My older brother had a Citroen BX estate and either the clutch cable or maybe the hydraulics for the clutch (not sure what it uses) went down in Cornwall and we drove it all the way back to Essex without the use of a clutch, couldnt do that in a modern car.

Kev! Think I may have just drove past you mate. It was a trent truck anyway, didnt catch if you were driving, you were going the other near Yeovil. I was in a silver 18 tonner class 2.

Kev I got the tip to renew the gear box oil of Wheeler Dealers Ed China who add a simmerer problem and he just change gear oil and filter and fixed that problem.
I think Autoalex took one to France 🇫🇷 recently. I agree 👍 save the BX
Tip for future, if you've got a car the steering is locked at an angle you can pull it straight on by standing on the brakes as hard as possible to lock the wheels. We do it all the time when pulling smashed cars onto our trucks.
Yep great little trick, used it many times, great when the brakes work 😂

Great vid Kev! Inspiring to see an Astra Mk 5 on 216k! I had a mk5 (early 04 plate) also 1.6. Engine seized at 72k. Have a 07 plate 1.8 and investing £800 on new belts, water pump, transmission fluid, to keep it on road as long as possible.
Hi KevTee That white Audi Automatic you pick up with the gear box problem the other day is a very easy fix, renew the gear box oil and filter if there is one, If the gear box oil is old then you can get gear box problems I add a problem no drive sometimes in my Audi A4 since changing gear box oil there was no filter I have add no problems what so ever works great. I would by that white Audi if it was cheap enough but I wouldn't know what to do with a auction.

The old Citroen bx needs to be saved that is a very very rare thing and it was clean as a whistle under the bonnet and. The engine was clean as,that was looked after just needs paintwork and a few bits done and it’s a minter please please please save it

Hi Kev, I have been to Swanage in a secure office waste lorry, too darn tight for that one really, like you I hate being on a slope that is lengthways for the truck, especially if the ground is a bit soft😳 the body on my tipper goes up higher than your upper deck so a bit of squeaky bum moment while tipping or getting loaded at Torr quarry 😱 have a good week

Yep find down bunk, similar to the fm, not sure about the daf though.

I stopped across some old codgers drive to deliver his parcel, before I had even got the door open he was out giving 5h-1t about blocking his drive and needing to get out at that exact second for his appointment. Pointing out he wasn't wearing any shoes didn't seem to calm him any but you should have seen his face when I waved the parcel at him and said I'll send it back as restricted access then. Suddenly very apologetic and clearly not making that immediate appointment! lol

the only thing I can think they would do is tow rope or tow bar on the back of another car or something to get the one out of the lane behind the shops (last collection). BX would be a lovely fixer upper. but the shperes are something that MOT's would always fail for in my local garages, pretty sure it was a cash grab, as parents were paying £250 a time to have them replaced yearly even without a youngster hooligan driving it. last time I seen a BX was about 2005, as parents had their one on the drive for many years after it failed it's MOT in the hope of doing it back up, but all the seals had gone on the windows, and started to deteriate with moisture. but was last driven in 99 before getting their xantia's that had a mind of their own, luckily parents weren't seriously affected by the handbrake gremlins as always parked them in gear on hills. my uncle lost his down grandparents drive, across the footpath, across the road, across the kerb on opposite side, and footpath, and crunch into a brick wall with some speed hours before going on holiday with it.

I've not got the space or the time for another project
It shocks me wat cars with get scrapped when they don't need alot of work doing but modern cars are just to much of a problem with electrical issues to bother with thats why i stick to old cars which i can repair mechanical and welding is not a problem i keep to fords & vauxhalls can get plenty of parts wat a shame ford mondeo looked clean low mileage but auto i dont like to much to repair was good to watch

What satnav are you using these days my tomtom trucker is up for replacement i was thinkin of a Garmin .
I would go with the garmin, I'm using Tom Tom as its company provided but not a day passed when I don't want to punch the thing 😂

Shame about that BX, who’s the best person to ring from the website about it? Tried asking on the email chat thing about buying it but I think they think I’m after parts not the whole thing?
It would of been broken the day after the video went live, they don't hang around, best to call the parts team for any parts enquiries 👍

What's the small grey box with the flashing blue LED ?
The small box is my kettle and the flashing leds are switches for the airbars 👍
Its not the switches that I mean, just on your left hand side, about centre of the dash but about 12" down looks a little pear shape, with a blue LED that flashes every so often ? @@KevTee
@@stevewright2271 The silver pearl shaped object is the lid of my kettle, the switches are just above the kettle and the light from the switches is reflecting off the lid, the switches only illuminat when rolling very slow or stopped to show when they are available, the switches also flash when the airbar is deployed 👍
Is the lorry automatic the driver never change gear ?
Yes it's automatic as most trucks on the road in the UK are 👍
