You can only eat one for the rest of your life, gravy or Ketchup ? 😮
Gravy, there are so many different gravies.
Gravy
Gravey
Gravy, because there's many kinds of gravy and ketchup is ketchup
Ketchup!
The idea of eating 12lbs of food in one sitting is absolutely insane. Beast.
Right? Don’t think I eat 12 lbs of food in a few days.
🙏
@@lorigravelin2081even that is a lot. Typical portions for the average person who LIKE to eat is like 2lbs a day. That's still basically a week if you do eat that much haha
Facts 😂 I can't even eat a pound of steak and some rice in one sitting I'm so proud of this guy every video 😅
Yea idk, I could probably eat both my cats if need be….
Baguette on a roast?? They are just trying to bulk it! Great job, Joel
Agree 👍 nothing to do with a traditional roast. Tactics
🙏
Exactly , I was wondering about the baguette and cauliflower cheese , yep i think they were trying it on with the 2 add ons 🧐
@jude9304 cauliflower cheese is a frequently apart of Sunday roasts.
I dunno I've been known to mop up the gravy with bread and butter so maybe that was their take on this
Gravy makes a roast dinner, and lots of people eat their roast in a bowl so you can have everything swimming in it.
A baguette has no place on a roast, and cauliflower cheese is the only way to make cauliflower tasty 😄.
Amazing effort as always, and I’m glad you’re loving the UK.
the english aren't going to blend cauliflower to the consistency of whipped potatoes but yeah, cheese does add a taste, otherwise, what's going to make cauliflower palatable? sorry js i can't even enjoy seeing you eat any vege that is normally steamed, with no season or sauce
Yep, baguettes are just there as a filler to try and stop the challenge. A bit underhand in my opinion!
Hahah. I thought I was the only one to use a bowl. It's almost like a stew. Well... I guess it's the same actually
You need try aloo Gobi. Fried cauliflower it's awesome
The baguettes had nothing to do with that meal. Good watch 😊
I've eaten Sunday roasts all my life and never seen it with bread, never mind a baguette. Well done bro.
bread and butter is normal for a roast
ive never had bread and butter wit ha roast but at the end of the meal i do use plaint bread to soak uip the gravy that is left
Joel is the only person that can burp in a public restaurant and nobody says nothing. As they shouldn't. 🤣Let that man put in his work. 🗣️Compliments to the chef.
💯 agree
🙏 Thank you
“Nobody says nothing”. Patrick, did you teach this guy how to speak. I guess morons attract morons. Ignorance is bliss….therefore you two will be the happiest pair of idiots around 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Compliments to the idiots!!
That shows how great of an eater and a professional you are Joel when you can be presented with something you don’t like at all and just get through it no problem and without a stumble
to be fair, he did show a disdain for it, because he doesn't like gravy he tried earlier to save face, but it came out in the end, no problem, though, at least it was his friend and team mate to take down all that bread...there is that, right?
No, to the baguette with Sunday dinner. The were definitely pulling a fast one xx
As an English person, it makes my heart warm to see you over here and that you're so so respectful. 💓
Did you get the 200 quid? 😊
I can tell just by looking, that the volume and weight of potatoes TRIPLED the amount of meat/protein on that platter. At first glance, I thought it was a bargain for £50. But after holding up that paper-thin "steak", I knew that the accompaniments (veg/starch/carbs) were the HEART of the challenge. Good on you Joel. I couldn't eat THAT amount of potatoes under threat of death--WITHOUT all the rest...
Yeah i couldnt eat half of that plade if my life would depend on it....i guess I'm not playing that game!
Yes this is not a roast. If the meat is not cooked off the bone it's not a roast. Chicken and beef steaks are more BBQ territory.
So odd to see someone eat a Sunday roast without pouring gravy all over it. 😮❤
A Canadian man that does not like gravy 😂. I believe gravy is on poutene.
If your food is so bland that you have to smother it in gravy, you better hope the gravy has taste. That Brit Sunday Roast is usually tasteless.
I’m American and was like oh no Joel use the gravy all over especially on the puddings
@SundraTanakoh you've obviously not had a decent roast!😂
@@SundraTanakoh Totally disagree lol, I'll just assume you've not had a real Sunday Roast.
You ate that bread like it was nothing!! gravey, GRAvey, GRAVEy, GRAVEY!!! Good work Joel.
That was absolutely mind-blowing, one of the most impressive feats of competitive eating I have ever seen!
