Thanks for taking us along on this trip and sharing memories. I have not quite the bike for the Passo Dordona but enjoyed the Passo San Marco in the Valley nearby - a bit more of tarmac. 😉 Curious to view the next leg of this journey.
Thanks Andy, I am a bit old these days for aggressive mountainous trail riding, but had that back in the day on our farm with rugged hills, great for skills learning. Great views - when you mentioned the wind, I had just seen a dust devil then the leaves on the shrubbery silverside up, blowing in the wind! Stay positive, great for the soul. I think Missenden Flyer and Mrs stopped at Lake Como too recently while on the Blue Goldwing.
Pretty much exactly the reason why I’ve grabbed the bull by the horns and gone for the ADV direction. I’m not getting any younger and I’d only regret it if i never tried! And I’m so far glad i have! I’ll do my very best to keep the positivity up! And i must say, i found myself being much more calm and relaxed in this trip than any other so far. Despite the abject terror every five minutes!! 🤣
Hey Andy, nice video as always ! Once you get hooked on taking April (yes that's how I call mine) off road you may want to consider swapping front springs from progressive to linear ones as it makes much difference when it comes to front handling and feedback. I'm on Bridgestone AX41 and running 24psi front and 29psi back which helps with traction. Regards from Folkestone
Cheers for the tip! I’m definitely getting hooked on taking her on the dirt, so May well have to look into that as it’s not the first time I’ve heard that about the boingers. Plus the new Rally version comes with linear springs as standard
I thought the Aprilia was going to be a little underpowered for touring but clearly I was wrong. The bike sounds epic and you seem to be having fun at every twist and turn but then again, you always do Andy. Always a pleasure to watch ch one of your vids..
I’ll be honest, the power situation was the part that worried me the most about buying this bike. Especially after having 3 125+ HP bikes in a row. But i truly don’t miss it and what I’ve got is more than enough to keep up with the big boys (in the twisties). I enjoy riding this bike more than any other that I’ve owned before. Sometimes we end up where we’re meant to be. But not where we thought we would!
I was going to say, I kept on fluffing it on the new blade 'till I dropped the gear lever several degrees. Made a world of difference. Beautiful. Great work AMC.
I love that after many visits, I’m now getting to see a completely different side to them! I’m very glad i made the decision to swap East for west then! Thanks for confirming!! 😚
Great video Andy I’ve been watching your latest videos each of them and ticked like abviously but I watch them on utube on tv and it’s a faf to comment on there but I’m still following you mate loving it mate Italy is such a beautiful country isn’t it have fun ride safe mate
@ hi Andy yes I’ve never been but seen some of it on utube one of my daughters went last year and she said it was a beautiful place people were so friendly all spoke English very relaxed and she felt very safe there can’t remember where she went though 😂
Thank Steve! I’ve always loved it too, but I really enjoyed being able to see it from a whole different perspective. Like it was suddenly all new again!
Val Taleggio is really cool, I've done it countless times, last time with my beloved Vespa... Be warned: lower your expectations because sadly you won't see many Tuaregs around, in fact they are very rare on our roads and it's a pity because it's a bike that deserves much more love. The typical Italian motorbike tourer likes to buy Bimmers (BMW) or Ducati Multistrada. Happy you're enjoying your stay and your Tuareg! Minute 23.14: this is the renowned bar of Lecco, where all motorcyclists take a break before heading to Valtellina!
It was a beautiful ride. Probably even better on a tightly wound Café racer! I think that the Tuareg is quickly gathering popularity. Soon they’ll be as common as the dirty Yamaha T7!! 🤪
