    Thanks for this smart review. I bought a 2016 for 28k and it has never let me down. Always feels like I shouldn't be affording this car. The standard safety is very cool. I thought it was just a gimmick until I almost got into accidents by dumb drivers. And the seat belt always gives you a hug.

    Is it better to buy a maintenance package or extended warranty for it? Thinking of buying a 2017 model with about 50k miles

    In December 2016 Mercedes started installing the 9G Tronic into the C-Class in Europe. It's available to order now. Just try the configuration on their website. I had the 7G Tronic on order but have now changed it. The car will be in the UK end of January 2017.

    Pretty car! Am I the only person that likes this car MUCH better than the new E class? Styling cues look great on the C and the S, but it didn't translate to the E.

      No you are not alone! The new C300 looks way better than E Class. I went to buy E class and ended up getting this one. Although, E class looks great from inside, the outside is inversely boring.

    I just rented two C300s while on business trips just because I have one at home and like my rentals to be familiar, and just realized why I kept getting thrown off was because my car has the sport steering wheel and the others do not and it feels completely different but I had no idea lol

      Got my 2015 fully loaded c 300 for 34k with 17k miles . Sticker was 59k. I’m dumb and had to put crazy miles on it for work so In less than 2 years it’s got 73k miles already and it’s ran perfect . No problems except I had to replace a front speaker . I think the people at the detailing place where I bought it turned up the bass to max and blasted music and blew it

    This was the worst car I have ever driven. I currently drive a 2011 C Class and this was a HUGE dissapointment.
    I was never a fan of the "S" design and this new swoopy trend leaves me cold.
    The drivers driving position felt like I was cocooned in a cockpit and felt claustrophobic. I kept whacking my elbow on the centre console which irritated me no end because the seating position is too low ,even with the seat jacked up.
    Visibility was compromised and the car was so low I had to clamber in and out of it.
    Trying to reverse it was a nightmare.
    The indicator arm was in a different position and I kept accidentally knocking the cruise control on......another annoying thing about this car.
    Don't get me started about the infotainment system.........you need lessons on how this works and its the most user-unfriendly system you could ever imagine. Even turning the radio on was ridiculously fiddly.
    There is now no gearstick, instead another stupid stick on the steering wheel which felt cheap and nasty.
    I drove this new Mercedes for a month before handing it back. This car might be the bread and butter for Mercedes Benz but they have lost me. I have been a loyal customer for 14 years.
    I am still looking to replace my current car and am looking seriously at either a Lexus or an Audi.
    I am only in my 40's so potentially I have lots of years of purchasing ahead of me.
    Goodbye Mercedes!

    • @SDav21
      @SDav21 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Calvin Smith Have you actually driven it though? Because for some reason I find it hard to believe because switching the radio on or off is not fiddly. There is an on and off button right next to the Comand controller. Also, this is literally the first time someone said the seating is to low. And lol at considering a Lexus. They are ergonomic nightmares with their stupid joystick like controller. It's like Lexus puts their buttons in a grenade. throws it onto a blank dashboard and then leaves it where it is. A Lexus can't compete. And sorry but your "complaints" don't seem quite so believable to me.

    • @calvinsmith7250
      @calvinsmith7250 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      SDv21 If you had read my review thoroughly you would've read that I drove this car for a month. My comments reflect my personal opinion on how I felt about this vehicle and what aspects of it affected my overall driving enjoyment.
      I disagree with your assessment of Lexus and to paraphrase you, no other review of a Lexus has , to my knowledge ever desdiscribed their dashboard as " buttons in a grenade and thrown onto a blank dashboard". But I am not here to debate the pros and cons of another brand.
      At the end of the day its all about what car suits the buyer and why.

    • @IhateYoutube
      @IhateYoutube 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Correct it's about what suits the buyer. And I absolutely loved the "cocooned" feeling that you so hate. I felt like I was driving a proper sports car, that just so happened to have two extra doors. If I wanted pure luxury I wouldn't be looking at the C Class I would have went E Class but I wanted something smaller, more taut, more sport focused and the C43 fit the bill and I put my custom order in 3 weeks ago. :)

    Solid car but poor interior design. Shiny aesthetics on nonessentials like vents, seat adjusters, etc, that should fall on a driver's blindspot. Take some classes from Audi.

      you declare something subjective as tho its fact.
      I agree audi have nice interiors.
      For me its merc, audi then BMW for interiors.
      With my line of work I get first hand experience with them.
      Again for me merc wins hence I've just bought one.

    • @ekulenwaiku4654
      @ekulenwaiku4654 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mastodonseven Like I said, solid engineering. However, they try to win points with things that are irrelevant. My reasons are not subjective.
      Seat adjustment controls are not core driving elements to take up space, attention and embellishments to such a degree.
      AC vents are just vents...with such luxury one shouldn't even know or see where the air is coming from. I really don't understand the sudden craze with the vents. The same applies to speakers.
      Supposed virtual cockpit has a classic theme which is a far cry from Audi's they all rushed to copy. Audi's cockpit is full of originality with a techier and modern look 'n' feel.
      Less is more. Too many fanciful elements shouting for attention but having the same basic functions as those with less.
