    I am sick to my stomach. I think people in authority should be held accountable for what happened. I would sue all those who allowed this travesty to occur.
    I hope Om’s Law gets passed.
    God bless you🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏

    I could hear all this fine. Ohm's Mom is amazing to do this. I went through so many court dates and custody hearings. There was also lots of manipulation to the kids and me. When I started doing better his wife and him ramped up things. It was horribly stressful and very much affected the kids and I. My situation was not as much as she went through so I can't imagine all that. I will be calling my legislator and Senator.

    I passed this information on to an organization I have recently joined called Pro Life Utah. We work with women who choose life for their babies instead abortion, and some of these women have dealt with or are currently in abusive situations. It is absolutely essential this bill is passed!

    One of the hardest things in life is to understand how women don't get the true support they need. It is easy to judge situations that you haven't had to live. The truth is that until you are in the midst of a situation, you can not understand how it all happens. Things happen so slowly sometimes that by the time you realize what's going on, it's almost too late. We all need to give grace to each other and try to be supportive.

    When you said if you don’t understand “I’m thankful you don’t” hit me hard. I never know what to say to those people when they ask why I didn’t leave. Our case has been going on since 2014. He was able to ❤get custody 2019 right before than pandemic. He had more money than I did and that is ultimately why I lost custody. My oldest son ran away at 14 and my ex moved to another state while my son was on the run. The step mother and my ex had been very abusive and reports had been made by schools, teachers, counselors and law enforcement- all had been involved, no one was protecting him and I was not allowed to be around him unsupervised. He was locked in his bedroom For 6 months with a mattress and sheet. The room was locked from the outside. It was stripped of books, furniture - everything. He was given a bucket to use to the bathroom and was brought a meal once a day (he said usually oatmeal) locked back in. He ended up jumping out a 2 story window to escape. My son just turned 18 and found me (and is now living with me) he has not spoken a word to his father since he ran away- he had no idea how to contact him. How does this happen? No consequences for his father and step mother abusing him and leaving him behind when they move to a whole different state. I paid child support for all 3 boys - still. As long as I didn’t have any of my boys it was ok. I still worry myself sick about my younger two boys. He had made me out to be such a horrible parent. I have no idea how to fix this, he won’t answer any calls, text, emails or the parenting app we were ordered to communicate on. It’s awful. I’m in therapy and recently put on mediation to help me cope. My joy was being they’re Mommy. I don’t even know how to live without them and it’s been 4 years since I have seen or talked to them.

    What a strong beautiful mother. As a divorced mom, I know it’s terrifying and stomach churning to send the kids with their dad knowing he’s a good father - I can’t even imagine knowing that man’s mentality and being forced to send her children. God bless you. #HB272

  • @ThimbleFox350
    @ThimbleFox350 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    It's really simple to fix this. Kids know which parent they want to live with and should be fully allowed to decide whether or not they want to see their parents or not. Let the child have autonomy of choice. Let the child decide if they want the parent to have visitation or not. Courts would rather protect "parental alienation" over children's rights. Children aren't stupid animals they are small people fully capable of making a choice on which parent they wish to live with and they are fully capable of testifying about their own abuse.

      I couldn't hear her well at all, but I think she explained that part of the problem was Om chose to be with his dad, but was brainwashed, manipulated, "stayed" just like her- for the same reasons (trauma bonding).

      @@ImagesofJosephSmithJun. I can hear it fine and that's not what I understood from it. Her whole message was that he was killed under court ordered parental time.. so it was not a choice.

    • @brit4294
      @brit4294 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Such a good point. Not allowing the kids to choose who they want to stay with is not only such a huge waste of time and effort, but ends in tragic situations such as this case and as you pointed out this could all be resolved by this one change which would allow everything to be a simple straight forward process as well.

      @@brit4294 Having laws like this to protect children would have saved Grant and Gracie Solomon from their father. They BEGGED not to go back with him and were denied their own autonomy by the courts. It makes me sick.

      @@brit4294 Om's mother states Om claimed he wanted to be with his father, 56:53 and was brainwashed... "He was so coerced and so manipulated and so brainwashed at the time..." at 57:11 she talks about how Om stayed... just like she stayed, 57:18, "He really saved me..."
      It's heartbreaking, laws are confusing, but they need to change wording so it MUST be required to understand abuse, right now it's not, and although Om's mother told them EVERYTHING that the father did to her, her abuser was too smart to not leave a black eye or anything she could take as hard proof of violence, the court did order 50-50... it is bad, but sadly, I did find the exact timestamp where she says Om did choose his Father at one point, but that does not negate the issues with the wording of the laws that HAVE to change, this is horrible, but can save more lives!

    Thank you for doing this. The sound was really hard to hear, it was louder and then quieter and sometimes too hard to hear at all. Perhaps look into mic placement for future podcasts or new mic or ??? not sure, ha. :-)

      @ImagesofJosephSmithJun. 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Editing you can adjust volume to be louder in some places to balance out clips that had better sound (court room video segments (super loud)), took me a long while to figure this out, as people said I was too quiet, likely they were trying to not talk too loud. I had my volume up full blast and the heater turned on and I could hardly hear, so I totally agree.

    One recommendation if you want to take it, the images that are illustrative of what you're talking are really distracting, while listening to tou and your guest while watching you is completely fine. Also people Def like me can read lips. The pictures from the story that are real yes of course they really ad to the story!!! ❤🎉🎉

    This is such a tough problem in the world to fix! Especially when we have mothers AND fathers who are murdering their children. Then you have the parents that will lie on other parents to gain control over situations and accuse wrongly. It's super tough I am sure to decide what to do in these situations with parental rights.

    I ran into one of your podcasts and although I had a hard time hearing some things, I wanted to check your channel out. This is the video I chose. You are doing something important and it's important that these stories be heard.... but I couldn't listen any longer because the sound is so bad that I was spending the time playing with my volume button.
    I just couldn't stick with the video because I was losing so much of the story to low sound.
    I think it's important that you invest in better quality sound equipment so your purpose can be fulfilled. Keep up the good work.... but my advice (unsolicited) is to start investing in getting your message across.

    I admire, so much, this mom who has been through hell and is fighting with all her being to make change 🙏🏼 Protecting children is the most important we as adults can do. I also fully respect her decision to keep her daughters name out of the equation. Mom is telling her story from her perspective and her daughter deserves the right to tell her own, if, when and how she chooses.
    I know this isn’t going to be a popular outlook but I truly believe the church needs to change its regard toward women. The LDS church has many good values but women are taught that they are second to men, from the word “yes” in the Temple. Men choose their wife, women accept that they are chosen. Women are taught to listen and respect men and the decisions they make for women and the family. Women’s voices are secondary and with very little separation of church and state this becomes dangerous for women in situations like these.
    This, on its own, makes the job this woman is achieving in legislation so incredibly important.
    Second, confirmation bias is very prevalent in our church. We need to feel more comfortable in talking with people outside the church and gain perspectives that are not universal. Information is power and education regardless of where it comes from.
    Finally, I’m so sorry of the loss of your beautiful son. Truly the most tragic thing that a mom can endure. You have allowed yourself grace and use your immense love for him to do so much good. Thank you for your efforts, they are so impactful.