@AndyManCam thanks for the info, I have that app I'll search for it 👍🏻 can also ask are you still making music? I have one of your pass tracks in my iTunes library
My pleasure mate! Not so much creating anything new right now. Hoping to get more time soon which could end up meaning more music or more videos… or maybe both!
I can only agree! Plus I’m surprised by how long they’ve lasted. I though that the 1500km ride home would finish them off, but they’ve still got a good couple of thousand km‘s in them!
@AndyManCam , they are surprisingly puncture resistant too (that's torn it🙄) and a good stiff carcass which enables you to at least ride 'within reason' with a puncture should you be unfortunate enough to get one..my new go to tyre..cheap too.!
That’s also good to know! Thankfully no need to test that out so far. I reckon I’ll definitely go for them again. It was s surprise to see that they were much cheaper than everything else equivalent from the big brands.
Thank you!! It depends on the season, but i paid just over 500€ for one way, with a shared cabin. I have paid as little as 400 with a private cabin, but you have to get the timing right!
Wait there’s a train from hamburg??? The car train from Altona takes bikes? I wonder how much it is… Would be amazing to bypass all of germany to ride down to italy. And 20° is a LOT better than the -1 we’ve got up here today!
@ I’ve done a bit of google… holy wow that’s expensive. Like half of what my bike cost me! Could ride a very long way with that much money, considering my 125 just sips fuel!
Sad, but true. It is a bit of a luxury option (though the shared cabins are anything but luxury!). But if you need to get down there quick and without motorway struggle, then it’s perfect. It used to be cheaper, when it was run by ÖBB. Since they gave up, the prices have definitely taken a jump skyward.
Uff rough drivings but congrats on the maturity to go around puddles you do not have to go through. You are way more mature than me. and do not mock the panda. the rougher the terrain in italy the more pandas you se
I don’t know if it’s maturity or fear of what could be lurking inside those puddles that stops me!! 😆 There is actually a pass to come, where I was wondering if I was even going to make it to the top. Then, sure enough…. Fiat Panda!!
Thank you Andy for taking us along on your Italian steed on one of the most beautiful trials in the world!
My pleasure mate! Thanks for watching ! But trust me, this is just the start! 🏔️
I am kackered and scared stiff just watching you on the rough stuff !!
Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Ha! Seems like i managed to convey my exact emotions through the video then! 😜
Cracking vid Andy and that scenery is stunning!
Thank you most kindly Dave. Just you wait, the scenery just keeps getting better!!
Lovely footage, editing and scenery! 👍
Thank you kindly Rikky!
As always - beautiful views, great video! You really help me through the ugly days in winter.
Music to my ears, thanks mate! Always happy to help!! 😚
Stunning scenery again!
Your bike looks fun on road and off too 👌
The Tuareg is an absolute revelation mate! It can do everything and plaster a great big smile on your chops while it’s doing it!! 😍
Thanks for taking us along on this trip and sharing memories. I have not quite the bike for the Passo Dordona but enjoyed the Passo San Marco in the Valley nearby - a bit more of tarmac. 😉
Curious to view the next leg of this journey.
My pleasure Peter! Thanks for joining!
Geiles Kamera Setup! Macht spass dir zuzusehen!
Danke noch mal Michi! Dieses ‚simple‘ Setup ist fast unschlagbar!
Persevere with the Sidi's Andy, they are great boots. Cracking vid mate as usual.😊
Looks like I’ve got no choice, as Gaerne told me to shove it! I did get more and more comfortable with the boots as the trip went on 👍🏻
@AndyManCam Great customer service strikes again! Not!!😥
Absolutely. Looks like there might have to be a naming and shaming video!

