upgrade it, just to be sure. Also, regarding the SSD, does the motherboard allow for a second SSD so I can have two drives?
The default RAM needs to be 16GB or higher in order for games to perform well or in some cases launch. The motherboard doesn't allow for a second SSD. They had space but wouldn't solder a connector onboard to support an extra.
It's not that bad when idle or light gaming. It's only loud when it's being pushed to the max (i.e a super demanding game) or when max fans are enabled.
DDR4 for this RX 6500M model and for the 12th Gen and 13th Gen Intel and RTX 3050 models. For the AMD Ryzen 8645HS model it's DDR5. For the model I have, it has been discontinued.
Thank you! Great video! Do you like this laptop? How long have you had it? Is it holding up well operationally? And physically? Is it pretty sound? Mostly gonna use it for writing, browsing, watcing videos, and likely some video editing. Is Victus a good brand for this? I'm not an HP user and I'm nervous to buy one. Been using an Acer media computer for the last 10 years. Solid machine (Aspire E5 with dedicated graphics, core i5), but definitely outdated. As you can see I use my computers for a long time so I'd like something that may last at least 5 years. Not sure if they make stuff like this anymore, to be honest. 😢
I do like this laptop. I've had it since October 2023. Operationally, the battery is pretty decent (for a gaming laptop), though I wouldn't expect more than 4-5 hours of productivity. Anything gaming you'll need to plug it in. 🙂 But as far as physicals, it only has a minor dent in the rear vent but it doesn't affect the laptop in any way and it only has that dent because it fell while inside my backpack at my house one day.
To answer your question about your use case, it's good for all of those things, just with the video editing keep in mind it's not color accurate. So, if you are video editing professionally I would keep this in mind, otherwise for hobbyist video editing (like TH-cam) and everything else, it's fine.
@@TPOEYT Thank you for the info! About the physical part, I meant how is it in terms of durability? Sorry, I wasn't clear. Hmmm...the color reproduction doesn't bother you though for your videos? Cause you have to edit them. Is it fine mostly? Potentially would want to edit professionally. Some people recommend getting a monitor for that. Doesn't work for on the go, though. Also, was that 2 upgradeable ram slots on this? Or just 1 and the other is onboard?
Great teaching style keep making videos. Earned a sub!
Thank you so much! That means a lot to me, not just as a creator but as a person who wants to help and inspire others.

This was beyond helpful! Thank you!!! 🙏
You're welcome 😁🤗
Question! Question! Is the fan loud?

hey man, do you have a link to the ram sticks you got for this? my friend is trying to upgrade and we dont know what is a good set of sticks to use
I don't have the link sadly. Do you know which model you have? I can find a kit.
@@TPOEYT its the HP - Victus 15.6" Full HD 144Hz Gaming Laptop
Does it take DDR4 or DDR5? One or two models that are new take DDR5.
@@TPOEYT not sure yet, havent had the opportunity to open it up yet, ill say once we figure it out tho
nvm its DDR4, found it on its website
Do you you what Ram is compatible with this model?
DDR4 for this RX 6500M model and for the 12th Gen and 13th Gen Intel and RTX 3050 models. For the AMD Ryzen 8645HS model it's DDR5. For the model I have, it has been discontinued.
Should both ram be the same brand ?
It's ideal but it doesn't have to be.

Durability is pretty good. The video editing is fine mostly.
For a monitor, I would recommend it for color accuracy in video editing.
What exact model is it
15z-fb000 but sadly the 6500M model I have is no longer listed. The RX 6550 M model and RTX models still exist but I don't know their model numbers.
Would you know if it supports
1. 32Gb = 2 x 16Gb
2. 40Gb = 8Gb (built-in) + 32Gb added
3. 64Gb = 2 x 32Gb
?
It supports 32GB, 16GB and 8GB. I've never tested 64GB and it has no soldered memory.
