The speed at which Ram Dass is speaking cuts me to the core. Not only his brilliant words but the space in which they're spoken breaks me down. Hard to explain but I write this post with tears in my eyes
@@kimujin6 I thought it's just with me... earlier I was talking about Neem Karoli Baba to a person from Kainchi asking him how can I connect with him like how should I initiate my meditative process and so on. I was anxious and depressed but never thought I'd cry as I've never been that way but within that conversation midway I started sobbing which has never happened ever. The person asked me not to stop and let it all out. Its a way Maharajji or the higher consciousness you can call wants to let go off the negativity or the trapped bad energy out. Somehow our higher self was pulled to this content, souls and their energies.
I hear just what you mean, except for the tears. I'm sure Ram Dass would smile knowing that someone is getting what he's saying, along with the spaces, no matter how short or long. I don't think he would want anyone to look first at his humanness when he's speaking of his beingness. He was one of our greatest human beings. I thank the Universe for him, and will for the rest of my days. As for Eckhart as well, I learn so very much from them. Blessings to everyone. XO
This is one of the most powerful videos. These two giants in consciousness and being engaging with each other. How blessed we are to be able to witness and replay this over and over.

I'm crying. My ego initially felt pity for Ram Dass as old age finally caught up to him and affected his speech, but I know that he knows that this is just part of the human experience. He may be even looking at this with some humour. This made me cry so much because this talk was so beautiful and it's always wonderful to listen to Ram Dass. Thank you Ram Dass and Eckhart Tolle ❤
Thank you for your comment. I don’t want to be critical of you, but I want to point out an important difference. Ram Dass had a stroke. A stroke isn’t the same as old age. Younger people get strokes too. I agree that it’s always wonderful to listen to Ram Dass.
RIP Ram Dass He, among many other spiritual teachers (including Eckhart Tolle) had an impact on my journey back to self. Thank you for your life, your work, and for your inspiration to the world ❤️ 🙏 🌎 “We're all just walking each other home.” -Ram Dass
but the body is part of us or we at least work with the body is you want to look at it that way. Could apply to a body of knowledge too; that is chosen by the sprit or soul to be lived out through physical body. I think we are the whole things all levels / systems or whatever working together that we personally are at have access to though what we have experienced / learned. The soul is like drawing from the source which is another body the body of truth or knowledge that is correct and then its being manifested in physical body or form. So in conclusion the physical is what could use for improvement but simultaneously the more improved it more you understand spiritually. And the body is letterally liike sounds and voice and body language too.
@@spookytwink420 Body is an experience of ‘us’. We are one universal consciousness that is scooped out into individual bodies and minds, like spoonfuls out of an ocean, to experience itself (the universe); And then with death, it dissolves back into the ocean. That’s how Eckhart visualised it in a podcast. It’s a liberating realisation for ‘me’.
Ego is a social institution with no physical reality. The ego is simply your symbol of yourself. Just as the word “water” is a noise that symbolizes a certain liquid without being it, so too the idea of ego symbolizes the role you play, who you are, but it is not the same as your living organism. The biggest ego trip is getting rid of your ego, and of course the joke of it all is that your ego does not exist.
Currently going through intense anxiety and depression. Eckhart's videos and teachings are a lifeline. I'm so thankful for this man. I wish peace for anyone reading this :)

Same here. I am what I am today partly because of 25 years of being a Mormon and I’m grateful for all I learned. Now I’m even more grateful for have left the church. Much love to all
I love how Eckhart looks at Baba Ram to answer first out of respect when the question about being a guru to others was asked. It was just so beautiful. It just got to me.
The ego is always present, even in the identity of proclaiming you can see the ego, the ego is the driving force of all versions of "reality", mindfulness is just another crutch that the ego uses for what it needs.

I listened to Ram Dass last night for the first time. I watched a 2 hour video from start to finish and found myself for the first time ever, saying "yes" out aloud several times while he spoke. This actually surprised me :) I am happy I found him
Having listened to Ram Dass describing the blessings within his stroke I felt I must share my own current journey of living even more from Consciousness. My husband was diagnosed with Young Onset Alzheimer's Disease in 2010 and on this journey I have had some of the most incredible moments of inner oneness during times when husband was expressing the typical angry and aggressive behavior. So lovely Ekhart listening in silence as Ram Dass searches for words, still so articulate in this new way. And the same is true as Ram Dass waits for himself. Kindness is its own lesson.

