Splash Mountain was Imagineering at its peak. It feels like a ride Walt Disney and his original imagineers created, definitely on the level of Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion. Losing Zip a Dee Do Dah in the parks is also a major loss
Absolutely. Someone said it best when they called it "the most Disney ride at a Disney Park". It checked every box for what a theme park ride should be. Naturally, awful modern-day DEIsney would remove it.
Words cannot describe how much I'm going to miss this masterpiece of Imagineering. Everything about it from the music, to the colourful characters, to the warm and wholesome atmosphere is just perfect. My ultimate comfort ride. I will never forgive Disney for taking this away. I'd be so much happier if they re-themed one and left the other alone, like Tower of Terror/Mission Breakout. Smh... Shameful. I was never a fan of Princess movies. Always preferred Disney's animal movies.
By evolving, we lose our history sometimes. I for one, love to see the sights and sounds I had as a child for it will momentarily take me back to a simpler time. It’s a shame when they discard like this.

As someone who went on this ride the last time right before it closed I can confirm that this ride was better than the new Tiana ride and I went on that ride yesterday ( coming from someone who’s fav movie is the Princess and the frog )
I agree. Disney would have done great if they opened a brand new Tiana water ride that was done very detailed. They could have kept this ride. I say don’t cancel history and pretend it doesn’t exist especially when the Brer folklore, while tied to a controversial film, is NOT an issue.
It’s so hard to see this ride go. The feelings of anxiety and excitement, fear and fun, as a kid this was the best ride. We’ll truly never forget splash mountain and all the beautiful memories it’s created for us. Thank you splash mountain 🥺😭
This was an unnecessary transformation. Sure this idea was based on a controversial film, but non of the controversial moments from that film are represented in this ride.
I can’t help but laugh at the fact that a ride like this got affiliated with “racism”. This ride is harmless af. No true Disney fan wanted this changed.
I love that you captured this for the records. In such clear quality too. I have never been able to make out everything so clearly when I rode. The sounds are always so loud and overlap each other. So I miss certain characters dialog. While I will miss this fun ride. I am excited to see the Princess and the Frog remake of this.
Just watched this after Tiana pov. The 'dead space' works in the original because it's building up tension, and the story, music and characters slowly unfold. Plus it gets slightly creepy with the music getting faster and more chaotic to the buildup of the big drop. Whoever designed Tiana just missed all that. They didn't even include the villain which would have added so much tension before the drop. It looks so disappointing.

The world is crap today specifically because you people accept the word of bad actors, trying to create a racial revolution.

I can't believe how much better and how much more fun this looks compared to the new Tiana garbage. Disney truly has lost it's magic and it's marbles.
I'll be singing "How Do You Do?", "Everybody's Got a Laughing Place" & "Zippity Doo Dah" when I ride the new ride.
lol I would do the same
Splash Mountain was Imagineering at its peak. It feels like a ride Walt Disney and his original imagineers created, definitely on the level of Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion.
Losing Zip a Dee Do Dah in the parks is also a major loss
Agreed.
Absolutely. Someone said it best when they called it "the most Disney ride at a Disney Park". It checked every box for what a theme park ride should be. Naturally, awful modern-day DEIsney would remove it.
I honestly can't believe they are going to change this ride. I've always loved going to see / ride this. It will never be the same.

I never rode on the ride of splash mountain never have never will and never did
Or don't even remove splash at all just make a new ride all together
@@Thedoorway123 Agreed. That's what they should have done all along. Tiana deserves her own attraction, not table scraps.
Violet: Sure...slap our names on an old ride.
By evolving, we lose our history sometimes. I for one, love to see the sights and sounds I had as a child for it will momentarily take me back to a simpler time. It’s a shame when they discard like this.
I don’t understand why they can’t make a new movie with all the animated characters and refurbish the ride of the new movie. It would change the reputation and even add to/fix some parts of the ride.
The problem is what it’s based on, not necessarily the film itself
The characters still have a legacy attached to them
Never rode on this ride a splash mountain I never have I never will I don't think I'm going to
it’s cause the ride is based off of black people being mean to white people and that’s very offensive

Good bye splash mountain you have a special place in my heart
Splash mountain is timeless, it is a work of art that uplifts your spirit after you ride it.
If they can change this to Tianna, then surely they can change it back

Iger loves IP. Everything IP. Splash Mountain can't be remade into profitable IP because of Song of the South so it was replaced by IP. Maelstrom is Frozen. Tower of Terror is Guardians of the Galaxy.

Anyone come back here after witnessing the disappointment of the The Princess and the Frog ride that replaced this one??

Just seen it, looks terrible, such a downgrade from a classic

That was a beautiful view of the castle from the top of the main drop!

Anyone here after seeing the Tiana bayou pov? 😭😭
Me. I’m devastated. 😭

@@RyanM95 yup. same boat. I had no issue with the retheme, I understood why they'd want to do it, but I really thought they wouldn't botch it that hard. Why make the ride take place after the movie? There are no stakes left by the end of the movie, so the ride is just Tiana's Na'vi River Journey - it's crazy how badly they dropped the ball on this
i didn’t even get the chance to get on the ride
Most definitely lol ..
Disney is changing so many things that left so many memories for my children and grandchildren, and some of their friends that I don't know if I want to go back
Nothing was ever supposed to be set in stone. Walt himself said that the parks are never finished and that they are always going to be expanding and bringing in new stuff.
I had the honor of riding it for the first ever time this month. I loved it!!! It was our families first ever time at Disney and I had no clue they were closing this ride down til a few days after we had rode it. It was so much fun. It will be missed dearly.
the good old days of going to disney are long gone.
Here after watching the POV of the lifeless, lackluster replacement
It's soooo bad
it's not that bad let's be real
Womp womp
Had to get the sight of that new ride out of my mind.
Disney managed to mess up a 50 ft drop and make it soulless which honestly is an accomplishment within itself.
Thanks for posting this. Unfortunatelly my family didn't want to ride it with me back in 2011, and knowing that I'll never be able to ride it tears my heart out... rip Splash Mountain

