    This looks like a great budget board but I actively avoid Velocifire keyboards after the "premium" Hope75 they ran last year. My unit had a few QC issues that weren't addressed and their discord support has been spotty at best. I can't imagine what their "budget" QC looks like if the Hope75 was anything to go off of

      Hey there, we have to addmit that we've had some issues of Hope75 QC, but we've tried our best to help customers solve their problems. Actually, that's why we have made some changes to ensure better quality and reliability since Dolphins75 project:

      We have switched to a new factory partner who is more mature and responsible than the one who produced Hope75. Since we started working with them, we have experienced almost no issues with QC.
      Last but not least, we really are not acting perfectly in some ways, but we learn from the past and keep improving ourselves whether in QC or other aspects. Anyway, thank you for your feedback and hope you have a nice day.

      @@velocifire910It's nice for you to respond but reputations are easy to lose but harder to gain, maybe if the choice 65 can stand up for it's price and appeal to most people then hopefully they'll take your word for it, but until then people would still view it as a questionable buy.

      @@velocifire910 thanks for the communication, I personally won't be purchasing this board since I'm looking for more premium options, but I hope this board does well! New budget boards are always good for the hobby.

    Great vid as always. I was hoping you would have included a non foam sound test though. Im debating on getting either the green or the blue. I cant decide! For this price I may just have to get both. lol. And I agree it did have a "clocky" sound a little clack and a little thock.

      let me try to get one recorded real quick, and I'll post it as a reel tomorrow! I have to say if I have the choice between green and blue I will ALWAYS pick green. Green is the color of all things good. Vegetables are green. Money (in the US) is green. Green tea is green. Your friends will be green with envy when they see your beautiful green choice 65. GO FOR GREEN YOU WON'T REGRET IT!
      I'm totally kidding haha but I like green :D

    The reliance on foam is a deal breaker for me, but the mounting might make it compatible with gummy o’ring

  • @BluBarry1215
    @BluBarry1215 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is the foam layer on the PC plate actually the gasket? If I remember correctly, they were the one who made Join65 too. Almost the same as Choice65 in design and for the gasket mount. I don't remember them to be on the top of the plate, but under it as mid plate foam that function as the all-around gasket. The top one might be for sound only. Kind of confused if they have changed it.

    • @MakerMods
      @MakerMods  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is! It requires both the top and bottom gaskets, otherwise it's kind of rattly.

  • @JustSomeGuy009
    @JustSomeGuy009 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really like the look of this board. Especially like the red+black and the green colors. I'd like to hear more about the mount implementation though. It seems unique and haven't heard of any other boards like that. Also really wish they had a wireless PCB option.
    PS: I appreciate that you ACTUALLY built the keyboard as intended instead of some other youtubers and streamers that just decide to ignore the intended design.

    • @HKl1502
      @HKl1502 ปีที่แล้ว

      they do, as an add on which sucks

    • @JustSomeGuy009
      @JustSomeGuy009 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HKl1502I must have missed that. Most customs tend to have the wireless as an additional addon cost as it requires a different PCB. The part that bothers me most is the wireless PCBs mean you lose QMK/VIA support for so many custom keyboard group buys.

    • @HKl1502
      @HKl1502 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @703elee

    The Dolphin 75 had this type of mounting style as well......they mustve altered the thickness/materials a bit since i can actually hear you typing. The Dolphin 75 dual gasket layer killed all sound

      I think it kind of depends. Back before hard cases became the norm, there were several sellers who made cases like these on reddit. I used to carry my Planck daily in a pouch like this (although more of a neoprene type material, not the leather) and it held up fine for years!

      @JustSomeGuy009 ปีที่แล้ว

      Outside of being 65 percent, they seem very different. Different mounting methods. Completely different case styles (neo is a single piece case). The colors and weight. The Neo is definitely interesting as they say it's going to sell in the same price range once you add hot swap PCB and/or tri-mode. But info is sorta slim so far on the Neo as they don't even have a page up yet and are still working out details.

    • @MakerMods

      Check out the no case foam typing test! To me, the foamy sound is a different tenor altogether, that homogenous “marbly” PE foam sound which I think this board lacks!