Ok Ram Dass and Echart visited me in my dream after watching this video. Lots of smiles and laughter and Love. I got an inter dimensional talk from both of them. Mainly Ram Dass talking about my mom. We both saw Ram Dass on “Be Here Now.” It was a beautiful experience.
Seriously I wish I could give Ram my healthy, young brain, so he could live for another 100 years. He could make such great use of it. he seems as though he's having a hard time explaining exactly what it is he's thinking. Either way, I love this man to death. Because he can feel it. He knows. He knows exactly what it is he wants to say. Sorry if I seem like I'm rambling. It's such a beautiful video regardless of what I say.
Actually he is not suffering from dementia. He had a severe stroke which affected his whole left side as well as his speech. He has been undergoing therapy for years to help the physical issues and speech but, says some words allude him. There is a great documentary about his life called "Ram Dass - Fierce Grace" I highly recommend. Very touching.
❤️🙏🏻 OMG I love that Ram Dass speaks slower than before the stroke. It keeps me in full listening mode. Before his stroke I would get so blown away by each word it was overwhelming. Now I can process more of it.
If Ram Das continued to preach unconditional love after facing such challenge and adversity, perhaps he and the universe are showing us unconditional love is the highest truth of all things.
They're both phenomenal human beings That's one of the things I like most about listening to Eckhart talk is that he speaks slowly with enough space in between his words to keep your attention on the present
I just realized that listening to Ram Dass is an exercise in itself now. I can feel myself leading his speech with implied meanings. I can feel my disappointment when he finally says something in a different way than I expected. And I can feel the peace when I let go of definitions and allow him to speak without anticipation. He became my practice, instead of my teacher.
Love Eckhart and enjoyed how Ram Dass demonstrated the importance of "reading in between the lines" by using your heart (feeling) the intention of what he was saying rather than having the impatience to want the words. Some people have commented on how frustrating it is listening to him, I could only imagine the level of spirituality he has adopted from being in a body that has its limitations in expression and dealing with it, but he has showed us how he has accepted and surrendered to this state of being with grace. Blessings and kudos to Ram Dass and Eckhart.

watching with the opposite of pure joy, appreciation, etc ... that is still on the same plane but at the opposite pole, which means there hasn't been any apprehension at all. Pure observation, with none of these attributes that you're referring to, is the saving grace. The moment insight walks in following pure observation, there's only SILENCE of the MIND. When the arrow hits the target / home ... there's only [mental] SILENCE. Any agreement or disagreement, yes or no, still exists on that abject mental place which wallows forever in dualism/polarity. And where the dual plane is, God Absolute is not.
I feel like everyone already knows all of this. Some are just not aware of it, so don't practice it. This just brings those things into situations and anecdotes. I feel like the whole spiritual gig is about reminding and snapping you out of your delusions momentarily. Make you aware of it. Pretty sure that's what awareness is all about. Simply recognizing those things when they happen so you can snap in or out of it. There's something universal with truths that people just can't deny. If not, it's probably full of shit hahahah Sometimes, it's just the way people say it though that confuses other people. That's why people like great speakers so much. They just find the right way of speaking the truths. Nobody should practice what they don't believe. That's what's beautiful with Buddhism. A lot of it is really just using your common sense. Just don't call the other stuff you believe or don't Buddhist teachings... I feel like the only people who aren't ready for these lessons are only people who aren't willing to really listen and reflect on it. Or people who think everything the teachers say is going to be a reflection of pure truth, all the time. Which, nobody can do that... If they say so you should be worried of them really. That's just asking too much of anybody. Everyone is full of shit sometimes. And that's ok. Although, I don't know why they'd come here if they don't want to listen to it ahahahah If we'd all be really woke, I don't think we'd be here to start with though. You'd most likely be wherever Ram Dass is right now. But, who knows. I hope he's where he wanted to be. But damn, some part of me kinda hope he's coming back with us hahahaha
Doesn’t take any bit of patience to wait for the next thought of this wonderful man. Could be hours and would only gain focus and appreciation. Thank you Sir.
Ram Dass makes sense when he says we float in an ocean of love, and being conscious of that, makes you love everything. Eckhart Toole speaks of oneness with the other, finding each other, as souls, with our presence. Recognizing yourself in the other, in this formless way, is love. Think how we all could achieve peace, by living in that spacious consciousness provided by true love. Living in grace is surrendering to allow it to emerge anytime, anywhere. Unconditioned presence to every moment.
This is possibly one of the most touching and amazing videos on sprituality I have ever seen. The bliss, humbleness, and spirituality that are present in these 2 sages and the whole atmosphere, made me cry and I felt a big shift in my inner being. I slept dreaming about the video. What a memorable picture. Amazing. Period❤
I am so glad to see this discussion with Ram Dass! So many of today's Thought Leaders are expanding on the teachings of those who came before them. I worked with Ram Dass' team and DJ Kriece on a very cool Spoken Word album in 2008, which was after his stroke. Many people "count you out" when you have a stroke, especially the media, which is so unfair. Ram Dass has worked very hard on his recovery and still has so much to share. Please, be still, be kind and just open up to listening.

