- Welcome to Djemila, a stunning ancient Roman city that is steeped in history and culture.
In this video, we will take you on a tour of what we saw and share our impressions of the city.
Djémila is located 110 kilometers southwest of Constantine and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982. It was known as Cuicul in ancient times and was established as an ancient Roman colony during the reign of Nerva (96-98 A.D.).

Our opinion:
Djemila is a captivating and enchanting site, with stunningly preserved ruins and intricate architecture that transport visitors back in time. The location amidst the rolling hills of Algeria adds to its charm and creates a picturesque backdrop that adds to its enchanting aura. Djemila is a work of art, a masterpiece that leaves visitors breathless.
Timgad, on the other hand, is a larger site that corresponds more to the idea and dimensions of a city than Djemila. Its location in the middle of the desert adds to its unique character and creates a sense of isolation that is awe-inspiring. The ruins of Timgad are vast and offer a glimpse into the lives of the people who once inhabited this ancient city.
In terms of preservation, Djemila has been more meticulously maintained, and its structures are better preserved than those of Timgad. However, Timgad offers a more extensive range of structures, including an amphitheater, a library, and public baths.
In conclusion, both Djemila and Timgad offer visitors a glimpse into the world of ancient Rome, showcasing the remarkable achievements of this civilization. Djemila's charm and character create an enchanting atmosphere that is difficult to replicate, while Timgad's vast ruins and desert location offer a unique and awe-inspiring experience. Both sites are worthy of a visit and are sure to leave visitors with a sense of wonder and awe.
Just WOW!!!😮
Never thought Algeria would have green areas with such a northern weather, I always thought it was a wide Sahara desert... This is impressive, thanks for sharing and keep up the good work❤

For your information: Algeria is an Arab Muslim country. Algerians are proud of Islam, the religion of strength and morals.
I know 🙏
Algeria is linguistically Arab, but the majority is not Arab, and it is divided into speakers of Amazigh and speakers of Algerian Arabic, which is a mixture of languages. The majority of Arabs in other countries do not understand it.
No we are not Arabs, no, thanks
@@K_B18532great most of us are, but that doesn’t strip us from our “Arabness” or our islam

Luckily the taxi driver convinced you to go ahead with the visit. Djemila is my favorite Roman era city in Algeria, Hippone in Annaba comes second, although it is fairly small compared to the latter and Timgad.
Welcome again and I hope you enjoy your stay in here :)

Thanks for your advice. But I have also Arab titles. I don’t know if they are displayed automatically or if you must select from the list. It was automatically translated by TH-cam. I hope it doesn’t contain a lot of errors. 🫶

For information: Algeria is a Muslim country, Arab Arabs 84%, and Berbers 16% (the Berbers are also Arabs Arabs and their letters are one of the developments of the ancient Arabic language) In the end, I say thank God for the blessing of Islam that made us one nation
😂

Les arabes D'Algérie sont en majorité d'origine berbère.
