You covered very well. If all parts test fine and P0410 still shows up, then it may be exhaust manifold air injection passage clogged by carbon which is the worst worst scenario !
I have two 2008 clk350 Cabriolet. One is my wife's, and I have one. Her smog pump blows air into the intake manifold. Mines suck air out of the manifold. Mine sounds like a circular saw running. I saw another video showing how to take care of that already. I have no codes, either.
I have a 08 c300 merc I checked the pump and it was 1.5 ohms I checked the solenoid and that was 30 ohms the fuses are all fine relay I think was fine vaccum lines were okay the valves were clean one was a little rusty but not bad at all the pump seemed like it wasn’t getting enough power brought to it when we tested the pump it was working fine but when it’s plugged into the car seems like it’s not wanting to run
Hello, I have a fault code 0694 M4/7 is not working correctly. The engine fan fails sporadically but comes on when you activate A/C. Do you recommend changing the motor fan or maybe it can be fixed? Regardss!
@@BenzAddiction I'm just changing one of the valves and checking the lines I have the code p0410 and when I turn on the truck it smokes but the secondary pump doesn't work, I removed it and tested it and it works. Now one of the valves was not working and I had it installed tomorrow but I wanted to see if the secondary air pump cable had power but I never turned it on to check if it had power. Because of this code, is it normal for smoke to appear?
If you do the tests one by one it ticks off all of the components and hopefully you'll find the issue, smoke should not be related to air pump. This pump only injects air to exhaust. With valves stuck open you might get some exhaust gas in to the pump that can ruin it and produce extra noise.
My pump burned out. I changed my pump, fuse, relay, solenoid and I checked the 2 vaccums they were clean. What could be wrong??. I did have an eval leak I fixed it by changing evap purge valve. But my p0410 code never goes away.
I did the same on my 09 c300. Replaced everything. Secondary air pump was also stuck . Problem was the check valves and my car only has 87k miles on it
Hi all, please test all the 5 components before taking your car to a shop or buying parts and save money on P0410 Secondary Air Pump...cheers Max.
I hope you checked the fuse first before checking all the other components out that would hane been a rookie mistake
Good video. Checking my w220 pump today

I enjoyed watching this video which is much valuable.
I like your explain and diagnostic the issue 👏

Very good point, thank you mate.
How would you be able to clean those clogged passages? I think that is the case with my clk350.

So what fuse was missing for the camshaft or the secondary air pump?

What about the relay?
@ the relay seems fine didn’t really test it with it looking new still
@dylanderoche9754 Yes, you need to test them one by one and tick each box out to get to the real issue.
I tested the relay and that was fine I have no idea what else it could be any ideas?
When you try the solenoid for clicks is your 12v thing clicking or is the solenoid clicking?

Needs diagnostic tools, take this seriously as you might end up with a blown engine.
@@BenzAddiction mmm, better to change it, new or second hand one?
High temperatures are coming in 2 months. Spain Summer.
What working temperature is appropriate for the engine?
هل مضخة الهواء تقلل من عزم المحرك؟
No, it is only there to reduce pollution.
The cable that is connected to the secondary air pump does not have power. Don't you know why?
It only powers up for a min after start up usually. There is a relay that can go bad as well as fuse.

@@elnachoote you might have a clogged catalytic converter
so basically if it's the bank then youd have the error message telling you ??if it isn't then it's the pump?
Yes, video is very straight forward.
Is this pump really essential for the engine is what i want to know...
It is just for emission related. But it can can cause misfire

What is the solenoid called? Secondary air intake solenoid?
Yes: Secondary air injection selenoid.
Thanks. Also, my OBD 2 scanner says “valve stuck open bank 2” is bank 2 the right side of the engine looking at it from the front of the car? Thanks
@@Wargasm54 Are you using a generic obd2 scanner?

In this case, you are not getting specific data, consult with Google.
I have 07 Mercedes w221 I get p410 and it won’t start. Any idea?
The engine won't start or the air pump? If the engine won't start has nothing to do do with this code. Find another reason.
No codes come up at all
For god's sake, you determined the pump can run so is there 12v at the pump plug or not??? If not, go to fuse, go to relay, broken wire?