LOL that was enough roast for a month of Sundays. I think I almost slipped into a diabetic coma😵 just watching you eat all that.
So hilarious how the gravy was his nemesis😂. He was moaning about the gravy the whole way through. The rest of us are probably looking at those damn baguettes as the villain in this meal.
@@superNowornever they never brought him the spoon
You and beard need to team up, you guys be unstoppable
We have done a video together :)
@@JoelHansen oh nice! Didn’t know I’ll check it out!!
Him and molly I want to see think they did a group one but not one together
@mithrandir4074 Joel can just put away pounds of food. I love watching Beard but when it comes to pure mass of food Joel wins.
Baguettes are not part of a Sunday roast!! That was unfair for them to add it to the challenge but you did amazing!!! Xx
Joel you make me laugh so much with the amount of English mustard you can eat. 😂❤
No bread with a Sunday roast!! The only meal we have bread with is a breakfast or soup .. sandwiches doesn’t count as a meal to me before anyone jumps on that 🤣🤣 great vid Joel 👏🏻🙌🏻
@stephennisbet9365 my family usually have some form of bread with dinner. Like biscuits or just a slice of bread and butter
Yorkshire pudding is NOTHING like any pastry!! It’s like a pancake batter poured onto very hot oil and it puffs up and cooks - yummy 😋
I think it's similar to an American popover.
YEAH THEY ARE SO GOOD I WANT ONE NOW
The ones on the video are frozen ,they're not proper yorkies
I love all your commentary your not only a food challenger your also a food critic plus you know your spices keep up the good work 😊
Man you can't have an English Sunday roast dinner without gravy , that looked an outstanding roast . 👍😋😋😋
Ham steaks are available in the US. ❤❤❤ great work Joel
🙏
Wow - This was a truly, behemoth challenge! You are superhuman, Joel! 😮
He had 24 pounds of pulled pork recently.
So this should be a walk in the park. XD
🙏
First time I seen you sweat.OMG😊😊
That’s what I would call “ Biting off more than you can chew 😅😅😅😅”
Funny. Responding once again to only people pumping your tires. Pathetic human being you are Patrick.
Joel, I've been watching you for a few years now, I gotta say: "You sir, are a savage."
🙏
I love cauliflower cheese and broccoli cheese... Well done Joel...👍🇬🇧
Joel! Welcome to England buddy! So happy you came and experienced our tradition food 🙌🏽. And can I just say I actually like how you explain the flavours and experience please dont ever change that. Love your work, keep em coming brother! 💪🏼
You think this was a traditional roast? I've never seen roasts being cooked on a BBQ? It's meant to be roasted on the bone in an oven. On the grill is a cop out. Steaks are a cheat.
I'm from Wales and I'm glad you enjoy a lovely Sunday roast! Minus the gravy 😉😂
Enjoy the UK bro! Love these episodes while you're here ❤
Your reaction to gravy is like my reaction to ketchup. Every time I watch you eat with ketchup, that would be your reaction to gravy.
That's enough food... 😮
For our 8 person holiday dinner 😂
Merry Christmas and safe holidays to you Joel 🌲 J &EP
Happy holidays!
I love your descriptions of the food. I watch these videos to enjoy the food vicariously through you!
Also, probably the longest outro ever lol
Ive noticed in the last year or so that how you have Up'ed your game, is with time. You have always been able to finish a big meal, but your speed has really, really increased... Amazing job, Joel!
Joel, I'm very surprised that you don't like gravy that much! Especially with all of the challenges that you've kicked butt on in the southern United States. Learn something new everyday.
And what we would do where I'm from in Norway is to mash up the potatoes with a fork and blend the gravy in along with some optional salt and pepper!
🙏
Ohhh yeah!
Get some mint sauce on there too
Same in Poland
For sure! And anything else like peas that mash easy go in it as well!
Joel never blends everything together. It's criminal if you ask me especially for a roast. It has to be all the trimmings together. However all those different rich ingredients together might be an assault on the stomach and put you in to a commatose sooner.
Your facial expressions are one of a kind, joel you are i beleive, a guest of HONOR no matter where you go.. love your videos and professionalism
Joel is too funny 😂😂😂 well that was quite a roast 😂😂😂
Yeah as a Brit, a baguette has no place on a Sunday Lunch ! You definitely missed out by not adding the gravy to the meat and potatoes earlier.
My favorite part of the meal is watching you crush it!