16:00 I was dying laughing. “The ego is rooted in...umm....negative ...stuff.” I love these two teachers, it’s beautiful to see him just be human and old and struggle. Enlightenment isn’t an idealism. It’s rooted in the core of what it means to be human. And Ram Dass fumbling his words and sounding sort of idiotic is beautiful in itself. I love these two teachers. Definitely two of the greatest teachers of my lifetime.
Yeah I found it to be richly rewarding in comedic highlights. But anybody purporting to be earnestly receiving actual meaningful information or wisdom from this medium....is practicing deception (or self-deception). People crack me up pretending like those kinds of truths can be distilled from Ram's soul to their souls via his words here. I'll skip the word salad on the menu here. I'm happy to eat my mushrooms and venture into the wilderness with my friends....who all of the sudden strike me as extremely articulate individuals.
Because Ram Dass knew old age and his humanness would take a toll on his physical body someday, but as he said in his younger days, don't pity him as he knows where he is going and he knows who he is. I'm sure his higher self is smiling and chuckling at himself knowing Ram Dass' humour ❤
Even after his body is constraint by his stroke, you can still feel his essence. That essence is in everyone. Some will understand that. "Soul doesn't judge" -- Ram Dass
I have been following the teachings and hanging out with Ram Dass in the same spiritual space for some 20 years. I haven't learned about his passing for more than a year. What a shame, to find out so late. But searching my heart, nothing changed. You can still meet him in the same space now. In shedding the goods, bads, fears, lives, wants and human companions there is hardly any loss.
Listening with the ego makes it hard to hear ram dasses message in this one. But as soon as its dropped i hear the insightfulness hes trying to describe with his words. Less is more sometimes
Listening to Eckhart is teaching me how to love. How to see a person as another being made of the same things the rest of the universe is made of, and see that their own ego is not who they are. Just as mine isn't who I am, and I can start to love myself too. Really enjoyed listening to Ram Dass as well. I'm not very familiar with him but glad to be introduced to him.
This is the most beautiful pure holy fellowship of all time. I am in awe. My spirit rejoices. Words are poor to describe this moment. How I pray that may we have such souls in all generations to keep the light burning. Thank you universe

