At covid period india has shown to world that we are knowledge deriven people who use bioscience and biotechnology to develop vaccine robustly to serve our country people and to the world. After that world recognise india as the pharmacy of the world with showing vaccine diplomacy. however india having huge population around one-sixth of the world population for the mass population, india need to be become knowledge drive society in the medical sector, so we can treat our number of patience who are suffering from critical disease. Although we are spending around 1.5% of gdp, as per the many reports said that india needs to spend around 6% of gdp. somewhere biotechnology has emerg our health sector to deal with different disease like cardiovascular disease. pandemic unmasked our health infrastructure and give us opportunity how we can handle or tackle the problem which occurs frequently in the pandemic. we have to work more, for that need investment in the sector, support new entrepreneur and awareness at the grass root level at school and college level. it would be the one step towards biocircular conomy to achieve 5 trillion $ economy and be aratmanirbhar Bharat .

Biotechnology has applications in four major industrial areas, including health care (medical), crop production and agriculture, non-food (industrial) uses of crops and other products (e.g. biodegradable plastics, vegetable oil, biofuels), and environmental uses.

SIr over few days, its a contant problem of background noise and sound..its literally irritating. Please engage technical team to address our issues. Second, The show description is very brief..it should be little more detailed, atleast same as the introductory remarks by the host. Thanks.

biotechnology contributes 3% to the economy of india
Biotech comprises of sales tech, industrial biotechnology, agri tech, clean tech and waste & sanitation
Growth in biotechnology will have a cascading and a multiplier effect on the growth economy and will be a vital element in the path towards 5 trillion US Dollar economy by 2025
Primary focus areas of biotech are agriculture, health, nuclear and environment
Biotech is multidisciplinary and government is encouraging private sector to invest and grow in biotech - there are 4300 startups in India in biotech sector ,also govt. has created a pipeline of innovators as well as a pipeline to provide funding to the startups, add to this the infra (department of biotechnology has 16 autonomous institutions) and human resource development undertaken by the government to further boost private sector participation in biotech - at the international level too, government is carrying out government to government and ecosystem to ecosystem collaborations to share the best technology available in india in biotech as well as take advantage of the best technology available internationally and make in india facilitation cell for biotech has been established by the government to look after biotech
    Way forward :
    1. Huge investments are required to give a Philip to BIOTECH sector - private sector and global players would have to invest huge amounts, governments alone can't invest huge funds.
    2. swifter implementation of coordinated policies for regulation of the sector
    3. major emphasis of the policy making should be on - bio manufacturing, innovation, data sciences, clinical trials
    4. Every biotech product should be produced having global competitive advantages in terms of prices, quality and accessibility- costs need to be brought down, quality needs to be improved and volumes need to be increased
    5. Innovation has to be based on the problem we are facing
