- Lars Frederiksen of Rancid gives recently released WWE wrestler Ruby Riott permission to use the Ruby Soho name live on the Wrestling Perspective Podcast, June 18, 2021. Ruby Soho debuted in AEW at All Out on September 5, 2021.
Life changing moment for Ruby, and I'm so glad it happened for her. She will be Ruby Soho for the rest of her career... 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I already liked both her and the band but yeah this was right in the feels lol
So this video just popped up randomly into my feed and even though I haven’t been following the current wrestling product nor am I a closer follower of the band Rancid but I felt I had to check it out.
Consider this: in order for her to have been Ruby Soho in WWE that would have required some sort of corporate deal between the lawyers at Titan Towers and the lawyers of whatever Label The song was published under. Something very cold and unfeeling and all about dollars and cents.
INSTEAD what we have is a person who seems like very positive and polite person facing a huge setback in her career path losing the name she had been performing under and feeling set adrift suddenly being given the name she always wanted but never dared to use it on her own, and being given access to the prestige that name conveyed in order to blaze a new path to success.

@@willowwonderbull7100 It’s all good, I just meant that he gave her a very marketable identity that she didn’t really have beforehand. The song has a lot of nostalgia for punk rock fans and even if you’re not a Rancid fan it’s super catchy and will definitely make her more recognizable.

This is honestly one of the most wholesome things I've seen in wrestling, Ruby's reaction was so pure... it's such a great story and I'm so happy this moment was actually recorded. I hope Ruby's path in AEW is a successful one, she sure deserves it. She didn't win the AEW Women's World Title from Britt Baker but that's understandable, Britt's title reign is still "fresh" and she has to at least have the big PPV rematch with Thunder Rosa before she can drop the title. On the other end I wouldn't be too shocked to se Ruby be the first to win the new TBS Title.
I’ve seen Lars give the shirt off his back , always humble always generous. Maybe the realest person ive met.

I met Lars at black n blue bowl in NYC a few years back and he’s a good guy no doubt about it. We spoke for awhile and nothing but respect for him.
Ironically I only found out about Rancid because of Ruby Soho and Lars just seems like the coolest dude out there, I also got a chuckle about the "Is that too Dynamic Dudes?" when talking about the Ruby Radical name.
I just listened to her on Jericho’s podcast and she talked about this moment. Seeing her face is amazing

This is such a joyous video. With the music business/ anything with copyright things like this NEVER happen. So it’s just a wonderful thing that Lars being a wrestling fan and an awesome guy made this happen. It’s for the greatest good, it’s awesome and it fucking rocks.
Rancid is my fav band of all time, they are not raging communists, they love America and make awesome music, which is rare in today's culture. So glad Ruby got to use the name and the song. And out come the wolves is classic, from beginning to end. Great album, great band and a great wrestler!!!!

Like there seems to be two Rubys right now: we have default Nice Ruby who has the sweetest smile in the business, doesn’t hide her emotions and famously hugged the referee (pretty much the kind of person she is irl) but if you poke her enough like Britt and Bunny did you suddenly get Edgy Ruby who burns people on the mic and twitter and has an acid tongue. 😂
I like both of them it’s just crazy to me sometimes that they’re the same person, like a teddy bear who can turn into a grizzly. Just wondering whether she actually did put a little bit of that Jekyll and Hyde idea into the character.