BE HERE NOW was my first door also, even though I freaked out while reading it in my 20s. Just fear. Years later I came back finished book, etc. was privileged to go to a few presentations by Ram in person. Woweeee.
Ram Dass helped me begin the path 45-years ago. The only out-in-the-open teacher I've personally met -- seminar at Double Tree Inn, Monterey, Californis circa 1976. I was telling someone how I got there when I was clapped on the shoulder from behind ---turned around to a big smiling Ram Dass, "Just like the universe reached out and grabbed you! He's popped in and out of my instruction ever since. I AM, Identity, IS the way -- the narrow gate.
I feel for Ram... I had 3 strokes in 1 year... I too, had the same problem with speech at first and still do from time to time. You know the words, you see it in your head, it doesn't come out nor is there a way to explane or describe it. For me, the first time...it was "red truck". I seen it in my mind, but no words for "red" or "truck". No alternative words like "crimson vehicle"... it was very frustrating... makes you realize how special just to talk is.
My dad had a stroke nearly 3 months ago now and he says this, the words just go. Asking for 'salt' he'll say that white stuff you put on things, it must feel very frustrating at times as I know even when I get tired or I'm rushing around to much I call the fridge the washing machine or the sky the ceiling and I have to just slow down and think nut whatever why the stroke can effect your mind, it must just make the connections to words drop away sometimes. I hope things have improved for you and you are healing well 💕
@@ainecat9711 the problem is there really isn't any real program (at least around here, or that I was told about) to help with the problems. It has taken me a long time to het 90% of my words back... If it helps...I started by just playing solitare. Something I could do alone and knew how to do... Every card I saw, I would repeate what it was....at the start, even looking at them, I would call it a red spade. It got better, but it was relearning to say the right words... I hope he has as much recovery as I found. I once thought of making a channel on here talking about a self recovery of stroke victims and how people overcame... bet you could have a lot who would look into it....but I am not a web personality...lol
“Grace is hiding in the seemingly bad things that happen in your life, through acceptance or rather deep acceptance, grace can be fully awakened through the great yes to the present moment”
Videos like this are such a gift. Eckhart Never ceases to draw me back to my true identity one way or another. I found so much of what Ram Dass said here also carried a ‘wow’ factor - I am loving awareness, for example. I have heard that before but when it is spoken by one who embodies the truth so completely it just cuts through all the noise and distraction. Two heroes - thank you.
Take notice of the continued awakening. Was there not a time you too were distracted by minor issues which was the ego masking ingratitude to keep you from grasping the depth of what iz being revealed? Look at how far you have come that such things no longer distract you as much and be glad in that. Be happy for these ones too while you point out how they are missing the point as you have here cuz they do need that reflection to become aware of it. I see them on a lot of videos more than ever before in the last few months. That must be an indication that the global awakening has accelerated which means we are accelerating as well.
I am really surprised by all the negative comments here. It seemed to be a lovely talk overall, and beautiful to see such people together on stage. I remember when I first read "Be Here Now", years ago, and what a profound, simple truth that book contained. Then years later, the even more potent and profound book, "The Power of Now". I am so happy to be able to see these two souls talking and sharing together on this video.
I think the people who are writing the negative stuff haven't really gotten it yet. ACIM teaches to immediately forgive "them" and forgive ourselves because we are them in a way. We have all done negative stuff and we have all been unconscious at some time in our lives. It's important to have compassion and forgive, I believe.
It is a good talk. One of the many things I enjoy about computers. You can find subjects of interest w/ ease. If I wanna listen to music, guided meditation, rain on a tin roof or a talk w/ substance and films, whatever, it's all at your finger tips.
The people who are writing negative comments will come around - either this time around or a future incarnation. Not to worry. Listen with your heart, be "Loving Awareness," and you will appreciate this remarkable and unique conversation.
I'm finding Ram Dass speaking very difficult to listen to most of the time but for me he is an extraordinary presence in the world and has given us so much to ponder and be aware of. Hie book "The Only Dance There Is" is one of my favorites and "Be Here Now" really helped open my mind.. In listening to Eckert, (having read "The Power of Now", "Stillness Speaks" and "A New Earth"), I've felt new spurts of "spiritual insight", I find when I am able to listen with my mind's heart (as I observe my mind), that is much more likely to happen. I find Eckert totally fascinating and his humor at times (from other talks) is delightful to me.

Somehow our higher self was pulled to this content, souls and their energies.
thank you
I hear just what you mean, except for the tears. XO
You know when someone is speaking with real presence, space and calmness, when in comparison even Eckhart sounds too fast 😄

Made so much sense when Ram Dass said ‘The ego is part of the body and not part of us’. So true 🙏👏
but the body is part of us or we at least work with the body is you want to look at it that way.
@@AkshaySharma-ut6rv beautifully explained thanks 👍
I know right? Or when he said: "The ego is rooted in..................negative.......negatives?.........uuu-uh..............stuff".

Some people have commented on how frustrating it is listening to him, I could only imagine the level of spirituality he has adopted from being in a body that has its limitations in expression and dealing with it, but he has showed us how he has accepted and surrendered to this state of being with grace. When you are ready for this message you will watch with pure joy and appreciation with no complaints, until then you aren't ready
watching with the opposite of pure joy, appreciation, etc ... that is still on the same plane but at the opposite pole, which means there hasn't been any apprehension at all.
Dee, right on man, right on point! 😁
@Jeff B Don't worry man...it's all a joke. The whole 'spiritual' thing.

I have spent time with Ram Dass, anyone who knows anything about him knows he had a stroke. He wrote a book about it. It is called Fierce Grace. Before making negative comments out of ignorance and ego you should take the time to think before saying negative comments about another persons condition...Namaste

