M2k and mango's rivalry got me into melee even tho I've been playing it since release. Around 07 or so is when I started L canceling and m2k has been a favorite since. Insane legacy. Long live the king.

Yo, could you talk about why your mentality was so impressive? You took losses so well even though you would almost always be the favorite to win. even now with speed running, which many would consider absolutely mentally exhausting you still are putting in the work and improving every day. Id love a little rant video on that subject.

I think M2Ks inconsistency just shows how impressive he truly was.
Soo many players came close to godhood but fell short largely due to inconsistency. Yet M2K still made his place there despite his own confidence effecting his consistency.
M2K is probably the best smash coach of all time.
Yeah the argument could already be made after Leo’s dominance in Ultimate but to me the rise of Spargo after he was also coached by M2K is really proof that M2K is definitely the best Smash coach of all time. Something I’ve always thought about M2K when he played melee is that he may not beat everyone but he knows HOW to beat everyone
Being real here, when you have ADHD (as i do) you feel the same emotions that everyone feels to a higher degree. It almost feels like something small to most "normal" people is something big to ADHD people. And we tend to nitpick things a lot, as you see M2K always choosing to be as optimal as possible because we need to feel like we need to be as accurate as possible, that is because of the OCD part which is usually combined with ADHD alonside aspergers. The most relevant conditions that really influence people like M2K are OCD and ADHD. It quite literally rewrites how we view the world. Because of this we tend to feel really alone because we view things a very specific way that we deem important but hardly many people view the world the same as we do. The smallest defeats tends to be our biggest defeats. And yes we absolutely beat ourselves up HARD. Because we're super self aware of our bad habits and problems but feel like we are unable to fix them because our mind is constantly attacking itself with contradictory and heavily mind-intrusive/inflictive thoughts. It's almost like an influx of thoughts and emotions coming at you at once. hence why organization is such a difficult task because we're constantly being bombarded by our thoughts, and its also why its imparative to really work on our mind through heavy self-awareness and proper habit building tricks, but a psychiatrist is always an important thing. And yes noise cancelling headphones are important because due to our adhd, any and i mean ANY noise, light, etc causes a disruption in our train of thought. But its not something you cant get used to though, you can definitely adapt, its just that much harder because of how our minds work.

Get a rival that gets as proud when you beat him as armada with m2k. Such a wholesome relationship

Lol, my favorite M2k moment was one PPMD brought up of M2k overpowering Leffen and drawing a moustache.
He is the type of person who just gives 110% on everything. Someone told him at Smash Summit to just forget about everything and only focus on the game, and he literally forgot he was in grand finals when he won lol
I didn't know M2K actually has diagnoses for the mentioned mental conditions, makes it easier to put his personality and playstyle into words and it is something I would even like to get myself tested for in order to understand the complex mind a little more
I can just watch or even just listen to Armada talk about mindset, life stories, or just advice. I always loved Armada's mindset.

Man i loved this video, your insights about competition are TOP TIER, i will always remember that the B game is more important than the A game, that just makes everything so much easier, because then you don't have to be scared about "oh am i gonna be at my 150% today?" even if it's not your best day you can still go and compete, and if you're at your A game then you're going to destroy. I mean yeah, it's really up to the interpretation of the person to decide what 'The Robot' means, but that doesn't make it wrong or right, it moreso gives the concept more meaning technically and I think that's what's great about nicknames.
For me it meant precise and knowledgeable, and M2K still has those qualities tbh

Hbox and mango still are competing and winning
Armada and M2K retired voluntarily, PPMD was forced to retire due to health issues, Hbox and Mang0 have both won majors in the last couple of months and remain among the best in the world

Interesting. Armada is right talking about people saying whatever they want, and that is what it feels like when i am around someone with autism. But really it is other people on internet that are jerks.
Someone I knew a person many years ago who was autistic on the spectrum and he was one of the most emotional people there was. Everyone has feelings and they express them differently than what most are used to. Even mew2king
