Being from Kansas I have to fish ponds and Lakes all the time. I am looking forward to trying this tactic as soon as possible.

Oh that's a perfect scenario for leeches. You'll do well, and fish prey on them year round so long as there isn't too much ice. You might find some cold weather success on leeches down deep.

But I like your tips. Nice to remember to let it sink after the cast…. Ps I fish 40-5-0 days a year on still water lakes… love the leech

At $80-$120 for line, I really can’t afford (my wife would shoot me), 3 or 4 different sinking lines…

Well what I mean is, you'll buy a line - fish it - wear it out and eventually you might determine which is best. If you are new to lake fishing it might be impossible to know on your first line which is best. I personally prefer a clear tip vs. a full sink, most anglers prefer a full sink. It may take a couple of seasons to decide.

As a relatively new fly fisherman the hardest thing for me is the strip set. I’m so used to lifting the rod with enough energy to drive the hook through steel.

I have never fished a sink tip line with leeches or nymphs on still water. My flies are weighted and have a predictable sink rate. What do you see as the advantage I may be missing out on by not using a sink tip line? My fishing partner uses sink tips, but our catch numbers don't vary discernably. What are your thoughts on leeching with floating lines? Great content. Always a joy to watch an accomplished fisherman regardless of technique.

Great video! Question though. Are you using your hip pack as your wading belt or is your belt underneath it? Cause I have the exact same setup and notice my belt and hip pack are often causing issues with eachother

I am that day, it works pretty good. I agree on the binding between a thick wading belt and waist pack.

Great instructional vid…as usual ! Want to get your opinion on sink leaders…like the Rio Versi-leader vs using a sink tip line in certain situations. Spent many years fishing with floating line with little streamer experience. Heading to Alaska in late June and wondering if this would be appropriate for Leech and minnow patterns. As always your content is fantastic!

Great video and content!!! I bought a sage 2 wt 10 ft esn rod and esn reel from y’all. I got to the creek, took my esn rod out of the sock and rod tube and noticed the second eyelet was missing from the tip section piece. I called sage and they are fixing it for free. They are trying to get it back to me before my tournament that’s on the 23 rd of this month. They think the eyelet just came off of the blank and not any of my fault. They offered to send me another esn rod until they get mine fixed. I was impressed!!! I didn’t need them to do this as I have another euro 2 wt. Know this is top shelf customer service!!!!
