I have a 2022 macbook air M2 and i run VMware fusion had to jump through some hoops but it works fine, the only issue was that Burp Suite wasnt working at the time last year but now portswigger has an arm version that works now, I also tried the UTM way, Parallels, and VirtualBox that was over a year ago so maybe they have changed some things each had different drawbacks at the time. The only thing I use my macbook Kali VM setup above is for HTB or TryHackMe and learning & studying When Im doing Pentesting or Hacking I also use my bare metal kali laptop always just like he said all the tools work, I got tired of spending day troubleshooting and reinstalling stuff on both Mac or Windows.
The good old Linux community leaving you hanging huh ? You can run Linux as you OS in a virtual machine or a live USB (uses the computer’s hardware but the memory used is a usb ) Running it on the bare metal means installing Linux on the machine.

@@andrewhelbling4823 I have an MSI gaming laptop that I run bare metal Kali with no issues, I have also done same on a couple Lenovo Thinkpads as well get an old T470 or 480 for cheap , get ram , ssd and bare metal kali runs great
@@XxmedogamerxX898 بصراحة في النهاية أخذت لاب توب من شركة ASUS بناءً على توصية أحد الدكاترة عندي في الجامعة. فعلاً الجهاز ما قال لي لا في أي شيء سواء للدراسة النظرية أو حتى التطبيق العملي في مجال الأمن السيبراني. لكن وبصراحة كان في مشاكل واجهتها مثل أن البطارية تقعد معي من ساعة ونصف إلى ساعتين في الشغل المتوسط هذا وأنا ما ثقلت عليه مرة. والمشكلة الثانية والتي ممكن البعض ما يعتبرها مشكلة والتي هي تحديثات الويندوز. للأسف كل ما أحدث الويندوز وأنتظر تحسينات أكتشف أنه لم يتم إضافة أي شيء ومو بس كذا حتى الأخطاء البسيطة التي أحياناً تعكر يومي من كثر ما تتكرر من يوم ما شريت الجهاز، ما انحلت رغم أنه جاءت عدة تحديثات. لكن وبصراحة حتى بعد كل الذي قلته لك هذا ما أقدر أقول لك اشتري هذا أو ذاك لأن، أنا ما جربت الماك وما أدري ممكن تكون فيه مشاكل أكثر من الويندوز وخاصة في مجال الأمن السيبراني، وممكن يكون أفضل ما أدري. ومعلومة بسيطة على السريع، أغلب الدكاترة الذين في المجال عندنا يقولون عادي راح يمشي معاك الماك بوك من أبل في المجال، لكن راح تواجه مشاكل غير التي راح يوجهونها زملاؤك لذا لازم تبحث بنفسك ما نقدر نساعدك لأن فهمنا كله في الويندوز. وأسأل الله لك التوفيق مهما كان خيارك.
Yes, still the same. Parallels allows you to run Windows 11 and Kali but there are limitations. I have no idea when or if Redhat or even Windows server will ever be supported on these chipsets
if your worried about the FBI stealing your laptop then no. otherwise go for it. but if you are going to run if from a usb make sure its usb 3.0 and use Samsung or SanDisk brand usb sticks
@@dreamybull1509 im new. So if i bought a thinkpad and just wnated to scan into my network and crack my passwords etc i could still have a regular thinkpad and hage kali on a usb that i would just plug in?? That would be my virtual box sorta speak like termux etc?

I think there are enough ARM distros for M! not to be a problem, and every packet you can compile from source will work.

I have a few classmates who have Mac’s and they work just fine using UTM
For me MacOS and Linux all the way because it's UNIX based
VMware Fusion Pro or Parallels Desktop for ARM based Kali on Apple Silicon Macs.
VMware is a good selection instead of Parallels because it’s not free. And VMware works fast. But in these days you can boot ubuntu etc. on your Macs.

bro im using m1 air with perfectly working utm welp you cant really install vm box due diff in mechanism but mine is working fine asf
I user the m2 Ultra for a time in school and virtual box was Running with 1000+ lags and it was terible to work with it