🙏
I don't know where you put all that food, and having to drink the gravy I was like ugh....I couldn't imagine. I'm not a gravy person at all. Kudos to you!
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Joel Handsome Hansen yaaaaaaaaaaz you've done it again 💯💯💯 this was amazing to watch.. great great job.. thanks for sharing 👍🏽
How can't you like gravy 😢 it's the key supplement to a roast dinner 😭🤣 legend mate. Hat off, sir.
That roast is absolutely insane ❤My favourite thing on a sunday roast is the meat and stuffings. Adore chestnut stuffing at Christmas ❤
I want to see a cooking edition where Joel cooks and eats his own challenge!
I like that comment. I would love to see what he cooks
25:45 You can see that Yorkshire trying to escape ... Almost hear it screaming "Let's make a break for it. Run away! We're being attacked by a vicious Joel!"
You know Joel is suffering with that gravy😂😂😂
That's gotta be the biggest food challenge I've ever seen you eat. WOW absolutely amazing 🎉.
A few years ago he did a Texas bbq challenge where he had to pretty much stop when he couldn’t keep going, it was for charity and I think that’s the most I’ve seen him take down at a sitting
Thank you so much 🤗
Noone has baguettes with a Sunday roast mate
🙏
Haha 😂 in Scotland we say dearie me.. and yeah baguette is a strange side/addition!! But gravy and yorkie puds mmmmmm 😋
🙏
Thank you, Sue
That should be your signature line for every episode amigo. “i’m always gettin hungry!” 🤣🤣🤣
Joel, what the heck! That was a killer meal, especially with all that gravy. Wow! But, you did it! That was an awesome challenge. I love cauliflower, raw and steamed with just herbs. Yummers. Way too much gravy. We love ya Joel💋
🙏
and Yorkshire pudding is basically a puffed up pancake same recipe as a pancake/ creep just cooked in hot oil and hot oven
I wasn’t sure you were gonna be able to get through it all when I heard how big it was but then when you said someone else completed it I was like nah Joel’s got it 😂
Thanks, nate
The Cathedral is absolutely gorgeous 😍 💯👏🏾👏🏾
I love how your kitchen is basic like mine and not all fancy high maintenance crap. You seem very humble, very chill dude. Safe traveling bro
I love Yorkshire pudding with gravy. Actually the entire meal looked great.
Love the videos! Can you do dumplings/potstickers one day?
I’ve done videos with both before.
Another UK challenge that doesn't look good but joel makes it entertaining so I'll watch in full
It's 2023 and, apparently, they still don't know how to sear meat over there.
This place rocks
I've been to North America many times, and eaten some of the worst food I've ever had. We Brits do have bad places to eat, but you're deluded if you think you don't beat us with the awful rubbish produced in North America. Drinks that taste like vaseline, come on!
There’s no way a baguette should be on an English roast. Everything else looked awesome. Well done for chugging it down. Love your work mate! 😁
The man put the pot to his head and drank the gravy....Joel your a beast
Respect
You should have dipped the broccoli in the gravy. That's where magic happens! 😀
I'd have poured the lot over everything 😂
@@Tonystony1984 haha... yeah, same here 😀
No
@@JoelHansen No?? Yes!! Broccoli sucks up all flavours you introduce to it. It is an awesome vegetable! :)
@@AndreBendigtsen steamed broccoli covered with lemon juice and salt 🤗
Bread isn't part of a traditional Sunday dinner EVER but soak it in the gravy xx
🙏
Gravy is amazing! Defo need it poured all over that monster dinner
🙏
Lol love the ppl in the background looking at him eating the gravy 😂😂
No bread have I known to have with a Sunday roast.
You can do this Joel your the best. ❤
I would pour the gravy on the entire platter and dunk the baguettes in it as well. Amazing effort as usual!
I am english and love a roast dinner but never had a baguette wth it 😮
🙏
You gotta be one of the best professional eaters out there dang you killed that challenge awesome job
🙏
All that grazy don't make no sense that's why people loose that's just dum who wanna drink that it's not a soup challenge

How do you keep from getting obese ?
@@josephwanjiku6853he doesn’t eat that way all the time, and he works out.
You'd beat Beard meets food easily but imagine the team up if you guys joined forces would be like Omni-man and Homelander joining forces but your omni man at least of the food world only guy i seen come close to your skill level of eating is joey chestnuts
🤣
Molly can
Definitely should do this with Beardmeatsfood entertainment value xx
They've collabed before
That would cause the Great Famine of 2023!
