If it's a lighter paint app you can use acetone (aka nail polish remover). But if it's heavy duty stuff you may need old boy here's method. I have a thicc paint app to strip soon so I'm going to give it a go myself.

acetone or lacquer thinner. Both work. Use sparingly.