Betsy Stevens I can’t imagine anyone speaking negatively of anyone that way. He is just a beautiful, kind and loving light....as is my dear Eckhart 💗
Hey!!! youre here now... lol i didnt even mean to Pun! Much Love Distant Traveller!!! Maybe one day ill be able to go to Hawaii and see him too before he passes. How did he look BTW? I hope he has many more Years
Oh and i see you are a Trevor fan!!!! I Love him so much, and Nahko Bear MFTP, and Mike Love, And Satsang Movement, Cool I love finding out that there are Awake peoples All over. Im in Denver with my Beautiful Wife and two daughters. I hope you have a beautiful life and are as thankful and grateful as i am for the many blessings. Namaste, and give Ram Dass my love... how much sweeter he has made life.
The stroke guy is full of shit.
Beautiful. Was like meditation to watch and listen. Thank you.
They talk about love and it makes me love them
I feel for Ram...
You must be a tough nut to crack. Thanks for sharing. :)
These two beautiful souls have completely changed my life. So grateful for them 🙏🏼
The ear of your heart listens to the silence. Beautiful and helpful.
This beautiful man has awakened me. Thank you Mr. Tolle.
i had no clue of ekhart 12 months ago and my life is now mine again
Howe about now? Still 'awake'?
foofoo blenda eckhart would say: no you are aware of THE life now
Great upload - thanks. It's so rare to see deliberate pauses in things like this - normally people are terrified of empty spaces.
I love the bit where Ram Dass’ soul connects straight to the microphone and he talks without talking
Wut
That was an excellent discussion. Thank you for interviewing these two beautiful, conscious human beings.
read autobiography of yogi by paramahansa yogananda published by self-realization fellowship
the interview that brought me to Ram Dass ❤️❤️ thank you Eckhart , I love you both !!
Apparently they couldn't get a professional sound technician for this gig. Aside from that, what an epic pairing of two great minds.
Were lucky to be alive while Eckhart and ram Das are alive.
You are seeking the future in that post ^ ^ xD

Take notice of the continued awakening. Was there not a time you too were distracted by minor issues which was the ego masking ingratitude to keep you from grasping the depth of what iz being revealed? Look at how far you have come that such things no longer distract you as much and be glad in that. Be happy for these ones too while you point out how they are missing the point as you have here cuz they do need that reflection to become aware of it. I see them on a lot of videos more than ever before in the last few months. That must be an indication that the global awakening has accelerated which means we are accelerating as well.
We are so blessed to have had you both with us, guiding humanity back home.
Yep, loved Be Here Now! Agree, it's time to stop judging ourselves and others and just learn to Be, love to ALL :)

I love that final comment by Ram Dass "I am Loving Awareness"... beautiful
I love watching them make each other smile! 🥰
i owe my happiness and current well-being to these gentlemen.
Hmm... some of the difficulty in listening to Ram Dass is because his speech has been affected from a stroke he had some years back.
look beyond hs flesh to the now soul, did not you hear her tell us that hed been stroked by god! the man has had a stroke.....
Psalms 111:10" "The fear of The LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His commandments: His praise endureth for ever."
Do not let yourselves be led astray as I once was by the words of Ram Dass and other new-age teachers. They only seek to lead you away from Jesus Christ. There is no other way to God, to salvation, except through Jesus Christ.
Romans 10:9-13: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Praise God, the gospel of Jesus Christ is GOOD NEWS indeed. Hallelujah.
@@palau23321i feel sad for you ! believe christ not the chruch.
Fierce Grace? My 87 yo Dad layed in the hospital bed, he said I'm afraid I'm going to have a stroke. Dad, you've already had it. Oh, thank goodness for that he said. Thank you Ram Dass & Eckhart I now know he received Grace 🙏💜
Eckhart is incredible. Love his humour. So much love and gratitude Ram Dass.
Beyond imaginable!!!! It takes you straight to their hearts - I was floating on my feet after the video - a complete blessing 🙏
We at the channel thank you for watching!
It's just so hard to watch if you've listened to any of ram dass's old talks where his flare and fluency spill into your soul, fair play to him for still doing it, an amazing man
I'm glad this is the first time I've heard him. I'm loving his calm vibe, I sense no deficiency. :)
So much wisdom and love. Many thanks for organising this meeting and for those two very loving teachers.
When you strip away and discard all beliefs, concepts, ideas, thoughts, abstractions, notions...all that is left is Love. That is who you are. :) "To find out who you are, you must first find out who you are not. When you have discarded everything that is not you...what is left is who you are."

"this is a whole lot of now". That's actually quite funny.
Yes it's funny AND joyoys. We can never have too much "now"!
Joyous.
I thought so too. 🤭
xD there are no words right now for how amused I feel about this comment
YES!!! I agree namaste!
this made me cry. Listening to ram dass with my heart. Paying attention to every word, without judgement. It just moved me.
I'm so lucky. After many years I finally see. And I'm also lucky that in 1974 in the forests of Santa Cruz, I had a wonderful guide to do psilocybin with. It was the most amazing experience of my life. It took a long time for me to abandon the ego, and to see what I did see that night in Santa Cruz.
