    My first Innova disc was a Scorpion (purchased in 1985 before you young whippersnappers were probably born), lost it 3 years ago. My bag is all Innova from Beasts down to Aviars, the Valkyrie being the go-to on fairways. Us seniors are still having fun running the courses and I am a huge fan of Dave Dunipace, he’s accomplished more than anyone in the industry so don’t rag on the seniors. I realize that these are your opinions so they are appropriately taken with a large grain of salt.

    so, I bagged a leopard before your channel existed. It is VERY understable, cause it is really beat in. I throw the thing with 90 degrees of heiser, it goes to a slight anheiser angle. to put that into perspective, I throw a max of 220 in no wind. Side note: I hope to get a bunch of discs you mentioned in this video for christmas.
    Edit: WOOHOO i just put a basket in my front yard

    I love the destroyer...I bomb those things 500ft plus but you're right about the wraith most folks having slower arm speeds

    The all time "no surprises, get what you expect, point and shoot," Innova disc is probably the original Champion Teebird. It's like a hammer at a construction site: power tools are better and faster for many tasks, but the hammer is essential gear. The Teebird stays on whatever angle thrown, including flat, up to 300 feet. It requires no arm speed but resists torque very well if you do have speed.
    I've never thrown a Teebird3; they say it's great, but slower speed is what I like most about the original Teebird. How it lands matters and it is relatively graceful for a fairway driver.

    The Tern and the Wraith are my go-to drivers. I'm actually really fond of my beat in Mako. It holds whatever line I put it on very reliably. The Valkyrie is also a favorite. It was my go-to before I discovered the Tern. The Tern flips up and bombs, and is a great long flex shot disc. I throw primarily forehand for what it's worth.

    My first 3 discs were a dx wraith, z buzzz, and an aviar back in 2010. I was given the wraith by a friend who introduced me to the game, and I bought the other 2 discs at academy.
    I feel like the most under rated beginner driver from innova is the archangel. It effortlessly turns with minimal power. It isn’t good into wind and only comes in base plastic. I also recommend the sidewinder as a second option.
    I’ve been on and off playing disc golf, but recently got more serious into improving my game. The fastest disc I throw is still a wraith to this day. I had a big setback in march when I dislocated my right shoulder and switched to playing lefty. I’ve got all the flippy discs because it’s like being a beginner all over again.

    Jay feels so nice in the hand for me love it in star plastic for 330ft-350ft tailwind shots i need extreme accuracy on.. for me it flies like hyzer flip to forward pushing turnover more forward moving then turning over and i found a perfect domey champion Jay the thing is money for 350ft hyzer flips to flat with some fade

    Pretty good review overall, but don't sleep on the IT. Throws like a longer, skippier MVP hex. Perfect for trying to sneak in under low canopies. Also - did not see a GStar gorgon. Basically the Tern's more user-friendly little brother

    I dont bag many innova putters or mids but my drivers are mostly innova, champ leopard3 is my goto flippy shorter faireway then champ sidewinder for the straight 9 speed, my home course is basically an open feild with good elevation changes and i live somewhere that has prevailing winds so i actually bag alot of drivers coz depending on what direction the wind is howling, it can change my shot shape and direction quite drastically. so 2 wraiths, a gstar flippy boy and a star for those forehands bombs, 2 destroyers (one lighter beat in champ and a max weight star) and 2 bosses (halo and champ). trust me when i say, you need bosses if your throwing almost daily in a 20-30mph headwinds/crosswinds lol i rarely play in no wind conditions and my average max distance is 380 backhand (after 24 throws in 4 wind directions each). but living somewhere where theres only a PIAS that sells a minor selection of discs, def limits my capability to branch out to other brands thats for sure.

    Why do so few experts talk about disc weight? After years of throwing all 175g in lots of molds, I started throwing fewer molds but in 175, 168, and even 160g. I throw a 168 Pro Wraith and it flies like a 175 Star Mamba. Is it just me?

      I completely agree....I find mid 160's can get moving and are quite easy to throw.

    my champion Tern not even beat in for me flew like Calvins beat in 2015 Eagle where it hyzer flips and turns slowly to about 400ft if i throw it higher and faster it turns into huge 430ft roller.. i dont find much use out of it since i trust a FH much more then a 400ft hyzer flip turnover

  • @robby4770
    @robby4770 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Even if you already bag a wraith and destroyer I’d still recommend a term or shryke for tightly wooded shots you can’t send a fairway high on

  • @Gynan
    @Gynan 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I bag 4 molds. Destroyer, Sidewinder, Lion, and Aviar. Each of them in at least 3 different plastics. I've come to learn that less molds can give you more options when you explore different plastics and weights. I hit 530ft last week with my 162g star Destroyer. But when I want to throw 400ft accurately, I throw my 175g metal flake Destroyer on a little bit of anhyzer.
    However, I throw my Lions and Aviars more than I throw my drivers because your average course has mostly 315ft or less holes. 🤷

  • @OkieTradez

    my beat in champion firebird flies very straight with some fade at end but can turn over into headwind a bit so i trust the Thunderbird now its just better

    I live for the Caiman and Hawkeye. Caiman I personally believe to be the best mid range disc out there. The Hawkeye is just too buttery not to like.

    Don't get the Leopard hate, I still bag a Leopard3 and it its good enough of Ohn Scoggins, its good enough for me.
    Would love to have Halo Wraiths in the same weight progression as my Halo Destroyers. The Star Wraiths get beat in too easily, which is why I'd like to find them in Halo (but not just at max weight.)

  • @mvpnth831
    @mvpnth831 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Wraith is so money. I still bag a couple destroyers but I’m almost always reaching for my Wraith over Destroyer.

  • @OkieTradez
    @OkieTradez 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    the star Corvette is better than the Destroyer unless you need distance in headwind and if you need that then i recommend Tour Series Halo Calvin Destroyer the thing is dependable in the headwind for 450ft-500ft

  • @OkieTradez
    @OkieTradez 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Toro for sure for 200ft - 250ft shots and Caiman for 260ft - 300ft headwind shots

    The Wraith just isnt for me yet. I had to be honest with myself and understand I haven't gotten to the 11 speed yet. On a good day I can get my Beast and Thubderbird to cooperate, I went way down in speed and throw an Eagle as my primary driver - it matches my arm speed and I absolutely love it!

    a disc isnt too flippy if you have crappy form.. if you can throw over 500ft you have goo enough form that yes a disc can be too flippy in the sense its not trustworthy with accuracy unless you power down so much that hey why not power up a little on a lower speed disc with more stability..