Gotta admit, this was my favorite one, gonna miss it a lot…
I never rode on the ride of splash mountain what was it really like what do other see in it
Same. Splash mountain is my 2nd favorite ride and my friends 1st. I'm gonna literally wear black on the day it closes at Disneyland.
I’m gonna miss it a lot too.
Progressive liberals ruin everything. One day people are going to have enough of their crap.
It’s sad that splash mountain is going soon, I wish it never left / is leaving
I never went on this ride of splash mountain
Came here after Tiana... I am crying. Disney has lost its magic. RIP Splash Mountain... replaced with emptiness, screens, and dollar store decor.
I came to cleanse my eyes
I was genuinely devastated when I heard they were closing it. This is my personal favorite ride i have ever been on
As someone who went on this ride the last time right before it closed I can confirm that this ride was better than the new Tiana ride and I went on that ride yesterday ( coming from someone who’s fav movie is the Princess and the frog )
Rest in Peace, Splash Mountain. We’ll miss this attraction so much. 😢
Bring. It. Back.
never happen blacks wont allow it they are the reason the ride is dead
This was an unnecessary transformation. Sure this idea was based on a controversial film, but non of the controversial moments from that film are represented in this ride.
Exactly. People just like to get offended over things that don’t affect them so they can feel powerful by changing them.
The worst part is, literally nobody was complaining about this ride. Disney did this for no reason.
@@EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEF Disney went full 'DEI' leftist garbage and now Disney gets to 'DIE.'

I love that you captured this for the records. In such clear quality too.
I have never been able to make out everything so clearly when I rode. The sounds are always so loud and overlap each other. So I miss certain characters dialog.

Anyone here after the new Tiana’s pov?
I’m honestly really disappointed:(
@@sebastianjarski4246why
Just watched this after Tiana pov. The 'dead space' works in the original because it's building up tension, and the story, music and characters slowly unfold. Plus it gets slightly creepy with the music getting faster and more chaotic to the buildup of the big drop. Whoever designed Tiana just missed all that. They didn't even include the villain which would have added so much tension before the drop. It looks so disappointing.
Maybe because the villain died in the original movie
@@jonathanmarkowski5081They still have plenty of Star Wars stuff with characters who have died so that doesn’t make any sense
@@jonathanmarkowski5081that’s not an excuse for making a terrible, bland ride.
Modern left-wing disney is creatively bankrupt. No soul or heart, all the foundations pulled out and just plummeting into the earth.
That’s the point though
WHY set the ride’s narrative after the events of the film?
Why not follow the plot of the film?
I'll take the old Splash Mountain any day over what's there now.
What an amazing ride, it’s hard to describe how cool it is when you do the first big drop into the darkness and the music sounds chilling all of a sudden
Splash Mountain is still better imo, Tiana's Bayou got lots of empty spaces and felt a bit lifeless but the Mardi Gras part was awesome. Splash Mountain got lots of empty spots too but the theme of the ride didn't make them feel out of place unlike the party theme which Tiana's Bayou going for
Political correctness destroyed possibly the best, and a historic ride. The likes of which we'll probably never see again. I will miss Splash Mountain . SHAME DISNEY.
I was lucky enough and extremely privileged to have gotten a chance to ride both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland's version one last time last year. The narrow logs on Disneyland's felt like they just zoomed right down the flume.
You've made a stunning farewell video to this attraction, thanks for doing that! Many mourne the loss of this attraction, but I am hopeful for the retheme and hope I can make memories on it as well!

How do you think it compares to the Dineyworld one?
Welp, ridethroughs are now being posted for Tiana's. It is exactly like everyone was guessing. I am utterly distraught ☹️
I was just there a few weeks ago! Was saddened to hear it's going away. But I was thankful that I got to ride it one last time!
Well done, Disney. You’ve taken possibly your most beloved attraction of all time and somehow made it dark, dull, boring, and lifeless.
Always loved how after the drop, there was still “more ride”. It didn’t just loop around to the exit. ❤
I don’t have any nostalgia for SM so I’m super excited for the re-theme. But I totally understand those who are sad to say goodbye. I would literally cry if they ever changed POTC.

It’s a discredit to Tiana to not even build her her own new ride. They had to ruin an already amazing ride.
Maybe we didn’t always agree with Michael Eisner’s decisions, but more often than not, he believed in Disney and delivered greatness.
I bet he’s shuddering at what they did to this classic.
Thank you so much for posting this. I’m 38 now and about to be 39 in a few months. I’ve always loved this ride and singing along with it and of course getting wet on a hot summer FL day was a major perk. I’m so sad to have heard it’s no longer. I understand change can be a good thing, but sometimes the classics are better. We’ll just have to see how the future for Tiana’s Bayou ride goes. Till then Zipa Dee doo dah.

I first went to Splash Mountain when I was 4 years old, absolutely loved it. When I went back home to Scotland, I always begged my parents to take me back to Florida next holiday. My wish was granted 4 years later, and it was the first ride we visited when we went to the Magic Kingdom. I always vowed when I was old enough to travel independently that I'd go to Splash Mountain on my own, now I'm close to 27, life and circumstances got in the way, and now I am full of sadness and regret for not going sooner. It's true, nothing ever lasts forever, but I'll never forget how it made me feel till the day I die.
