    These are the only definitive instructional videos for these moves. Repetition, close-ups, slow motion and clear explanation. Thank you so much.

    Your lessons are so helpful. I've been a beginner for the past two years (had long off ice time due to surgery on hands) and am AGAIN getting back onto ice. It's difficult as I didn't skate as a youngster, hence, no muscle memory. My biggest challenge is overcoming or learning to work with fear of gaining speed. Going to begin lessons again and have more ice time. I love watching your videos and you explain details well.

      Sorry to hear about your injuries, we wish you a speedy recovery. There is a part of our brain that tries to keep us from doing things that could potentially injure us. Children don't seem to have this as well developed, hence they fear nothing but get hurt more often (on average).
      As for skating, the danger is real, but fear is a choice. Myself (Oleg), I once broke my ankle and got a plate surgically attached (with screws) so that I could fully recover. I do feel fortunate though, as I got hurt doing a swing roll. When I was recovering, I realized that there is no such thing as safety, so I lost my fear. I knew then that I would get hurt from time to time, but if I wanted to be a skater, I would simply have to deal with it as it comes. I refused to let fear or my experience hold me back.
      As for falling, in practice it's quite common. If I fall, I use that knowledge to understand how that section or element can go wrong and what I need to do to avoid it from happening. I know skaters who are more careful and fall very rarely. But as a result, their falls usually are catastrophic and nearly each time result in emergency room visits. I am not advocating falling, what I am advocating is not letting your fear hold you back.

      Ave Guevara omg I feel the same way. The fear of speed is just not going away.

      Lennieth, have you skated for a long time or are you just starting out?

      Thank you Oleg for this very helpful insight. Now that I know our brains try to keep us from doing injurious activities, I will choose to override this when confronted with it. Thank you, this is VERY HELPFUL!

      Ave Guevara well. I started 10 years ago at the age of 30 for 6 months. Then I had my kids and just got back to skating since last October. What about you?

    Thank you for posting this! Working on Junior moves rockers and super stuck on Rocker Foxtrot to finish my silver dances. I’m excited to try more rockers with your info. That back shoulder after the turn is soooo hard to keep back!

    One thing I noticed about doing rockers is that slow entrances don't work well. More than any other turn in skating, it seems rockers need a reasonable speed to carry the turn through and hit good edges.

    • @kseniyaOleg
      @kseniyaOleg  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's true, doing anything that requires precise edges slow makes it harder to do well.

    High Kseniya and Oleg !
    Which one- foot- turn is the most difficult one ?
    Maybe the Backward outside rocker ??

    • @kseniyaOleg
      @kseniyaOleg  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi G Imre, it varies form person to person, as well as what you do and don't work on. I (Oleg) would say the hardest turn to get clean would be a forward inside Bracket, as very often the exit turn dips to an inside edge briefly before returning to and outside edge, instead of the exit turn being a clean outside edge. But like I said, it's really what you do or don't work on.
