Ah memories. I first watched this like three years ago and I got down the shittiest flat-handed six step ever and I thought I was all hype because I could six step. Now I can do most of my footwork clean, fast, and in both directions. Anyone struggling, don't give up, keep practicing and you can do it!
Honestly I have been breaking for a year now and I am definitely a powermover but I never learned this move until now, I realize how important it is to have footwork ,it's the new power move !!! This channel has helped me so much over the past year thx vinc
OMG I remember this when I first went to Breakdance I wanted to learn this sm so I watched you and I learned it but now I can airflare and I hope everybody has a good day
Back in 2018 I used to breakdance at school and surprisingly sugarhill gang on stage when they came to my town, but after Corona, I lost my rock, which is why I am learning to do my old moves to impress my high-school
Omg so nostalgic, This is one of the first videos I watched when I started breaking, now I can do different power moves, footworks, freezes, and have been winning battles.
Some tips for everyone watching: * Watch each hand separately. Then watch each foot separately. Ok now that you've watched the video 4 times, you will have a better understanding of where each body part needs to go. * I'm taller than 6 feet. I don't know about this guy, but when I'm doing the push up position to step 3, it hurts a lot because my feet need to go past my hands and they can't since my body is long. Do yourself a favor and shorten your push up position so that you do steps 1 and 2 with your feet in front of your hand. Then step 3 will work fine. Good luck everyone!
we' re same...i've start to do practise at my house eventhough this week i have test at my school..n u know im not study for my test....n i do this practise...haha my mom gets angry with me
I just wanna say, thanks to this video I 1. Did this move for a large musical at my school (my old high school had a large theater program) 2. Learned how to bust a quick move at dance parties 3. And have a reliable answer to “What’s an interesting fact about yourself?”
Great tutorial. Handy for someone like me who hasn't done any breakin for years and wants to pick it up again. I wish we had videos like this back in the 80s instead of having to rely on watching films like beatstreet and just figuring it out. :)
IKR! I'm new to it, since my 3 year old brother wants to learn breakdancing, I have been following this playlist for he steps. I like to do it in slow motion, to learn.
Try this, I do my six step by starting out in a squat(on my toes), leaning on my right hand while kicking my right foot out, then I kick my left foot out and bring the right foot in, then do sort of a coffee grinder to bring it around while on my left hand, then proceed to the push up position. Do it the opposite way if you're left handed, and you can start this from a push up position if you wish. This is my way of doing it, so it may or may not be for you. Hope this helps :).
So I have extreme difficulty learning the six step... Tried it at turtles pace fast Medium My body naturally moves in a fluid motion and at what is refered to as goofy angle and weight shifts.. And one hand must remain flat due to a plate.. And a leg with a bad knee that moves like goofy lead..and drags And I am currently taking a break dance class And researching video and tutorials.. yours were goof So do you have any tips or videos that will help strengthen and allow the flexibility and fluidity of goofy dancers ( or as I have coined the injured adaptive body movement dancers)
So I found out about you about 11 months ago but thought meh dancing isn't my thing until I actually danced with a girl (Because I SUCKED AT DANCING!) but this makes me feel alive and now i'm gonna hit it all the way!
Really good tutorials! You make people aware of technique so that the moves can be accomplished with lots of practice! Im a Dance teacher and learning Break dance in order to introduce this into my Street classes. Fortunately I have done Ballet and am impressed how Break Dance footwork is just as intricate and technical! Lots of practice for me hey but I am getting there!
I practised for a few days and when i got the hang of it, i asked my little brother (only 9) if i could do it. I showed him the video then showed him how i dance! He said i could actually do it! He was so suprised!!
hehe...no one in my class can dance.i wanted to learn what kind of dance i should learn and i found breakdance.i really love it.and its fun and it also comes with a perk-impressing girls
Vincanity how do you stay on your palm/finger tips the whole time?? When I try it hurts like hell, did it hurt for you when you first started doing 6 steps?
