I have a question about this pedal. I know its now the amp, but where are you placing things like reverb and delay pedals on it? Does it have an effects loop for that?
12:12 with the EV got very 70’s Nugent. In general though, all the sounds have too soft an edge to them. I tried a 65 dream (as in bought) and it just didn’t sound like I had mic’d a decent Deluxe Reverb. It lacked a little in almost every aspect. Punch, dynamics, sweetness. I tried to stick with it for a while to see if I could find my way in dialing it and it just never came together. Tried it in amp, loop returns and direct.
How do you set the interface’s gain with this pedal? Is there a number on the meter you are shooting for, or 0 gain like the Neural DSP plugins, or just enough to not clip, etc…?
Can someone please answer this question: I see other companies like this coming out with single amp pedals. Why choose these instead of something like tonex, helix, etc. especially as much as they cost? I am fully willing to consider it, but when I could have an infinite number of amps vs. Just one.
Our goal is to absolutely positively nail, the perfect version of one amp per pedal. Many players have very specific amps that they want to use. We do understand where you’re coming from, for example, a guitarist in a cover band needs to cover a lot of ground. But we see lots of users using UAFX pedals together to accomplish this as well.
Simplicity is the main reason. There’s a lot of players who don’t want a million amps in a single pedal. All they want is something that they can plug into, just like the the real amp, and set their eq and volume and go. It’s especially easy for guys that come from having a lot of tube Amps, a guitar, and a pedalboard. So this way, they can replace their marshal full stack with this pedal instead, either for recording or gigs where they don’t want to bring a full rig. One thing is for sure, sometimes simplicity and limiting your options can make creating music way easier. There’s something to be said for just being able to plug in your guitar, open your DAW of choice, and go. All your pedals and settings are ready to go, and you don’t have to scroll thru a hundred amps you don’t want to use. Also, the UAD stuff is just really good quality. You are kind of paying for that quality and consistency. Where as if you by something like a helix, you may have to play around a ton to get a good Marshall sound that sounds anywhere as close to this pedal. But like I said originally, simplicity is really the reason.
@@UniversalAudio Guitars in any cover band should be going for a good tone overall and then nailing the song, not trying to have a patch per song with completely different effects. You'll never be 20 guitar players, you will always just be you.
@@anotheryoutubedExactly! I'm playing in a hobby level band, just for fun in a rehearsal space. Only using a xotic sl drive and reverb, it force me to use the volume control alot.
Using a real guitar amp is like unlocking the soul of your instrument. There's a certain magic in the way a true amp responds to your playing, capturing every nuance of your touch and transforming it into a rich, organic sound. Unlike digital emulations, which can feel sterile or lifeless, a real amp breathes and interacts with you, creating a dynamic relationship between the player and the music. The warmth of the tubes, the bite of the overdrive, and the sheer presence that fills a room cannot be replicated. It’s not just about hearing the music; it’s about feeling it resonate through your bones, vibrating with the raw energy and authenticity that only a real amp can deliver. Whether you're chasing the perfect tone or simply want to experience the pure, unfiltered voice of your guitar, nothing compares to the power and presence of a real amp.
When will we see an upgrade or addition of a 5k or 5000pf bright cap.. the 100pf that the pedal was modeled with just doesn't cut it for the cutting edge you get using the stock 5000pf bright cap... the Randy Rhoads, EVH or YJM tone can only be achieved with a 5000pf cap.. 100pf is cool but still love the Marshall Super Lead.. glass bottles on the finger tips sounds... bright bass notes not the flabbiness of a 100pf bright cap..
Yes, I understand I can have a Reverb pedal after. But why not have it it is already possible? I just gigged with it and the sound guys tried to use the room emulation but after few tries they just told me to shut it off because it sounded bad
The sound guys had no reverb unit to play with on their mixing desk? No outboard gear at all? Sorry, these can't be called "sound guys". What you need is a modeller with built in multiple effects.
Yes, there is no reverb. For early VH, use the “Brown” presets or “Mean Green Street”. “Brown Devil” = Running with the Devil (VH 1) and “Mean Green Street” = Mean Street (Fair Warning).
