    I'd like to say.. I started with frisbee sports summer of 77... we chucked them whamo molds the 165g/140g/119g fastbacks for our sports... ddc, guts, distance, mta, freestyle, k9.... disc golf came in , using the 1st given name, "Frolf" (frisbee golf) my friends and I got to see this sport evolve in the Great Pacific Northwest in Seattle Washington. We were from Yakima (Central,Wa) and traveled to play and compete the Olympic Windjammers and the Seattle disc golf club...we learned from the seatteliates how to throw them but not like a frisbee... was hard at first but soon our flights were making it to the baskets.. 77 to current..... I did pro from 84 to 2003, masters div 2003 to 2011, and now 2011 current in the Grand masters div.. I am 57. Started at age 14. Frisbee is a good life, I'm so glad to share golf stories, where I traveled and give knowledge about the game. I now live in west state Colorado, I'm a postal worker, the western slope has great courses ready for all calibers. I am full blooded native American of the Navajo nation, being raised in the NW opened the door to many walks of life, I have experienced many paths with my golf bag on my side. Bored with what sport you're in? Seasonal? Covid? It's time to play disc golf. You'll drop weight, feel better,hear nature, see birds, hike, and it's a great way to make new friends. Win win situation! Walk well everybody! Blue Skeleton

    our world is so obsessed with credentials that it is common to assume that if you did not go to school or something, or do not work in that field, that you simply can not be qualified to do so. this might be true for average minds, but there are people out here , much like Dave, that have passion, and teach themselves these things. This is much more accessible today, in the internet age where if you know where to look, you can teach yourself about anything.

    Should have done the lineup of plastic as DX/XT then Pro/R-pro/KC and then Star/G-Star and last Champion. Other then that the plastics work fine for most and yes some like the Destoryer. The Flight numbers for Innova we introduced in 2000 though not put on the discs until 2013 or so on most molds that the plastic was not being stopped for a mold.

    Honestly I have some innova discs that I love, but they have some of the worst consistency from disc to disc. The plastic is always pretty good, but the flight is wildly different. I’ve been trying to diversify my bag, and I’ve really started to love mvp/axiom and latitude 64. They all make great feeling plastics and all fly very consistent. Latitude 64 specifically has won me over with several of their molds. The grace from lat64 may replace the wraith very soon. I’ve had a hard time finding a reason to throw my beloved wraith because I don’t want to lose it, and the grace is a perfect disc to fill that slot and not have to worry about losing it.

    Lightning Discs successfully counter sued Innova to avoid paying the patent royalty, thus the reason there are no patent numbers on Lightning discs.

    Innova's "Driver" Pro is a excellent value and more recent runs are almost indistinguishable from Star plastic as for looks and feel and very close to the same durability.
    Most disc golfers don't realize there's multiple types of pro plastic Innova uses, some know of R-Pro, aka rubber pro, but they don't realize the normal Pro comes in different general plastic mixes.
    KC pro is a hard tacky plastic that isn't very abrasion-resistant and can chunk/ gouge fairly easy in some cases. Still more durable than DX.
    Then there's the base putter Pro like the old Rhyno's were made of 12 years ago, very similar to today's JK Pro nearly identical.
    And my favorite driver Pro which is not marked on the stamps at all, it's usually reserved for 6 speed and above, however the V cobras a speed 5 mid-range has been run in the driver pro-mix.
    Driver Pro looks and feels just like star, smooth shiny yet tacky, the old driver Pro from about 10 years ago not so much, it was just a stiffer normal Pro material somewhat similar to KC Pro.
    It's kind of confusing but normal putter Pro is dam near JK pro,
    Old Driver Pro back maybe 12 years ago, very much like KC Pro, stiff and tacky someone susceptible to abrasion/ gouging.
    New driver pro mostly for 6 speed and above shiny smooth and tacky more abrasion and gouge resistant then the older driver Pro from yesteryear.
    Finally R- Pro rubbery and flexible, tacky doesn't gouge easy but does get slight dents and thin slices are possible also in some rare cases warping of the flight plate can happen on certain molds.
    To make it even more confusing the only three that are labeled on the stamp are R-Pro, KC-Pro, and JK-Pro.
    Don't even get me started on the unofficial different variants of DX plastic runs there has been over the years.
    Waxy
    Chalky
    Velvety (velour like)
    Very stiff and tacky
    on and on.
    Not all DX plastic is created equal, long ago there were some very nice mixes released to the public the current Thunderbird DX is decent for DX.
    I have some DX Eagle's from 2000 made with good DX that still fly great, and only lost a little low speed stability and almost no high-speed stability.

    The quality of the videos does not match the subscriber numbers, so I gave you a sub. Just a tip for the future, you might want to look into getting a better mic and a proper pop filter to record your audio, plus mixing it a bit better in post, like running it through a 3 band EQ and compressor.

    I wish the general community would take lone star more serious.... yeah, they seem to sponsor anyone by adding them to the ranger team... but their discs are incredible. You can't hate them for being geniuses at marketing... pick up some of their discs and try them. Get a Frio. its the best straight fairway driver on the market... and believe me when I say, I have tried them all.

    I thought he was going to explain why you can buy 5 of the same mold champion innova discs, and not one of them flies the same as another, but you can do the same with dynamic discs, and they all fly pretty close to the same.

    • @keepdiscgolfweird5879
      @keepdiscgolfweird5879  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The doth_savek video linked in the description tackles this exact issue. He shows how specific variations in disc wing shape (warping?) result in significant differences in flight.

    • @caseysmith544
      @caseysmith544 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is true with the faster 12+ and the fact some that should have been F2 molds tend to slip through the cracks more then with other brands.

    • @olympics1234567
      @olympics1234567 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@caseysmith544 The roc3 are consistent, but I have 6 roadrunners, 6 valkerys, 6 teebirds, 6 thunderbirds, 3 destroyers and not one of them flies like another. I gave away a purple tydied roadrunner that was more overstable than my most overstable destroyer. With latitude 64, and dynamic discs, I don't have that problem. I have extras of those and they all fly pretty much the same as each other.
      I like a lot of my Innova discs, but if I lose a favorite I can't depend on buying another one that will fly the same.

      @@caseysmith544 That makes sense. I played really bad Sunday. Lol. I play in a little group 25-40 people where everyone pays 5 dollars and 1 more if you want to be in the ace pool. They separate the pros from the amateurs and I'm amateur. The top 2 get a payout and people donate discs for some ctp win. I don't think I'll win because I'm 65 years old and have knee problems, but I might get the ace pool someday. There's 2 holes, 285 ft and 305 ft. that I've hit the chains on a couple of times. That's the farthest I can throw unless it's down hill. Then maybe 50 more ft. Both of those holes are slightly down hill.
      I know what I'm talking about isn't relevant, but I felt like sharing some disc golf talk. Lol.

    The flight number system... is it me or is innova the worst at actually using their own number system? Its like they just want the Leopard3 to be -2 turn but it just isnt. Same with the groove. They see a hole in the line up, make literally any frisbee and strap those numbers to it

    • @richc5825

      A buddy of mine gave me a Groove a few years ago because I'm a forehand thrower. Every time I threw that thing it just hyzered out at about 200'. A local Innova sponsored pro was there so I asked how to throw it. He tossed it toward a garbage can and "That will do." It is now hanging on my "I can't throw these" wall.
