I remember lightning striking the plane with a big flash coming out of Vancouver on its way to London. Coming little more than a year after Lockerbie, there was that uh-oh split second before thinking: well I'm not quite sure what that was,but I'm sure it's OK. The old Kai Tak airport in Hong Kong was always an interesting take-off and landing, because of the scene not the weather conditions - though I doubt anyone was taking to the skies if a Typhoon warning was up.

Flew into Heathrow on the morning Storm Diana struck on a BA Jumbo in 2018. It was an interesting 20 minutes until we touched down. I was super impressed with both the cockpit crew and the plane itself. Started watching planes land in storms shortly after.
There are lots of guys steaming from airports today and they all do a good job. But Jerry and Gilly are the OG's of airport streamers and Jerry's commentary is the best.

As a pilot myself, I can assure you we do not fight an aircraft during a x-wind landing. It looks far more exciting than it actually is. That’s not to say they aren’t challenging, but we train for this regularly.
These winds are crazy but the scariest flights of my life were flying in and out of Warsaw in -20c in huge snowfall. To fly out they just doused the plane all over in de-icer for about an hour right up to take off then we were off in a white out. Bloody terrifying.
Cool, dedicated man. Just literally seen this one clip and I'm like. Wow he's doin this not for him self but to show what pilots do. Showing respect to the humble pilot who people take for granted. To me he's up there beyond the levels of Premier league footballers even national. He did a real job.
I was watching the entire thing from start to finish on TH-cam. Quite amazing how those pilots control those planes in very windy conditions like we had yesterday. No idea what the passengers thought onboard as they came into land. I'd expect a few cheers and rounds of applause. Big up to Jerry and his team for bringing us the footage live and has it happens.
