Not a fan of leather straps in general. But I do have Barton ones because of the quick release spring bars. They’re cheap enough that I can buy multiples over the course of years for what some places charge for one. No quick release spring bar means I don’t buy.
Dave, I have listened to a lot of your content but this video I watched twice! I will check out Nomad for sure. What I appreciate is your straight forward delivery and down to earth approach to watch collecting. Kind'a reminds me of Bruce Williams (Compliment!). Your quality productions are appreciated. Good luck getting to 50K suns.
Woohoo! They are my go to local watch strap store and I never knew how it compares with other stores overseas (like CNS, etc). I think they are going in the right direction by offering affordable "premium" leather straps. I've had both the genuine leather strap and those of the Horween kind (trying out buttero leather soon) and the difference is worlds apart
Nomad Watch Straps are really good, nice colors that the original watch brands doesn’t even make & good quality for a reasonable price, I heard about them when I was living in Singapore apparently it’s a local brand there but it’s famous amongst the watch collector community
Wow, these straps seem really nice, thanks for bringing this brand to our attention. Also, just wanna throw out that Vario also makes really nice straps (and watches, haha), especially for the price.
I’ve purchased from nomad a few times now, my issue with them is that the shipping cost is so high compared to the cost of the straps, one of the straps ended up being much darker than the pictures, and I’m always speculating that they must be the same Chinese straps I see on Amazon for half the price and free shipping…. But then I also don’t see the value in spending $100+ for a fancy brand leather strap…. I’m torn.
What would be helpfull is to show the side profile of each strap to see how thick and chunky they are. I accidently bought a strap a while ago which was aprox 5-6mm thick...🤣 But great vid and nice straps👍
They seem pretty decent. They are also imo reasonably priced. My issue is not postage ( reasonable ) even the import taxes but the DHL 15USD plus fee for administration of the tax which for a low value item exceeds the actual tax. Some brands seem to make it to the UK " under the radar" others not. I suppose on balance if I had brought one Nomad and like it and wanted to buy several more the DHL Tax and postage would not be an issue. But to buy one to test it out is an issue it pretty much doubles the price of the strap. I would be interested in others experiences of straps or watch stuff from Singapore. Richard
Great video. I used a link from one of your earlier videos to buy my first Nomad straps Nomad have great customer service. My vintage leather strap from them on my Seiko SNK809 is particularly good. My only wish would be for them to offer a longer strap option. I have an 8 inch wrist and Nomad's straps come up tight on me.
11:33 I am definitely gonna buy the shirt you’re wearing! Been looking for nicely designed, timepiece themed t-shirts and your collection has a few offerings I want to purchase eventually. 👍🏻
Hey Dave! Dave here! I have fallen in love with The 5ths watch and the beautiful strap you have put with it at 8:32. The stock strap just didnt really pair well with it as you mentioned in another video it was a bit too green.. I agree. The brown strap has brought it to Life. So so stunning, i have a small watch collection, I have not yet been interested in or felt the desire to spend a larger amount of money on a time piece until I came across this watch! Anywho I have been searching the web for this watch with no luck of finding another! I had emailed The 5th and pleaded my desires to own one and it doesnt seem they will be producing it again as it was a limited edition. If at any time you would be willing to sell it i would love to get in contact with you! Great videos and taste in watches by the way! Have a great day. -David
Outstanding video Dave, many thanks as this is exactly what I've been looking. These straps look terrific and the price is very reasonable. Thank you again Dave 👍
I have gold toned dresswatch and I need a strap for office, that not everyone has. I was thinking cork or tweed. What do you think which colors are possible for gold watches? Brown and Green are classic, what else?
When you buy a strap do you have a specific watch in mind for it or do you buy straps because you like the strap and figure out which watch to put it on later? If the latter is there a most versatile (most common) size to get the strap in?
hey! ive been a fan of ur channel and i think your reviews have always been so precise and concise, good job! i was just wondering about the seiko watch on 3:25 is it a srpg? and if so which type of it? because i saw ur review on the srpg before and i think on 3:25 the dials look different than the one that u did a review. An information would be very appreciated as i am actually looking to buy a budget field watch and the one u showed here really captures my attention!
Nice straps. Even though I'm just a desk diver; I can't bring myself to putting a leather strap on a dive watch. I have found a way around that but I can't include pic's here. If you're on IG, I'll find you & DM you pic's of what I did with a popular Seiko Diver to make a leather strap acceptable (to me).
These are significantly higher quality than the ones from Strapsco that I've tried. Strapsco has a really great selection and the prices are good, but these straps from Nomad are much better.
I'm not a leather strap guy. Unless its a bund. Other than a bund, I am not a fan. I dunno what it is, maybe leather says outdated and cheap. I think its because most leather these days isn't a real full grain leather. Most of those straps , if labeled "genuine" leather then its more fake than real. Additionally if it breaks in "fast" and not over a period of years its not real hide. Off putting as hell that you never flipped them over to show the inside, where it should be labeled a full grain or genuine, which is suspect to me.
At some point you start asking yourself if you still buy straps for watches or watches which fit your straps.
I freaking love the intro music, reminds me of an 80s style action show intro. So radical.
Just to clarify, Horween is a company, not a type of leather. But they use good quality leather
These guys have been my go to strap store ever since I started watch collecting. Absolutely best value for money!
Glad to see you kept the green Orient diver! Your review sold me on that watch and I wear it everyday 🤙🏻
Very nice straps. Straps really do allow you to have a whole new watch.

