    I’m both a shimano and daiwa fan. I must say, you are too much of a shimano fan for me to take your advice. Every video and often in the comments you seem to talk bad about “daiwa fanboys.” Makes you seem a bit bais toward shimano. Shimanos may actually be better better but your advice means nothing to me

      I do like his videos, they are informative but his tests never convinced me buy one reel over the other. I do own both brands, including 13 fishing and abu, so i buy what i like and not to mention that in actual fishing i barely see advantages as im boat fisherman. I sold a Curado DC to buy 2 Tatulas. Don't regret it one bit. Amazing reels. I am now the happy owner of a Shimano Scorpion DC as well as several Tatulas so I have no strong preference, but I feel it's worth noting the overrun at 3:15, 3:50 and 4:07. You had significant overrun on the Curado to get near the same distance and neglected to mention it. You also didn't show the "Extreme distance" setting, only the Scorpion. I suspect that is because it had significantly worse overrun/backlashing with the brakes near off. Not an unbiased review. So to say "Easily Beat" is not a fair or unbiased assessment either. I enjoy your content, but don't provoke fanboys if you're going to be one as well.

      You need to watch again. Those were not "overruns" they were backlashes where I didnt stop the spool after the frog already hit the ground. And yes I showed the "Extreme distance" casts because if you paid attention to where I show the the cast measurements at the end of each cast,(which is exactly why I do it) they were longer and there was zero overrun. This was not a "review" it was a cast battle. And yes, the Tatula Elite was EASILY beaten.. AGAIN. I suggest you come with facts next time you "attempt" to challenge my results and try to look smart on the internet because Ill shred you every time kid.

    Have the Shimano Fanboys ever tried a Daiwa tatula Elite? I will say Shimano curado is a tried-and-true reel 100%. But I will also say that Daiwa tatula Elite is one awesome overall reel. Neither one of them can you say anything real bad about. At this point in technology you're literally just arguing about the brand name and not the actual equipment any longer

    • @matyasabkarovits

      Most shimano fanboys always arguing about that the daiwa didnt show anything new... same tws, same magnetic break in all model, same frame...so they are just renaming a tatula with lighter spool or with the sv system and other "features". And thats why Daiwa is blamed by them. Kinda right but in my opinion a tatula is better looking and more comfortable...(yep im daiwa fan) but It would be good if they really release a new reel and not just the ordinary tatula...

    I have the Tatula Elite P/F in an 8 ratio paired with a 7'3" Fast, mag-heavy Dobyns Fury rod. Such a good frogging or heavy cover combo. For anybody wondering the Tatula Elite P/F isn't JUST for pitching and flipping. It's on-par with all my other reels (DC reels included) even with the 65lb Berkley x5 braid I have on it. I definitely wanna try the long cast or the SV 103. Leaning towards the SV just because I've yet to own an SV reel. The Curado 150 MGL is looking fire too though.

    • @THEREELTEST
      @THEREELTEST  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to know about the P/F model that its not just a 1 trick pony. As far as SV reels? Just take your regular Tatula, then slow the spool down and cut off a few feet of casting distance. I think SV reels are great to learn baitcasters on, but not a brake system to be putting on expensive reels.

      Agreed. The producer is obviously a Shimano fanboy and does not disclose if he actually uses "fair" brake settings in his tests. You can easily have tension turned up just a hair on one lure that makes it not cast as far and definitely not be telling us, all the while optimizing brake settings on his "preferred" lures and still not disclose it. His obvious preference for Shimano is very striking and his mental capacity as indicated by his speech patterns etc.. indivates that he would be susceptible to bias in his actual testing to support his own brand bias.

    Here’s my thoughts. I personally would not use either of these reels for throwing frogs. The criteria a reel must meet for me to consider frogging with it is:
    1. It must have an aluminum frame and gear side plate
    2. It must have a dual bearing supported pinion
    3. It must have brass gears
    This means the list of reels I would use for frogs includes, but is not limited to, the Bantam MGL, Steez A Morethan PE, USDM Zillion SV TW G, 22 Zillion TW HD G. I like a very solid reel when you’re throwing into the thickest of cover
