Today was my first time hearing this song, being my first year of listening to Bruce Springsteen. I couldn't stop with such beautiful and powerful emotions, and I found this video cover, and manage to find the movie (Sunrise, 1927) on TH-cam. I watched the whole thing. I come back to this video now, and...am I just tearfully happy to be alive to feel this.
It s actually a suicide song… but the boss does his own thing and does the song itself justice…. But yeah great song! And the boss got his own bangers as well :)

Ghost Rider is another BANGER, along with Alan Vega doing his own version with a rockabilly twist on the album "Collision drive." Magdalena 83 & 84 are also brilliant. Never thought i would hear Bruce Springsteen cover a Suicide traxk; but this is very good! 👌🏻💚
The footage is from "Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans" {1927}. An outstanding silent era film that still resonates today, at least to me. Springsteen was a big fan of Suicide, surprisingly, the band that penned this tune. Outstanding use of film (highligts) and song!! Love the Boss!!
Beautiful man, genius edit. I was totally unaware of this. Late but still, RIP Vegas. Moving interpretation from Springsteen. The ability of music to reduce one to tears never fails. When Bruce did this in concert at the ACC here in Toronto years ago I was in the 6th row from the stage. He stared directly at me and never once turned away or looked away from me. It was very uncomfortable but I felt he was trying to tell me something. It was the single most moment I will always forever remember from a concert experience. I read years later that if he feels he is connecting with someone he will give them constant eye contact. I think he was connecting with me that night.

Fantastic job. Very touching montage and clearly a movie I already want to see just from the raw emotion expressed without words. This has been a favorite song of mine since I first heard him do it live.
The song is of course great. This video is astonishing and caused me to cry. The dark, black and white landscape is harrowingly dreamy and draws one into the nightmarishly loving possibilities. Being in love with someone deeply but also being terribly tormented by one's mind. Wanting to love desperately and wanting to hurt someone as well. Being able to be incredibly fearless when someone you care about is demonic and dangerous. Having ultimate compassion is the greatest, most free love. This video, together with the song, has a very powerful message. Thank you!
Song released as Alan Vega’s 70th birthday limited edition ep on Blast First Petite label. The ep also included Suicide’s version of the same song and Beat The Devil performing Mr Ray. Very rare. Very cool stuff.

Así cantada por Bruce Springsteen me parece una bella canción que se canta a modo de nana linda pero que no va para dormir a un bebé ( aunque si tuviera una hija no dudaría de cantarla) ...en este caso a alguien a quién se quiere y se ama para que siga soñando y siga manteniendo viva la llama del amor. el trozo de película es magnífico....muy adecuado... el amor y el desamor y como puede regenerarse a su vez el amor con un amor que llega y te hace olvidar y sanar y curar. A mí personalmente me parece cuanto menos muy apropiado a todo lo que siento y recuerdo en estos días.