Thank you for the video. Exactly the information I was looking for as a new watch enthusiast.

Thanks for the tip! I joined the rewards program and ordered my first group of 4 straps. I'll check back in after I receive tat order.

Great video, I've bought some crappy straps in the past. I will definitely check these straps out.
Very good. Looks like I will have to pick up a couple of these. And that Certina is beautiful. Which one is that again?
11:33 I am definitely gonna buy the shirt you’re wearing! Been looking for nicely designed, timepiece themed t-shirts and your collection has a few offerings I want to purchase eventually. 👍🏻
Love the maroon one on your Cambridge!
The buckle is where many of these leave a lot to be desired.

Very nice straps and pricing!! Thanks for sharing these Dave😎👍

The straps are good... but it was the Certina that caught my eye 😉
Like your music selection
Great video, I am always looking for a good watch strap to fit my 20.3 cm wrist.
Awesome review, I’m definitely picking one up! Great price for quality!

Found a horween leather strap for 25 dollars on amazon and honestly could not be happier.
Horween is my jam.

man nice collection
what is that watch with the brown leather strap ?
at 8:23 🤓
That little pad in the leather pouch just shows they take things seriously

Any plans in doing the Japanese t-shirt in black?!!!
Is this still the best place to buy high quality straps?
The advertisement I got before this video was literally from Nomad Watch Works hahaha
Very helpful , thank you .
Really good price for those horweens
What is hard to find is a leather strap with a bronze buckle.
Nice straps. Even though I'm just a desk diver; I can't bring myself to putting a leather strap on a dive watch.

What’s the strap you have on the orient star explorer
Are these avaliable in a quick release spring bar system?
Very nice straps!
Ooh-can I ask what that sweet square watch at about 4:20 is?
It's a Rotary Cambridge, I just did an unboxing for it about a week ago!
@@JusttheWatch Oh, awesome-I’ll check that out!
Just wondering how Strapsco compare?
These are significantly higher quality than the ones from Strapsco that I've tried. Strapsco has a really great selection and the prices are good, but these straps from Nomad are much better.
Thank you so much
Is it necessary to treat the leather with anything or just let them age?
The Epsom ones don't need any treatment, but all the others will last longer if you apply some leather conditioner maybe once or twice a year.
Does this brand not sell anymore watch straps. It looks like it's an apple heavy website.
It's indeed an issue to find proper straps. 99% seems to be cheap crap.
These look nice. Wouldn't go any cheaper too with leather
