John Blanke: The Black British Tudor Musician!

We all know how hard it is to ask for a payrise! But imagine living in the Tudor era and asking for a payrise from a blood-thirsty British king! Enter John Blanke - he was a black, Tudor trumpeter in the royal court of King Henry the VIII. Henry VIII famously had six wives, two of whom he had beheaded! But he was so fond of John Blanke that he doubled the musician's wages! Find out about John Blanke's life in this video.
