Is this an edited highlight of a more complete tutorial? There are so many points missing that a real beginner needs to know - sharpening, choice of tool, choice of timber, stance, grip, rubbing the bevel, tool on toolrest before wood, and so on. That's just in the first few seconds of turning! Colwyn's a great tutor, but somebody is editing out a lot of the important stuff - a beginner who relies on just this could get in a real mess, and possibly injure themselves.
I enjoyed that video very much I learned a few things that I didn't know.