Cauliflower cheese is lovely and we definitely don’t have baguette with a Sunday roast I wondered why he put that on there.
He was hoping it would be to much stodgy for you and it definitely wasn’t 😂
Eating a sunday roast without gravy is a hard watch 😂 gravy is a key element it brings it all together 👌
You need to fill the Yorkies with gravy.
And a little bit of the stuffing 👍🏻
im so surprised the thing you don't like most is the gravy. I dont think i have ever met someone who doesn't absolutely love gravy in the UK
🙏
Quay is pronounced key. It's a platform for docking and unloading boats.
Torquay = Tor-key.
Haha Joel had that last bit of gravy hanging out on his chin. 🤣🤣
Love to hear how much you enjoy all the items! Makes the videos really fun to watch.
Not just shoveling food grossly.
Having lived in the UK myself for 4 years, I disagree about searching out the local cuisine.
It is typically bland and boring. There are some decent curry and Kabop shops all over though.
love the 3rd Person @7:22 min in: "oh guys, see? that is not about Joel, Joel is not about that gravy life, ooOF! HA HA HA HA
As a born and bred Yorkshireman, a FRENCH baguette does not belong anywhere near a British roast dinner.
It is probably the pub taking a cheap shot at making you fail (you cant trust them southerners)
Bloody good effort though.
That’s disgraceful they expected you to finish the gravy… glad you seen it off!! 👌🏻
No bread with Sunday roast, never heard of it, ever. Yes to Yorkshire puds and gravy. Cauliflower n cheese yum yum. Way to go Joel. Love to see you team up with BeardMeatsFood in 2024.
That's insane dude, I'd die after this😂😢
lol everytime Joel mentioned the gravy “ughhhh”😂😂😂
Really, ohh my jumping jelly beans 😮, that was a lot with the gravy. It looked very tasty.
I know Torquay because my favorite comedy of all time, Fawlty Towers takes place there.
It's pronounced Torkey, like door key but with a "T" lmao 😂 Congratulations for doing it. Also, English Mustard is nowhere near the strongest, it's actually one of the weakest apart from American Mustard. Try proper French Dijon Mustard and I'm sure you will agree.
P.S. Where's the Brussel Sprouts?!?!?!?
I would have doused the puddings in the gravy! My favourite part. I grew up eating this, having Scottish parents. ❤
I laughed and like your natural way of sipping the gravy from the caseroll..! 😂
I’m soo glad you smashed it Joel , I think they were trying to stop you finishing in the time with the bread and the cauliflower cheese, and I’m defo not a fan of ghost broccoli or cheeeeeese , well done Joel 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🇬🇧🎄 hope you have a fantastic Christmas 🎄🇬🇧
The cutest part is Joel wiping his mouth & missing gravy on his beard 4 times. 🤣
You have got to have plenty of gravy with your roast, especially with Yorkshire pudding.
Ketchup and a roast is a no no 😂 but each to their own 👍
*Joel doesn’t care for gravy, cheese, and a thousand other foods & condiments. Hard to believe someone so picky is a competitive eater.*
I was amazed at how you eat your English mustard.. it's such a strong flavour and you have proper dunks of it! Well done Joel been watching all your videos the last few days I'm definitely a fan because what you manage to put away is superhuman! Not even boiled potatoes go on a Sunday roast let alone baguettes.. I think they could have given you better looking broccoli aswell .. tenderstem to jazz it up a bit. Maybe a giant Yorkshire instead of 4 lil ones too
My family usually gasps in awe of how much I consume at Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, bit Joel Hanson can literally eat the entire table and then ask for desert and eat all of that too. The GOAT
Well done joel ,
I didn't think you make it 👍👍😎
French stick with a roast dinner. Not really fair but you did amazing as usual. Love your videos ❤
Saw the sweet and sour cabbage, shout out to my Polish roots. I was surprised to see it on an English Sunday platter.
Yeah definitely need the gravy over it, takes it up a notch. As a half american / half english, you need the gravy.
it is an odd one Torquay, we say it like "tour Key". Pretty sure its still an account of treason to have a French baguette with an English Sunday lunch lol Great video mate.
Kudos on the entry. That was hilarious!!
I never heard of eating Baguette with a sunday roast!! In all my days never had a baguette with it...i reckon he threw them into the challenge as a joker!!!
