After a rough day, I uncorked a good bottle of wine, getting ready to catch up with my backlog of ps4 games, but i remembered it was wednesday and watched your video first, then I decided to give this game a try and, in a blink of an eye, i had drank almost two bottles, and still hadn't managed to beat it. At this rate, I will be 60 when i finally beat my ps4 games list (here is where you feel guilty, Trav).
I've always wanted to play these, they look like good ol' platforming fun. Plus, the character designs and art have a whole lot of charm, there's something magical about that late 80s playful anime style
There is one more Kid Niki game, on the Game Boy. Also never left Japan. Ganso! Yanchamaru! It's pretty good, honestly I might like it most out of all four games, though it's been a minute since I played it.
kaiketsu (怪傑): person of extraordinary talent; wonder; marvel taiketsu (対決): confrontation; showdown zouringen (ゾウリンゲン): err... not sure on this one, but I'm guessing a better phrased version of either 'elephant imperial words' or 'reforestation source'. It's written in katakana (italicized-like font for onomatopoeia, foreign words/names, and extra emphasis) so it is a bit ambiguous and possibly pun-ny. the 'g' is hard in 'gen' -like 'game' or 'gone' 8:06 "HELP"

The way the movement looks in this game it seems like it might feel like Adventure Island… and for all our sakes I hope that isn’t true lol. Great review thank you!
Are those mountains flipping us the bird?? I played this game way too much as a kid and somehow finished it, but I never noticed middle-finger mountain until this vid.
Super Mario 14 is a very poor rom hack adding Mario into Kid Niki 3. When you press down on the controller the crouch animation turns from Mario to Niki.

I loved playing this game as a kid with its catchy soundtrack. He also had the crissegrim before alucard

The arcade version of the first game is on Switch

I got to play the third one as "Mario 14" in a famiclone.
Mario would feel right at home going through that pipe.

2:29 weird glitch there when you try to jump. You have to come to a complete stop or you die. I die there all the time.

I have Kid Niki on NES and i never made it very far past the first few levels but i enjoyed it. Also, there's a port of the arcade version on Switch.
