You're trying to change German food instead of changing your pallet. My family is all German. I was born in Germany because my Father was stationed there during the Berlin airlift. German food is not not hot! My grandmothers, Aunts, and my mother are rolling in their graves. All you need is salt and pepper. The flavors change with the different meats and vegetables.
@@vickihandel3620 Most likely. Just like Asians westernize their cuisine when they open a restaurant in Europe or America, Europeans "easternize" their food when they go to Asia.
As a long time follower, welcome to Thailand where I've lived for a few years. One thing overlooked is the amazing desserts here. They have less sugar than its American counterparts. And...beware of the heat while eating!
Went there many times and was a regular goto for me when I loved there 2 years ago. There is also a hotpot, bbq and sushi place in the night market beside the Chiang Mai University for 239 baht worth a try as well and Shabushi which is a common chain found in all the malls in Thailand. Safe travels and enjoy.
@joelhansen Now, I'm not from Germany but I am from Norway and we have alot of the same dishes here. That stuff is not supposed to be oily. We don't use any oils in sauerkraut for instance. So I'm guessing the oil is there in that restaurant for you to get full quicker.
The food looks delicious - especially the pork leg. You’re absolutely right - both Thai and German cuisine use a lot of pork. The simplicity of German food is part of its appeal. Pickled vegetables are incredibly delicious, too. 😊
On the contrary, it's one of the best ways to promote the business!!! Its a super smart thing to not only host him but make him feel like a king for $8
You don't know the business. Would you let him eat at an all you can eat buffet at your restaurant. No you wouldn't. That's why he's doing most of those in different countries now
I have been watching you for years. You are a great creator. You are humble, kind, polite, positive, handsome, pro eater and i love your travel vlogs. Can't wait for your new channel. Love from Oshawa, Ontario.
Have you ever put salt on watermelon, i love it, everyond thinks im wierd, my mom does it too, as a kid my grandpa, my moms dad, would do it, im 43 been doin it since im about 6 lol, it amazing especially on a nice sweet watermelon
I had a layover in Germany for a few hours. Discovered the hot dog truck. Ate one. Came back. Got another one. Then ate a third one before I left. I'll never forget how good they were.
Hi Joel :) I think a lot of us Germans would'nt eat from this Buffet. You HAVE to come to Germany! The food you got there isn't compareable with the real Food you will get here in Germany. Here are also a lot of Food Challanges you can try. We hope to see you here soon 😊
I hope this place has A LOT of customers!! Looks like something I had once with family about 30 years ago in Spain, EVERYONE was VERY VERY ILL!! I envy your constitution😉
A number of over weight German residents eat at this fantastic restaurant often While they lined up for starters and soups I started on the desert as not to miss out . A lot of Bang for your Buck !
Joel, love yr content!!!! Oh, and btw, what u referred to as ham was actually ox tongue. We have it with strong English mustard and condensed milk as a dipping.
I agree that I haven't had cabbage salad with oil before. I would think cucumber salad would be made with sourcream rather than mayo too. You really need stone ground mustard or spicy mustard with your sausage or brats though. Boo to yellow mustard.
The food in Thailand is infamous for being really cheap. Never visited myself though. Also an extra plus they had ketchup and mustard ready for Mr Hansen 😀
You the man getting there to the 1MILLION mark. 20 Million Calories collected along the way inconsequential. PORK KNUCKLES in PRAGUE were amazing as well. Please visit.

Some German Food is bland. Well, I guess that's why they developed some great tasting mustard.

thank you planning to go to chiangmai and i will definitely go here!
German food is not bland at all. good quality ingredients and fresh means you don't need to over spice things.
as i hold a UK pasport and from GER ex RAF baby hope the food was good my friend, it was for me back in 1965 😁😁😁
Listening to Western American style music while watching a Canadian eat at a German buffet in Thailand. We truly live in global times. 🙂
I thought the same thing. Should of played um-ba music and not some western 60s sounding music.
Food is peace, bro.
he basically sitting with the internet 😂,
Yeah sauerkraut is definitely not supposed to be oily. I'm pretty sure German cuisine doesn't use a lot of oil in general, especially on salads.
Absolutley right. I am from germany and is there oil in Sauerkraut then is something wrong
I wonder if the oil is to please the residents of this country and what they expect on food?

also I had German grandparents- we never had brown gravy for anything lol growing up ? I dunno but that was my experience as a kid
@jesselagendijk5896 saurkraut is never oily, and never cooked to mush.
Germany would be a good option to set new records at eating contests there are a few in Germany. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪

Buffet food usualy doesn't have 'outstanding' quality to it, but it's still... ALL YOU CAN EAT. it's a solid 6/10
I remember 3 dollar buffets at Circus Circus in Vegas. But 8 bucks is a steal for now a days.
I have been watching you for years. You are a great creator. You are humble, kind, polite, positive, handsome, pro eater and i love your travel vlogs. Can't wait for your new channel. Love from Oshawa, Ontario.
Never seen a German buffet before but it looks impressive as hell. I've never seen deserts so plentiful and good looking at buffets.
For real. The price is worth it just for desserts if they are good.

It's raw pork and onion that you spread onto slices of french loaf, very nice.

With so few options, how will you ever make it worth 8$??? wow, nice looking spread!
Do you think they add oil to keep things from drying out? Although it would effect the overall flavors.
Green Tabasco is good on everything
