Grasshopper is precious!
My dog developed seizures this year and it made him blind due to neurological damage so he walks around like a little drunk now. Not making fun of him but I’m trying help him adapt to his new world and he’s still so precious and full of life.
People kept recommending he be put down but the vet agreed with me that, although his quality of life is different, it isn’t hopeless and he’s only 7. Please work with your disabled pets. Too many take them to shelters when sometimes all that is required is understanding and patience.
Good on you for accepting the changes in your dog. I know that not everyone could, let alone would be able to do it, so I admire you for standing strong against everyone's "advice".
Since we married (a month shy of 36 years ago!), Hubby and I have both developed disabilities. I can't imagine getting rid of each other because of it, so why would I get rid of another family member? As long as he's not in pain or suffering, he will continue to enjoy life with you - the people he loves - and he'll fully adapt if he hasn't already. Animals are better at doing that than humans. In fact I am going to lose my eyesight in about 4-5 years (apparently I have cataracts developing. I don't notice anything different at the moment, it will take a few years), and if I am not suitable for surgery, I'll be having to learn to adapt too. I hope I'm as successful as your darling boy.
Please give him a hug, kiss or pat from me (all depending on his preference, of course. My dog will take a pat or an ear massage! He hates cuddles). Tell him he's famous and he's a very good boy ❤❤❤
My teenage dog was struck by vestibular disease and lost all sense of balance for a while. It was difficult, she was a Rottie mix, but we hoisted her outside to use the bathroom and back in multiple times a day. Vet encouraged us to not give up on her, and we didn’t!
My cat used to have severe seizures. It’s been about 5 years since the last one. It’s possible to heal their nervous systems by becoming present and placing your hand on them to support energetic release facilitating the body to move towards homeostasis.
After 17 years of epilepsy my cat has tried everything from what you say to work on yours to harscore medication. Not of it works but I'm happy for your cat that the seizures are gone. @ivanvincent7534

The cat probably has cerebellar hypoplasia, which yes, makes animals wobbly. Both Grasshopper and Hippo are super adorable either way.

My wife and I fostered cats for a protection charity in our country for the last 20 years before their forever home.. too many to count (adopted more than few ourselves). I remember one with a similar condition (cerebellar hypoplasia) where they move like Bambi. It doesn't affect any other aspect of their lives or longevity. I'm really pleased you made him part of your family. Real sweetie.

A precious little kitty who has not only a precious little girl, but a whole family. What an adorable name to give to Grasshopper. When a kittie has wobbly cat syndrome, it in no way impacts on their overall health and happiness. It is true that kitties with wobbly cat syndrome, may need some help with certain things, other than that they are just like any other kittie.
Hippo, knew almost immediately that Grasshopper needed her help and love❤. Thank you to all the family for giving beautiful Grasshopper his forever loving home 🏡 ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I'm glad to see Grasshopper has a milder version of this condition ...some that have a more severe case can be helped with a kind of training wheel apparatus until they're adults...Grasshopper is his own physical therapist...he'll be just fine...👍🏼

That's a great story. It is true that we learn a lot from the animals around us, whether they be human, or cat, or dog, etc. We simply have to accept them for what they are, and watch them, and listen to them, and value their contributions to our lives as much as we value our own. Great respect for what you have done with Grasshopper and, what a name! Take care.

Cerebellar Hypoplasia is usually the reason for wobbly kittehs. It's usually caused by issues with mama cat during pregancy, such as certain infections or severe malnutrition. Thankfully, apart from the challenges of life whilst wobbly, it's not painful, isn't contagious, and afaik isn't life threatening or life limiting... unless you count death by kisses cos they're so damn cute ❤
The mother had distemper which causes to give birth to ch cat. These cats are so beautiful and smart. I even soon The Dodo a ch puppy. I just fell in love with him.

We have a wobbly cat. This reminds me so much of Logan as a baby. Logan is 2 now and has adapted well to life. He still has problems with his tail thrashing uncontrollably, and he still walks with stiff legs. Loses his balance sometimes, too. But he’s a love.
