A fun quirk about owning vs. controlling I learned when I tried building a deck around The Beast, Deathless Prince was that tokens count as being owned by the player who creates them. Tribute to Horobi and Varchild, Betrayer of Kjeldor are both cards that make opponents create creature tokens and have a way to steal those tokens built in, letting you build up a board of technically-not-yours creatures. They're even better in a Don Andres deck since Ol' Donny Boy will buff the tokens up and you don't have to restrict yourself to attacking the player who they belonged to for the most value (unless you're also running The Beast in the 99, of course). You can also use those flicker effects to get even more value out of them, making more tokens with Horobi (since I believe it returns to the battlefield on the saga side) and getting Varchild's leave the battlefield ability to trigger without them dying.
Brother, I pulled Admiral Beckett Brass from that List slot, and made a zany Pirate commander deck out of that. It's always a good time, even if her ability I gotta work for that theft... man, I'm excited to get a sweet, sweet update here.
Andres is just the Spanish version of Andre/Andrew. Just pronounce the s, and you're all good, bud. I feel obligated to build this due to it being my name sake, but I'll be honest the play style seems a bit different than what I'm used to. I'm definitely looking forward to giving it a try though
The Don has a fantastic build around! Not much of a pirate tribal, but the theft anthem is fun
I'll remember to lock up that front wheel. I might have to do this precon.
I stole a guy's Amulet of Vigor with Xanathar, and entered Storm Mode immediately.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Makes sense though.
This build is so similar to my Marchesa, the Black Rose deck. The whole theft thing is beloved by my whole play group.
That Lori Lightfoot comment was hilarious!

Great video as always. I love theft decks, good quality fun
My monkey brain was thinking Willbreakeaker, both etali's, threaten effects, and breech the Multiverse.
You can't play etalk primal conqueror, it's color identity is red and green
@@SpikyAsianpretty sure he meant etali storm
@@bryce_ernst did you read the part where he says "BOTH etali's" or did you decide to just be ignorant today
My guy haven't you seen? Braids updated her Tinder picture to anime waifu and it's getting her fancy dinners now 😂
Bazaar trader let's you give yourself stuff you control
Hell yeah brother! Very interesting design space. Reverse Jon Irenicus
Thanks for your support brother!
Brother, I've been trying to make Brass unsinkable work but shes not making it, I think I'll tweak the deck for Don Andres, thanks for the ideas!
oh frik yeah dood
I have been working on Obeka, Brute Chronologist and it is very, very similar
I play an Evelyn deck and boy oh boy ppl don’t like their stuff stolen lol
Thinking Tasha is an auto include
My dream is to build a theft deck, but I also don't want to be archenemy turn 1 every game
Yeah, you need ways to work around it. If the commander gets merked you need to function without him.
What about adding Obeka or Sundial to keep the creatures you've stolen? Or Zevlor to cast a single target steal, and steal 2 more? 😅
That's all good stuff
Obeka and sundial won't let you keep those permanents. That's bc until end of turn effects still end.
@@ibrahimbaig3489if you activate them when the end of turn triggers trigger they’ll be wiped off the stack no?
Where's the list?
I don't think I did one for this guy.
