- Sally Jean Mart struggled with infertility for years and finally resorted to adoption. But not just a regular adoption, she took babies and children with disabilities. 17 of them! From blindness to Cerebral Palsy, limb deformities, and Autism.....Down Syndrome and ADHD, and Spina Bifida. And that doesn't even scrape the surface of the emotional and psychological attachment issues that often come with adoption and previous abuse. Katie Mart, who was adopted at birth and is wheelchair bound, talks lovingly of her mother, who dedicated her life to kids who needed her 24 hour attention physically and mentally. You're about to meet ONE GRITTY MAMA!

Please refrain from background music. Sorry distracting unable to watch. I want to hear the interview.
I loved this interview with such a beautiful person! I love how she knows what isn't hers to fix, how she understands her adoptive dad's struggle, and how she has found her own strength.
What an incredible testament to her mother and family. Amazing! She's a beautifully spoken young woman ❤
I'm hard core crying right now. This story was so amazing to listen to, because she had an absolutely amazing mom. Please tell her thank you. Also thank you Julie for doing this.
Julie, what a wonderful episode. This had been my favorite so far. Thank you for sharing it with us💛.
Wow, such a testament to the true joy of living a Christ- like life. Thank you for sharing your family's story. You are an amazing woman and I hope all the best in your future as a teacher and with your fathers. ❤
This was a fabulous interview. What a beautiful young Lady. She just glows with love and the spirit. She had great parents. One couldn't do ut without the other. Julie you are a great interviewer. You ask questions and let people talk. They can feel you care. I think I needed this today.
I am astounded. This beautiful woman inspires me.
Far too many people think you dont know anything about kids unless you have your own biological kids. When its simply not true. Adoptive parents, foster parents, parental figures, all an example that you do not need to be a biological parent to know kids. How to care for them, love them. Based on the photos, I believe they are LDS. I can tell because I am also LDS and the temple photo is familiar! The Lord knows, He cared for those kids and gave them parents who knew how to care for all those children. They were meant to be theirs.
Thank you for this story. I resents with me on so many levels. We have bio and adopted kids. We have kids with different types of special needs, very similar to this family. Katie is a light. "I can't afford hard feelings." I need to make this my motto. Than you again. This was very timely and needed.