Yea man. I practiced for about 3 weeks straight everyday. I wouldn't say my six steps are perfect but, it's definitely a lot better than what i use to think was "good". I have calluses on my hands now tho.
If you put more weight on your hands it will make you lighter on your feet so you look like a floating feather. It is of course whatever your preference is.
Th is was a really great video, one of the best ive seen. However, I keep doing it wrong. Wpuld you be able to make a video doing it morror image? Thanks!
When I finish doing it once I end up in a different direction. I'm practicing so I go kind of slow. When I go from step 2 to 3 I use both hands to support me to make sure I don't fall. I mentioned this because when he's going at a normal pace( for him ) he just switches his hands instead of using both. Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong?
you're not doing anything wrong, you're just doing it slowly, which means you're in the position longer, thus, you probably need more support. you can we that he uses both of his hands at about 2:17 when he does it slowly. when he does it fast, he doesn't have both hands on the floor simultaneously because he's not in the crabwalk position for that long.
Do you have any tips for mantaining the hips?My teacher said to work on a circular movement of the hips while trying to stay at the same horizontal level, but I'm struggling a lot...
Thanks man so much I’ve been trying to bboy for years but I couldn’t I live in the middle of nowhere and nobody is teach for hours away but this channel helped me do that I felt so awkward doing it at first but now I can semi breakdance this helped me so much thanks man honestly
how can I know the hand positioning for the 6 step? I watch your hands, but i can never get the right positioning on them. Can you give us an explanation on the hand positioning for the 6 step? that would be great :)
Rex Pika every bboy/bgirl starts off like that. Just keep practicing. And if you are going in circles put an object in front of the front of your press up position and focus on that as you do your six step :)
while I was watching this I was like “PSH this looks simple enough!” and then as soon as I tried it I got super confused and starting laughing and how dumb I probably look ...sigh
How did you get into that position at 2:00 with your hand at the back? No matter how hard I try to step my leg forward, my hand is still on front of my body
Happened to me at first. Just do it real slowly focusing on finishing it at the starting point. Make sure your legs move the required amount no more or less so that you'd be doing it in a circular motion like he described at first
I think I just snapped my neck, oh damn my moms coming, if she sees me on TH-cam she will probably slam my head onto the keyboard and snap my neckwhdygccygcgjgufysydvjcjcjsbg
Thank you so much for these ace videos but any tips for not hurting hands when just using fingers? I can only balance with palms because otherwise my fingers hurt like hell
Very nice tutorial, detailed and great. Problem with these footwork moves is, they tire you up very easily, so you must be in great shape to perform them a few times straight
hi thank you so much youve been a big help. there is like a club day at our school and one of our teachers is hosting a breakdance club, i had no idea what to do untill i saw your videos so thanks.
hahaha david brought me here :D. but as a bboy myself one important thing that you left out is that you should start out the 6 step going the way that is most COMFORTABLE for you. as VincaniTV has taught you you going to the left, if youre not comfortable going with your left foot first then switch to your right and go the opposite direction.

@@M3XICAN_09 i’m curious as well
I've learned that if a comment is 2 years old or is it in at least one month years of old? Then you're probably not going to get a response
What I mean is that if the comment was made and you commented on this if one month had passed or more likely to respond then if a year had passed
I will *heavy breathing* get good at this!
It's been 3 years!! Are you a beast yet?
It's been 7 years! Are you an absolute master at this yet?
It's been 8 years!!! Are you a professional yet?

I found recording my self and comparing the vids helps a lot!
Learned it in a minute I've been dancing for 3 years😄
(Coming back to this) Haha I learned the steps quite fast, but I mean... Three hours later and I still looked like a drowned spider.
It's 1am and I'm looking up break-dancing tutorials because why not, I'll definitely try this! (Tomorrow)
The main reason I want to do this is to breakdance with that cool cat
Try to imagine a ballerina with her leotard and high bun and everything, trying to breakdance. Yup I look ridiculous.