Hi Andy, yet another top vid, I need to start going some of these passes. 👍🏍
Thanks mate! Yeah absolutely, i can’t recommend it enough, if you want to see a completely different side to the Alps 👍🏻
Great stuff, Andy. Looking forward to the next episodes.
Thanks very much Jim. Just working in the next one and even though i was there, I’m blown away by the sights! Can’t wait to share!
A fine watch on a Saturday morn...😁👍
Happy to oblige dear boy!! Have a tremendous weekend!

That was awesome!!!
It was even more awesome from the drivers seat! I want to do it again!
I was going to say, I kept on fluffing it on the new blade 'till I dropped the gear lever several degrees. Made a world of difference. Beautiful. Great work AMC.
Thank you most heartily mate! Amazing what a couple of mm‘s in either direction can do!
@@AndyManCam Ahhh. Smut. I expected nothing less !
@bloodyhell451 I aim to please.
a lot of the mixet roads, looks like a killer tour/video
Cheers S. It was the tour that just kept getting better! Lots yet to come!
How spiffing Andy that was well squeezed out.😉
Cheers Doc! Strange feeling, being almost up to date with the videos! 😅
Got to love the Alps. And you are not wrong. The north east side of the Italian TET is mainly paved.
I love that after many visits, I’m now getting to see a completely different side to them! I’m very glad i made the decision to swap East for west then! Thanks for confirming!! 😚

Cheers Nicholas! It’s SUCH a beautiful country! I’ve been a few times, but never seen it like this! This tour was a real eye opener. More to come!! 😃
@ hi Andy yes I’ve never been but seen some of it on utube one of my daughters went last year and she said it was a beautiful place people were so friendly all spoke English very relaxed and she felt very safe there can’t remember where she went though 😂
I had a very similar experience! Recommended destination all round!
What a great ride and adventure.
Thanks very much! I thought so too! Can’t wait for the next one!
Excellent vid. Love that part of Europe.
Thank Steve! I’ve always loved it too, but I really enjoyed being able to see it from a whole different perspective. Like it was suddenly all new again!
caio, bella motorcicloie grande toure
Grazie, grazie! 🙏🏻
Superb Adam Rieman Impression, laughed far too loudly at that one 😂
Cheers mate! I’ve obviously watched too much of his stuff in the lead up to this trip! 😂
good job andy
Cheers very much matey!!
Is the ÖBB Nightjet driving again from Hamburg to Innsbruck? 😲
No. It’s run by Urlaubs Express now.
Although I still prefer the CB (can't help it :)) I have to agree that the offroad footage with this bike is very pleasant to watch.
Each to their own J! But I’m not swaying, the Aprilia is the best bike ever! 😜
Val Taleggio is really cool, I've done it countless times, last time with my beloved Vespa...

Great vid Andy, the camera wasn’t taking a nap is was just ready to frame you when you stood up
Thanks Peter! Or maybe the camera just wanted to look at the mountain peaks, instead of me? A decision i can fully understand! 😆
excellent
Cheers Michael! 🙏🏻
Can I ask what time of the year was this trip Andy, never seen this pass on any YT video. Enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Absolutely you can! It was mid September. I’d never heard of it either, until I stumbled across it on Wikiloc.
The heidenau k60 are a fabulous grippy predictable tyre despite the way they look.
What date did you do this mate?
This was in mid September Stephen. Bit of an end of season vibe in the area, slightly changeable weather but way less traffic as a bonus!
Oi Italian job 😁 nice and steady
Hang on lads, I’ve got an idea…. 😜
Nice vid, what kind of cost is it to take a motorcycle on the train from Hamburg? The train seemed well used.
Thank you!! It depends on the season, but i paid just over 500€ for one way, with a shared cabin. I have paid as little as 400 with a private cabin, but you have to get the timing right!
@@AndyManCam Thanks for the info👍 Not cheap for a return ticket but I suppose it saves a lot of time and motorways.
Absolutely. Not to mention saved tyre wear, fuel, accommodation and lost days in the mountains!
Good morning Andy
Good morning Kev

Yepp!! It’s a revelation! It’s bloody expensive though. Although once you put in accommodation, fuel, tyre wear, arse pain etc… it makes more sense.
@ I’ve done a bit of google… holy wow that’s expensive. Like half of what my bike cost me! Could ride a very long way with that much money, considering my 125 just sips fuel!

What a road! (edit) What a day!
I know right! A real mixed bag and a gem to start with. It gets better though…
I want to go..........No f*cking about there Andy! :D
It’s a pretty epic region mate, and trust me, it’s about to get even epic-er!
Where's all the traffic?
Thankfully elsewhere!! It was end of season, so i think everything was fairly reduced in terms of tourists.
Uff rough drivings but congrats on the maturity to go around puddles you do not have to go through. You are way more mature than me. and do not mock the panda. the rougher the terrain in italy the more pandas you se
