I know right! All these other people using a $20 lanyard removal tool and I’m over here like I just spent $250 on the knife and scales not gonna be able to buy another $20 tool just to remove the lanyard tube
Your new scales are very pretty. Thanks for sharing the screwdriver trick, you made it look easy. I am going to use ti scales and a plug to delete the lanyard hole altogether.
Cheers bro. Just used this vid to put carbon scales on my para 3. When putting back together it was easier to clip the lanyard in and then spin the top liner around, lol. Where did you get the belt clip, it looks sick.
The milled clip is one from BladesWeLove, check them out! But if you’re looking for something that offers a deeper carry then I highly recommend either LynchNW or MXG Gear. Thanks for watching and I’m glad this video helped!
Funny thing, my original G10 scales came off really easily, but the liners didn't want to budge. That's ok, because I didn't want to deal with removing the blade anyway.
i'm about to put some natural canvas micarta scales on a para 3, just wanna make sure i have a plan for that lanyard tube before i start forcing and prying lol. still not that confident.. crossing my fingers
Quick question, do you not have to seat the liners into the scales so as they are flush or when you tighten down the screws do they just snap into place. Most other videos I see them spedning time massaging the liners into the scales. In your video your able the just sit the liner on the half of the knife that's assembled, drop the scale in place and tighten? Do the liners have to be "clicked" into the scales?
I’ve never had to fiddle much with the liners into the scales - they fit very well, always. I’m saying this as an owner of 8 para3s and never once faced that issue, even disassembling and reassembling my buddies’ para 3s as well.
Awesome video bro, with great worded details as you go. Love the tap to the beat at 04:16 too. Looks so sick, especially the gold flecks. I'm curious if you used loctite on anything. Excellent job, thorough, well documented, with some nice beats as we go. I tried the compression lock and the manix ball lock at a knife shop, but had a bit of a hard time doing compression lefty, and the ball lock was super tough to pull down, so I haven't invested in any of those knives yet. I really like the manix 2 and para 3 though, so maybe i'll check them again and reconsider. I may have kept the stock clip as it looks like it's got a similar finish to match the blade, and the spider, but that one did look classy. Thank you for sharing in this slice. G@G@ BUC3!
Interesting! The compression lock is one of the most comfortable locks I’ve handled so far. Maybe you got a sticky one? Or maybe you’re right - you need a lefty knife. Unfortunately they don’t make lefty Para 3s, but hey, seeing as how you prolly have larger hands than I do, give the lefty PM2 a shot? It’s slightly larger but I’m sure it’ll fit well in your hands. PS: the tap was completely unintentional LOL
I’ve removed scales from over 10 PM2s and Para3s so far with no problems using this method. I also know that the good people over at BWL use the same method with no problem. Other methods I’ve tried run a higher risk of damaging the lanyard slot, so if you know of a better way, would you mind sharing it? Thanks in advance!
I know this is an older video now, but this is one of the best Para 3 scale swap videos I've seen. Thanks!

@michaeldowney6533 @thundercell13 thank you guys so much, I’m glad this was of help and that you both enjoyed it.
Wow you sure took the lanyard hole a lot faster and easier than most. Knife looks amazing!
Thank you! :)
I like your new scales - they look great. Great tip of using the screw driver to pop the scales off the lanyard tube. I haven’t seen that before..!
I’m glad more people are learning about the screwdriver pop! Haha
good job bro. i ve seen so many scale swipe reviews but this is the best technique so far for para3. thanks
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
I just spent an hour swapping scales on my Manix 2. The lanyard tube destroyed me, i got it done. But the screwdriver tip is great.
I’m glad you got it done. Sigh, the pain of the lanyard tubes!
Your new scales are very pretty. Thanks for sharing the screwdriver trick, you made it look easy. I am going to use ti scales and a plug to delete the lanyard hole altogether.
That’s because the method is really easy! Give it a shot!
And I’m so excited for your scale swap and lanyard plug!
I remember I used to like your nerf videos and now I'm into knives and your channel popped up in my recommended wow.
Wow. That’s pretty awesome.
But it also means you’re never getting rid of me lol

Yeah I did!
"Our video" coming soon! hahaha
@@avgsgn oh man I'm so worried hahaha. Never done a video like that before xD
Wow!!! I saw others struggle . So much so I didn’t want to get a Para 3 and custom scales. Not no more. Micarta time!!!!
Have no fear my friend!! Which micarta scales are you looking at?

Thank you, James!
Thanks 🙏 just the video I need
What type of lube would you recommend ?
I enjoy both KPL (Knife Pivot Lube) standard, and Nano Oil (85w).

this method has high risk of damaging the scales. Look at 4:38, some people will be ok with it but to some, its a big deal.

Any chance you are selling the original scales?
Sold them all off already, sorry!
Oh dang it I guess that's what you get for showing up late to the party

Nice New Look 🤘 Are You Willing To Sell The Red Scales?
Thanks King!
But... unfortunately, the red scales are not for sale - my good buddy Jacky is doing something sweet to them.
