At 32:15 it is mentioned that Katharine's company would have made it to Ludlow by the start of the following year, but wasn't Lady Day the "New Year" back then? It wouldn't have been the nexy year for a few months 😅
OOPS sorry wrong Prince. I put my foot in it there thinking it was Henry VIII's son with Bessy Blount. My most humble apologies to all who spotted the mistake.
Wait...when he said "they probably tried to have a baby," was that just a throwaway comment about Katherine's not being pregnant and the issues that may have caused, and he didnt think of the implications of his statement, or is he saying that, from his very knowledgable perspective, he actually believes the marriage was consumated????
Oh for sure. He would've stayed with Katherine their entire lives. I'm sure KoA would've made him a strong leader because she was the daughter of strong Monarchs. There would've been no 6 wives though 😕. Maybe Arthur and KoA would've had more children 🤷♀️... it's always nice to think about but sadly there is no historical fiction written about it and hardly any fanfiction. 😢
I was actually thinking of making some fanfiction about historical events like that. Interesting to wonder what England would have been with the King Arthur. England would have remained Catholic. More than likely no one sitting on or around the throne now would be there today. @@NessaBear90
Henry viii was a child under 10 yrs at that time i doubt he killed his brother who was days ride away especially when life changed completely for henry when he went from spare to heir
Arthur was trained and disciplined by men to be king while Henry had a much easier life, very much in the company of women. Why would he be jealous of Arthur?
I think Henry very much resented having to replace his brother and would have traded the kingship in order to keep him alive so that he could keep on with his life of freedom and athletic pursuits, such as jousting and hunting. Just a thought I had.
I could listen to Suzannah's voice forever.

At 15, maybe Arthur has finished or even begun puberty. That could explain why "Nothing happened" in the marital bed.
Good afternoon from the sunny SF Bay Area. I love this new podcast, really wonderful!
You couldn't get a worse king than Henry VIII. Tyrant and wife killer. His court must have been an unstable and dangerous place
Would Arthur have been a better husband than Henry if he had lived.

@@NessaBear90 ohh a book about their “lost love” story would be wonderful!!
But most importantly of all definitely a better king.
Quite a challenge to be a worse husband than fat Henry!

I love history
Me too
wasn't the first son of henry i also named arthur but also died first?
btw, why no video?
No, Henry 1 did not have a son named Arthur. His son who died was William, Leaving his daughter Mathilda as the heir.
Arthur could not have inherited the throne as he was illegitimate. So Henry would have become King anyway..
A theory about Arthur’s death that I’m thinking of, is that Henry VIII had Arthur poisoned due to jealousy.
